Alriiighty, then. First double battle I'm reffing; however, should go pretty well.

2vs2 double
DQ: 2 weeks

Banned Moves: OHKO's, two chills per pokemon, moves that would require being on land to work (Dig, earthquake, etc.), any electric move over 70 base power, in fear of electrocuting the whole place.
Arena: Miracle Sea

Far away from Asber, the Miracle Sea has taken a great deal of effort to get to, as there have been a quite a few wild pokemon who did not like the intrusion upon their home. Luckily, most of them have been so astonished that an actual human had appeared there that few have dared made their way to such an odd creature, let alone have the guts to attack it. However, not all have been so timid. As they have been tired out by keeping back some fierce attackers, all pokemon have a reduced health and energy stat, making them start with 70% of both from the start.

The arena is in the very heart of the dungeon, and is covered with shallow water, being just a mere half a foot tall in places. The sandy bottom is hard to use as a substitute for dirt, and as such all ground moves half their effects reduced by half, if they work at all. The further out from the center of the arena the deeper the water gets, eventually getting to ten feet deep or more.

Out away from the shallows and at such a place where the water level would make anything aside from fish afraid of drowning are a crowd of phione, cowering in fear of an angry gyarados. If you swim out there (taking one action and risking a 25% chance getting attacked by a stray seadra with hydro pump) and attack it, it will faint immidiately, and the phione will reward you happily with a phione dew, which cures all status effects and increases your energy and health by 15% for both you and your partner. However, that will take one full round to complete that and swim back to the arena, and can only be done once by anyone. It will activate on the pokemon who got it immediately after it is earned and cannot be saved.

Also, all water and ice type moves used get a power boost equal to STAB (if a pokemon already has STAB is still counts) due to the magical and plentiful properties of the water of the Miracle Sea. Water moves also take 1% less energy.

also, Mai, by 7% I'm assuming you mean any moves above 70 Base Power are banned.

Let's go with Sunny and Brick.

I want Sunny to use Confusion all the way through on Azuraine, and Brick uses Aqua Jet on Harleiquin.

Sunny- Confusion x3
Brick- Aqua Jet x3

I think I did this right...

Hehehe...

Azuraine, I want you to use Claw Sharpen and then sucker punch twice on Sunny.

Hone Claws~ Sucker Punch~ Sucker Punch@Sunny

((Not a 2x Sucker Punch combo, though that might be funny.))

Harlequin, I would like you to use Scald on Brick. If it burns him, then use grass knot, with seaweed or something if grass doesn't work. If it doesn't burn him, then use Scald. Repeat as necessary.

Scald/Grass Knot~ Scald/Grass knot~ Scald/Grass Knot@Brick

Alright, I'm going to get to reffing this tomorrow, but as far as issuing commands goes, I'mk pretty sure they shuold be formatted like

Attack~Attack/Attack~Attack/Attack/Attack@pokemon

so, just specify what pokemon you're targeting in your commands.

Alright. Here we go.

Mai Vs. Silverjade RD. 1

A week's boat ride away from Asber lays a cave leading into an underground sea of some sort. People say that the cave leads to one of those mystery dungeons, the ones that change constantly and get people lost. However, two parties decided it would be fun to go in and have a battle.

In hindsight, it probably wasn't a very good idea.

After entering the cave, Mai and SilverJade became separated after a mere 3 minutes. After enduring nearly hours of fighting their way through the dungeon, the two finally arrived in the bottom chamber. In one corner of the room, a few Phione were huddling around something glowing with a pale blue-green light, trying to protect it from an angry Gyarados. The ref was residing on a lawn chair in the middle of the arena, sipping on a soda. As the two exhausted parties finally arrived, he stood up and raised the ref flags, declaring the start of the battle.

