• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Kusarigamaitachi vs Aethelstan

Ralts, hm? Figures. Least I know who's coming out next.

Softboiled to start, then chill twice.

If he tries to snatch your softboiled, endeavor and move softboiled over to the next action, unless you've already endeavored, in which case chill.

Magic coat away taunt, torment, and encore, and if your substitute is gone, will-o-wisp and thunder wave.

Softboiled / Endeavor / Magic Coat ~ Chill / Softboiled / Magic Coat x2

Boring Field

Boring Field was not named for it's horribly mundane appearance, but for it's discoverer Frederick Boring. Nonetheless, it's still a very, very boring field. It's nearly perfectly flat, with a nicely trimmed layer of lush green grass. The dirt underneath is sturdy yet soft, with the occasional rock or boulder beneath the ground. The sun always shines above with a few fluffy clouds, making the field a nice temperate location. The battlefield is position near two small ponds, large enough to hold most aquatic Pokemon, albeit without much elbow room for some of the larger ones. The ponds are symmetrically positioned on either side of the battlefield, which is rectangular in shape. Yes there is literally nothing interesting about this field. Which is exactly why it's the perfect place for a battle.

- "Eeeh...!"

Upon being released into Boring Field, there really is nothing else for Terrowin to take notice of other than Draco Meteor. The ralts hesitates, linking minds completely with the cleffa, and he finds himself mimicking Draco - only smalls things, like Draco's strange inattention to bodily harm. While this is certainly pleasing, Terrowin can't help but feel a strong empathy for the cleffa's current condition; so strained, so weak. He feels the hurt himself, and it hurts bad.

But it won't last long. Draco closes his eyes and hums a bit, absentmindedly, waving his stubby hands before him. Glowing energy materializes under his arms, forming solidly into a familiar shape - an egg. The energy shimmers and fades, and the egg drops into his hands, only now losing its strange float-in-the-air-with-no-assistance abilities; Draco opens his eyes and grins at Terrowin, as if inviting the ralts to stop him. Because not only has he just taken down Terrowin's teammate, but he's now going to take down him.

Draco's mouth opens wide - wider - huge - and he swallows the egg hole. Terrowin stares in shock, unsure of what just happened, while Draco chews absentmindedly, and then swallows the egg with glee; the energy that formed it rushes through him, sealing his wounds and healing his bruises, making him feel almost nearly brand-new. There is the downside that it took a crapload of energy to make the egg - literally a crapload, like when you take one - but for now it seems worth it, knowing his commands.

Terrowin's eyes narrow in fury. He can feel the cleffa's state, and he knows that it's no longer in pain. Well, a bit of pain, but not like before. His empathy battles his desire to win, and the former easily gives out. He raises his left hand, purplish energy shimmering around it, and Draco's substitute simply shatters into pieces, tiny mud-bits splattering onto Draco's face. This only serves to infuriate Terrowin more, as the ralts had been aiming for Draco Meteor himself; Draco wipes off the mud, a bit despondent at the sudden loss of his substitute. Well, better it than him, he supposes.

Not worried, Draco plops backwards into the grass, closing his eyes and drifting into his Mind Palace. His comfort is disturbed rather quickly though when his lost substitute is made clear: Terrowin sneers, pressing in on the cleffa's poor thoughts. Draco shivers, trying to chill despite the pain, and after it's gone he manages a bit; but it's quite hard, relaxing, when there's a devil ralts after your brains.

And quite suddenly the wind rushes through the field, so powerful it tosses both Draco and Terrowin into the air; the trees, bushes, leaves all flipped by the wind; and within seconds the rush of air is gone, dropping Draco and Terowin back down only a foot or so from where they'd picked up. Everything seems completely normal, or exactly wrong, or maybe it was wrong before, it's hard to tell, but it's definitely different, completely different.

Draco and Terrowin take a moment to contemplate the sudden change, and when they're sure nothing's going to explode, Terrowin realizes he's suddenly able to move faster than Draco - if only barely. He grins, more psychic energy spreading from him to Draco, and the cleffa whimpers in pain; can't a guy get a break around here? He closes his eyes and tries to ignore the pain, relaxing, and when the psychic ends he manages a lot better, but there is that nagging headache. He can't wait to rip the damned ralts a new one.

Arena Notes:
None.

Final Notes:
- I am so blocked right now so have this excuse for a reffing.
- Trick Room faded at the end of the second action.
- The first psychic was a critical hit, ironically.
- Draco gained less energy due to Psychic disturbances.
- Aethelstan next.

Aethelstan is DQ'd. Draco Meteor gets 1 exp/2 happiness, The Little One in the Flask gets 1 exp, Terrowin gets 1 exp, Hadrian gets 1 exp; Kusari gets $8, I get $5 and Aethelstan gets nada.
