Going with Rex >:3 You're going down Spunky. Okay, the first round is when the pokemon are at their prime, so I need some status moves. So first use Hone Claws twice. Then, use a Toxic.

I had the same thought!

Well, let's see. If I remember how these moves work...
Increase your power with a couple Nasty Plots, then Tail Whip the f**k out of him.

Both pokemon stare each-other down for a moment, but only a very brief moment. Quite quickly, they forget about each other - or at least Rex does. He spreads out his tiny claws and begins to scratch away at the hard pavement, sharpening them slowly but surely. It's hard to notice any difference, but Rex can definitely feel his claws are sharper, and it will certainly aid with hitting the little pichu more accurately later on.

Meanwhile, Pichu has been rumbling to himself about all the sordid ways he intends to destroy his opponent. He smirks devilishly, quite a fearsome sight on a tiny pichu; his thoughts are pure evil. Oh, he has plans. Definite plans... and he can't wait to enact them.

It'll have to wait though, because he has more plans! He rubs his paws together, a storm of though going on in his tiny little head. He just can't hold all these thoughts in! He giggles; maybe he can rip out the sandile's tail... he wonders if it grows back like a gecko's... hahaha... what a terrible thought! Oh, he's bad, he is.

Rex blinks in wonder at the strange expressions covering the pichu's face, but doesn't wait before flexing his claws and starching away at the pavement. By now his claws are becoming more noticeable; still small, of course, but sharp and threatening, surely. He grins, ready to rip things up!

For now though, he's content to stall. He gurgles, a dark toxic brewing up from his stomach and dripping from his fangs; he stomps towards the plotting pichu and spits the venom all over his face. Pichu yelps in shock, wiping the toxic off as fast as he could, but it's already sunk into his bloodstream; he gags, feel the nausea already. Uhg, this won't be pleasant.

Unfortunately all he has after all that planning, right now, is a measly wag of his tag. Rex flexes his head, watching delightedly, and he allows his defense to fall a bit; surely a cute pichu couldn't harm him that much? Aww.

Well, that didn't go as planned. But at least the Tail Whip worked? A little?
Anway, it's obvious we're not going to win with Electric-Type moves, so let's look at what you learn by TM, shall we?
Rest up, because Bulbapedia says you can, then come back with more Tail Whips.

Okay, since it's using Rest on the first turn, it would be pointless to use an attacking move. So to start off, use Double Team. Afterwards, use a Bulldoze. Finally, use a Toxic to make up for the one lost by Rest.

Before Rex can say a word, Pichu blinks his steady eyes and falls to the city ground, suddenly fast asleep. Rex stares in confusion: what the hell. Why would his opponent go to sleep on him right at the beginning of a battle? Unless this is some weird crazy trick, but no - that pichu is definitely sound asleep. Rex can tell by the occasional, definitely not-fake snore. Rex mumbles to himself; whatever, weird pichu does weird things, not his problem. For now, he focuses on his commands; he kicks off, running circles around the sleeping pichu, going faster and faster until his image blurs together, creating a speeding blur of tan. It's hard to keep track of him - it looks like there are multiple sandile running about, and when Rex slows down, it's shown that indeed there are. One, two, three... fourfive sevem sandile, standing steady in front of Pichu, waiting impatiently.

Pichu murmurs in his sleep and rolls over lazily, but definitely doesn't move to wag his tail. Rex and his clones grunt, but don't bother waiting before all seven slam into the cement below, sending a ripple of pavement towards the slumbering pichu. The ground below Pichu shakes so hard his bones feel like moosh; his teeth chatter and he bounces up and down, hitting the ground over and over, but he doesn't wake up. It's as if he's in some sort of trance, kept asleep no matter what happens. Finally the ground steadies, but there are definite cracks left over in the pavement showing proof of the attack.

Rex doesn't wait anymore before starting his attack; after the bulldoze, he's officially the faster of the two. He coughs and gags, bringing up more of that nasty purple sludge from somewhere in his stomach. A few steps forwards to bring him closer to his sitting duck of a target, and he spits up the toxic all over Pichu. He grins as the sleeping pichu gags in his sleep, rolling over but unable to even wipe off the poison; it's clear, though, that Pichu is soon going to wake up. He's moving around, murmuring, fluttering his eyes a bit even. Rex backs away, ready to faces what's coming.

Rex grins, not hesitating before slamming his sharpened paws into the heavy cement - and of course all his clones mimic his movement, so fast that they're impossible to tell apart. The ground ripples to life again, cracking even further as it shakes towards Pichu; the sleeping mouse bounces up and down as the ground shivers underneath him. The shaking is so intense that he finally wakes up upon smacking his head on the ground; his bones are all shaken up and he feels pretty bruised, so it takes him a moment to steady himself. He blinks and rubs his eyes, confused as to how he feels even worse now, after his rest, than before. And that nauseous feeling is back again - dammit.

Rather unsteadily, Pichu gets down on all fours and runs towards Rex and his clones, determining one on random to target. He smacks straight into the sandile - and then straight through it, the clone fizzing out of existence on impact. Pichu skids to a stop, shaking his head warily; what a waste.

Rex grins, proud of his clonework. His grin stretches wide, revealing not only sharp, pointy teeth, but a deep, viscous liquid, which drips to the ground below and smokes like acid upon hitting the cement. And of course, all the clones mimic the grin, so when Rex charges in to attack, it appears as if six sandile are charging the poor pichu. Only one bite is solid, though; the fangs bite down on pichu's tiny chest, the dark acid-like energy searing into him. Pichu yelps in pain, shoving the sandile off, but he's already let go - and even more, the clones are flickering in and out, revealing the true sandile. It appears that, upon contact, a stray spark found its way towards Rex from pichu's staticy coat; Rex twitches, finding it difficult to move now, and his concentration on his clones fades in and out.