Round One Begin!
Brick immediately starts off by shooting a stream of high pressured water to propel herself along towards Harlequin like a cannonball. Harlequin, stunned by the amazing speed of the Tirtouga’s attack, doesn’t do much to protect herself. Harlequin is hit, and is forced back a couple inches. Azuraine decides that it would be a good time to try and benefit himself through the wonders of stat-boosting moves. He runs to the nearest rock. He then begins furiously scratching at it with his claws, drawing puzzled looks from the other Pokemon. Unbeknownst to them, Azuraine’s claws were getting sharper by the moment, turning him into a more precise and efficient attacker, as well as a more powerful one. Sunny, still puzzled, decides to try her luck at attacking Azuraine. However, for some strange reason, Sunny just can’t get a mental hold of Azuraine, and even though she tries, her attack does nothing. Last to attack is Harlequin, who has been slowly heating water to a near boil inside of his mouth. He approaches Brick and sprays the boiling concoction on Brick, who recoils in pain.

Brick, mad at Harlequin for trying to boil him like a lobster, fires herself at Harlequin again. Harlequin is knocked back a bit, but not hurt as much by the water type energy. Sunny tries for confusion again, but Azuraine has a counterattack planned. He fakes a bite, and then claws Sunny across the chest in a powerful blow. Sunny is caught off guard by the attack, but nonetheless recomposes herself and attacks Azuraine. She uses psychic energy to set his senses haywire, activating several pain sensors. The Nidoran is astounded by the sudden pain, but concentrates to keep her mind from being confused. Harlequin then decides to spray Brick again with boiling water.

Brick launches herself at Harlequin yet again, still angry for the boiling spray. However, Harlequin is not so much angry then annoyed by the Tirtouga’s repetition. Sunny tries to confuse Azuraine again, but before she can, the Nidoran lunges at her and knocks her back with a dark-infused swipe. The Nidoran hits a weak spot on the Ralts, knocking her to the ground for several seconds before she manages to stand up. When she does, however, Azuraine is hit with another fierce Confusion, the searing pain almost too much to handle. Harlequin then decides to annoy brick by spraying her yet again with… what else, more boiling water. The Tirtouga begins to give Harlequin a death stare.

Arena Notes:
There is a crowd of Phione huddling around the fabled Phione Dew, and an angry Gyarados attempting to attack them. Other than that, water covers the ground.

Ref's Notes:
-Azuraine's second Sucker Punch was a critical hit, in case that wasn't apparent.
- The first Confusion missed, a 1 out of 100 chance, and I didn't quite know how to show it. I decided on it looking like Sunny couldn't get a mental grip on her target.
- Strangely, Scald didn't cause a burn any of the three times it was used.
- Repetition may be catchy, but it's also boring to word.

Next Round-
-Mai attacks.
-SilverJade attacks.
-I ref.

Isn't sucker punch supposed to flinch? It kind of sounds like it didn't in the description.

Use toxic first on Sunny, unless Sunny either protects, uses safeguard or anything that would block that attack, at which point you should use amnesia. Then use swagger, and after that beat up. If at any point someone tries to status (confusion included) you, use safeguard on the previous action.

Toxic/amnesia/safeguard~Swagger/safeguard~Beat up/safeguard

For Harlequin, I have an awesome idea. First use sword dance. Then, I want you to do an aqua tail and scald combo where you slam boiling water into Brick's face.

If Brick protects/detects/you can't hit him, then sword dance again and then swim out to the deep water. If at any point either Sunny or Brick decides to make a break for it and head for the phione dew, then at the beginning of the round forget everything and get that treasure. You're faster than them, and I want your attack against the gyarados to be tackle.

Sword dance/ Get to that gyarados!~Aqua tail/sword dance/tackle@gyarados+scald@Brick/head out to deep water/ get phione dew and swim back

... Okay, those commands were nigh incompehensible, and I'm the one who wrote it. How exactly are you supposed to do conditionals when at one point you order a combo?

Okay, idea, Brick! Use your swagger on Azuraine. Then, form a whirlpool, but make sure it doesn't go anywhere but in front of you, and when you get attacked with Hareliquin's attack, make sure it hit the whirlpool, then aim it for Azuraine.

