I still don't quite understand why these were released on the Wii. They would have done much better on the 360 or PS3.

Well, Xenoblade was released on the Wii because Nintendo owns Monolith Soft, more or less; they're a first party developer for them now. Not sure why about Pandora's Tower, and The Last Story was a collaboration between Mistwalker and Nintendo.
If I remember correctly though, Nintendo pretty much had a hand in all three RPGs that came out on the Wii this year (Well, technically last year for Xenoblade lol), and more or less paid Mistwalker and Ganbarion for Story and Pandora.