Swagger-Whirlpool(in front of you)-Aim for Azuraine@Azuraine

And Sunny, let's get that Oshawott by starting with Pain Split. Then go with Thunder Punch twice.

Pain Split-Thunder Punch-Thunder Punch@Harlequin

Azuraine quickly waddles over towards Sunny, venom boiling in his throat. He coughs it up, much to the ralts' dismay, and hacks it all over Sunny, purple ooze dripping down the ralts's skin. Sunny tries to rub it off but it's already seeped into her system before she could let out a whimper. None of it even managed to get in the shallowish water, luckily for the other battlers.

Sunny continued to whimper, her pain growing audible to Harlequin in particular. Azuraine paddled away while the little oshawott swam closer, the ralts's pain suddenly quite gripping. He couldn't imagine why anyone would cause such pain... and he felt it... that pain, inside him, grippingat him, as if it was him that was hurting - because suddenly it was, and he gasped with a sudden fierceness as his life was drained from him and sucked towards the ralts. Sunny grabbed onto Harlequin, taking as much life as she could, but some escaped nontheless - neither one ended up with much health after the swap, and both seemed pretty bashed up. Harlequin felt worse, though, since he lost health - he was panting, bruised on his chest where his life was sucked out of.

He couldn't mope about it forever, though, and he decided instead to dance. It was a strange dance, in the shallow water, kicking water up and splashing around, but somehow he managed to increase his intensity for battle, his desire to strike and his poised-ness. All in all, the dance did its job, working on his muscles and his mind. He felt better from it, after that nasty pain split.

Brick yawned, swimming slowly towards Azuraine, and began to speed up a bit, circling the nidoran easily in the water. It was quite clear - she was mocking him. She had it so easy in this arena, and even though nidoran could swim, it was clearly not what they were intended for. Azuraine felt the blood rushing to his head, rage boiling within him, and a burning desire to cause severe and intense pain to Brick House or anyone, really. He would, too - just wait.

But right now he had other things in mind. He jumped over the water towards Sunny, mocking her just like Brick had to him, splashing water in her face rather infuriatingly. He didn't know about the pain split, so he didn't know that she was doing any better than before, and he cat-called her on how pitifully she'd done in the battle until now. And, quite frankly, it pissed her off. She wasn't doing that bad, and she'd hurt that oshawott that was his teammate, and she wanted to show him just how wrong he was. She felt pissed, really pissed, and she planned on exacting revenge.

Meanwhile, Harlequin sat down in the water, which came up to his beak, and contemplated his commands. They were so confusing even his trainer couldn't make them out! He thought - should he aqua tail someone? Or... scald? He scrunched his eyes up and thought, no - what gyarados? Who? What? There were no gyarados! Only... seadra? He looked around - yes... seadra... but they were far away. He was so confused he just sat there, nearly crying of his failure.

Sunny grinned, knowing full well she was better than Harlequin at least, and waddled over towards the oshawott. Her fist glowed with electricity and she shoved it in his face, knocking him over backwards into the water. He screamed in pain, waddling away from her into the deeper waters, and hiding underwater - he'd need to come up, but at least it was shelter for now. Sunny didn't care, not yet, because she knew she'd hurt him. And her commands were unspecific, she could punch whoever she wanted. She just chose Harlequin because he was there.

Finally, Brick gasped, sucking water in towards her by some mystical energy she had over it. The water pulled inwards, creating a chasm within it, and began to circle slowly - then faster, faster, twisting in on itself, growing so fast it sucked Azuraine into it. The nidoran yelped and tried to flee the water, but it was in vain - he was stuck. It wasn't very painful, mostly shocking to his system, but the main point was that he was stuck and couldn't get out. He swirled around, getting dizzy, completely unable to escape. Brick was both glad he managed to catch the nidoran and a bit worried, because he had nothing to do now.

Luckily, no one else did either. Azuraine's sight blurred with confusion and dizziness, and his inability to escape the whirlpool added to his already addled state of mind; he simply swirled around, stuck for anything to do. Sunny joined him in his immobility, too confused to move, simply plopping down in the water and staring at nothing in particular, wondering what she was doing here in the water-bound world. Harlequin, too, did nothing, except for hide underwater, contemplating again his indeterminable commands. And Brick had already caught Azuraine in the whirlpool, so he took a moment to do nothing as well.

- Please state a target for your attacks, SilverJade. I randomized who Sunny targeted, but next time I'll have her do nothing.
- Silver goes next.

I thought I did specifiy for Sunny to hit Harlequin with the "@Harlequin" part o.o

Anyway, Brick time to go for that Gyrados :D With the phione dew we can get Sunny back in action :D After what happens then use Aqua Jet into the whirlpool at Azuraine thennnn...use Aqua Jet just for fun at Azuraine again.

Get the Gyrados - Aqua Jet into whirlpool at Azuraine - Aqua Jet@Azuraine

Now Sunny...just chill for the first action then use safeguard to be...safe. Then use Thunder Punch again at Harlequin.

Chill - Safeguard - Thunder Punch@Harlequin

Well~! Getting the gyrados takes a whole round to complete, so I'm not entirely sure where Silver's commands come into place. Nevertheless, let's get the gyarados for ourselves!

Harlequin, swim out to the gyarados on the first action. Tackle it on the second action. After recieving the phione dew, swim back on the third action (but late enough so that Sunny can't thunderpunch you!). Whether he ends up trying to continue that command or not, you're fast enough that you'll faint it before him. Not much happening for you, but I think you're going to contribute significantly!

Swim out to phione~tackle @gyarados~ swim back to battle

I assume you being whirlpooled means you can't move, Azuraine. Oh well. Chill as well to clear your head, then beat up on Sunny if you can't move enough to attack. If you can, poison tail.

Chill~ beat up/poison tail~ beat up/poison tail

Figuring he's stuck in the whirlpool, Azuraine closes his eyes and twirls around, trying to regain as much energy as one can when being thrown around in a violent torpedo of water. Which as it turns out is a decent amount, at least considering. And Sunny joins him - not in the whirlpool, but in relaxing. Honestly they both need it, considering their state of mind. It doesn't do them much good aside from relaxing and regaining some energy, but they do need it.

Meanwhile, Harlequin bids his partner adieu and swims out to deeper shores. He has his eye on a phione, and the gyarados protecting it. It'll take him a while to get there though, he knows that, and he's willing to spend the time, because he knows what he'll earn when he does. Plus, it's too far out for anyone to reach him when he does get there - so no one will be able to harm him while he's away. Except for one of those pesky seadra, maybe...

Brick seems to have the same idea, because the tirtouga swims out, following him. She's considerably slower of course, but there's a bigger difference: she's not as clear on her orders. She seems more intent on looking for a gyarados than a phione, which, of course, means that after she finds the gyarados she has no idea what to do. Since gyarados are much easier to spot than tiny little phione, she's pretty stuck once she gets out there - which will also take a while.

Meanwhile, Azuraine opens his eyes and figures that's enough rest for now. It's about time he did something of use. But he can't figure out what that thing should be. He tries to stand up but realizes too late he's in water and ends up going under, swallowing some of it and choking, gagging, and coming back up in pain - that hurt, actually. He whimpers, realizing he's rather a fool, and decides to stay above water for now.

Sunny's stuck in the same position; the ralts is floating somewhere in between above and under water, trying to figure out what's going on. She floats under and goes a bit too low, banging her head on the ground and sucking in, choking on water like Azuraine did; she swims back up and whimpers, in equal pain. The two decide that yes, above water is a fine place to be, definitely.

Back in deeper waters, Harlequin has found himself a gyarados - a rather easy one to subdue. The oshawott bangs head-first into the behemoth, and somehow manages to take it down with one blow, as the giant thing crashes into the water with a cry of pain and shock. Harlequin grins with pride, and a bit of ego, at his handiwork, while a phione sidles over and hands him a bit of dew as a reward for saving it. Halrequin takes it, grateful - but he deserves it for taking down that gyarados, hehehe.

Brick, meanwhile, is stuck. She didn't get any dew, or take down a gyarados or even reach one, really, but she's supposed to go back now. She sighs, figuring she might as well, and sinks underwater, finding a current and following it. She uses the current's speed and reaches a surprising velocity, heading back to Azuraine within seconds and bursting into the whirlpool and simultaneously slamming into the nidoran with a crash of water. Azuraine yelps in shock, but so does Brick - she'd slammed into one of his spikes and a bit of venom seeped into her, even with her rocky exterior. Both pokemon push away from each other, not exactly friendly, but Brick is definitely a bit less pleased. She'd wanted to do that, and she's unhappy with the results.

Azuraine sighs, ignoring Brick, and gathers energy from his now-abset partner. It's not much energy, but it'll do - and he uses it to strike Sunny, though Azuraine can't see the ralts either, actually. Dark energy flows from the nidoran to the ralts, pummeling Sunny once, twice - and that's it. Sunny winces with each hit, but neither one is that strong, and she easily gets over the blows. What's more worrying, is that her intended target, Harlequin, is absent. Again. She decides to wait, holding her attack, and see if the oshawott returns.

Meanwhile, the whirlpool surrounding both Brick and Azuraine begins to weather, enough for the two pokemon to swim out. Azuraine does so gratefully, while Brick merely looks annoyed; it was her whirlpool, after all. Still, she coats herself in the water, using it to force herself forwards with tremendous speeds and slam into the nidoran who is still swimming away. Azuraine yelps and jumps away, shocked again and in pain - the pain, not as much as the shock. Brick murmurs in annoyance, quite displeased with the nidoran. He's just, well, annoying.

Sunny grins as she spots Harlequin swimming back, slowly, but surely. The ralts raises a fist, gathering electricity, and waits. As the oshawott comes closer, she waddles out, close enough, and brings her fist towards him - straight into his face. He screeches in pain, nearly dropping the phione dew he was carrying as the sparks fly through his watery body; he clings to the knowledge he'll soon be feeling much better, pushing Sunny away and diving underwater to reach Azuraine. Sunny grumbles, knowing at least she hit her target.

Harlequin finds Azuraine and smiles with relief, handing half of the dew to his teammate. Azuraine takes it, curious, and the two swallow their share... and immediately, the effects are obvious. Their wounds seem to sew themselves shut, at least somewhat, and they feel rejuvenated; Azuraine's confusion completely relieves itself. The two are looking much more ready for battle, though they clearly want more of that dew.

- Since swimming to get the phione dew takes an entire round, and Brick would have to attack the gyarados anyhow, he had no idea what to do and swam back.
- Both Azuraine and Sunny were struck by confusion on the second action.
- Azuraine's Poison Point activated on the first Aqua Jet. Aqua Jet also took a bit more energy to get from the deeper waters back to Azuraine.
- Mai goes next.

Azuraine! You are now a nidoking, how about that. Too bad you're just a nidoran here. (I am so going to exploit this experience for rare candies, unless I decide I want to give HighMoon's Halan a run for their most experienced money.) Use beat up on Sunny twice, swapping for sucker punch when applicable. Use iron tail on Brick last. If at any point Sunny or Brick protects/detects/does something so that you can't hit them use focus energy on the first action and hone claws on the second or third.

Beat up @ Sunny/Sucker punch @ Sunny/Focus energy~ Beat up @ Sunny/Sucker punch @ Sunny/Hone claws~ Iron tail @ Brick/Hone claws

And Harlequin! You are no longer mine. Hmm, I suppose your experience just goes to bulbasaur? Ah well.

... I'd put more effort into these commands but I don't really want to right now. Substitute for safety, then razor shell twice. If Brick protects/detects/does something so you can't hit him in any way, focus energy due to lack of stat boosting options.

Substitute~ Razor shell @ Brick/Focus energy~ Razor shell @ Brick/Focus energy