Pichu rubs the tiny specks of blood dripping from his new bite wound, frowning. Oh well. He gets up and runs towards the now-obvious Rex, slamming headfirst into the sandile. It's a light impact, but upon being hit, his clones finally fade completely into nonexistence. Rex grumbles, rubbing his chest where he'd been hit; it barely hurt at all but he already misses his clones. Stupid pichu.

Oh well, no use crying over lost clones. Rex smacks his tail on the hard, cracked cement. The ground beneath seems to groan, as if responding to him; he smacks his tail again, and some dirt flares up from the cracks, taking to the sky in a burst of wind. Another smack, and a huge, sudden burst of dirt flies up from the cracks, rushing across the city with tremendous force. Sand, dirt, even gravel keeps flowing upwards from the cracks in the pavement, filling the air until little can be seen; it scrapes harshly against pichu's fur, getting in his eyes, nose and ears. He curls up, but the sand really hurts, and he can barely see Rex through the storm. Rex, on the other hand, is completely at ease, comfortable as if this was his home.

Pichu puts a paw above his eyes, spotting Rex, and runs forwards. He slams into the sandile again; as before, the impact is negligible, but it doesn't mean Rex enjoys it. The sandile growls in annoyance, while pichu backs away, uncomfortable in the sand.

Things are looking up! Despite the static, we're doing quite well! Okay, due to the static, Pichu is obviously faster, so use Payback. Afterwards, use a Fire Fang since we no longer have to worry about static. And, to prevent it from using Rest again, use Uproar.

Pichu steadies himself, now close enough to Rex that it's rather unlikely for him to miss his target, and races forwards, slamming into the sandile. Again, the impact isn't much to write home about - but Rex braces himself from the the attack, a dark glow coating him as he swings back and unleashes twice the energy he'd been hit with, and more. Pichu yelps as Rex's tail slams down on him, dark acidic energy burning into his fur, and quickly scurries away from the sandile, whimpering all the while. He checks out his newly forming bruise - a big one, hard to miss through the burnt fur on his back. He whimpers as the sand blows hard against him, and the nausea takes its toll; he does not feel well about this battle.

But he isn't about to give up. He turns his back towards Rex and begins to wag his tail, like before; unfortunately, Rex can't even see him through all the sand. Of course, pichu can't know this, and keeps wagging his tail in a futile attempt to distract his opponent, wasting his time. The sandile is preoccupied with his own dilemma: he's commanded to attack the pichu, but his muscles are beginning to convulse on him. It seems an ironic sort of fair, since they didn't stop him from attacking last round at all - not that he was going to complain, or that he's thankful for this bout of bad luck. He grits his teeth and bares it, because he can't do anything else.

Pichu turns back to face Rex, unaware that his tail whip failed entirely. He's glad to spot the sandile pretty quickly, and begins to cough up some nasty phlegm to gift to his opponent. He takes a step closer, and then hurls the toxins all over the sandile. Rex tries to react, to rub off the toxic, but once again his muscles are frozen entirely, and he can't do anything to stop the poison from seeping into his skin except moan in disgust. Pichu grins, finally reaping some revenge.

Pichu sneers at Rex, determined to enact some revenge, no matter how weak and beat up he feels. He thinks up tons of terrible deeds to do to the sandile, building on the thoughts he'd had earlier; his mind literally races with evil, and he simply can't wait to put these thoughts to use. Unfortunately, Rex's evil thoughts come into play quite a bit sooner: the sandile grins wickedly and slams heavily into the cement. The ground shivers, rippling louder and stronger than any time he'd struck it before - and the shivering under pichu's tiny body is so hard that the little thing can't even stay upright. He falls down, banging his little head, and yelps in pain; the ground keeps shaking, though, for way too long for comfort. Only after what feels like his entire body is covered in bruises does it stop, and by then the entire ground is ripped up, making it quite difficult for the pichu to get to his feet. Not to mention that his feet are shaking from the sheer pain; he whimpers, wishing he could do that much damage to the stupid sandile and make it feel what he felt.

Instead, for now, he'll have to settle for getting rid of the sand that torments him. He turns his sad little face skyward, begging the heavens above to stop the sand, and quite suddenly a flood of rain floods down on the arena, pouring over the sand and coating the two battlers in mud. In fact, the entire city is covered in mud - sticky, sticky mud. The pouring rain will wash it away after a while, draining it down the many cracks in the ground formed by Rex's bulldozes and earthquakes, but for now everything is mud. Mud and rain.

Rex doesn't mind. He flashes pichu a grin before diving into one of the cracks he's formed, disappearing within seconds. Pichu stares, worried - who's he to attack if his opponent is nowhere to be seen? He whimpers fearfully; this isn't looking too good. Pichu steps uneasily from foot to foot. He figures Rex will show up in a minute, and then he'll tackle him. And he's almost right.

Down below, Rex digs upwards, right under the shifting pichu. He's only a few feet under his target, and moving fast despite his paralysis - and within seconds he pops up under the pichu, smacking him hard with his claws and tossing him aside. Pichu yelps, both from the hit and then again when he hits the ground - but the second yell is quieter, and he doesn't move to get up. Rex takes a step closer and can tell that the pichu's eyes are closed; he grins again. Well... guess that means he won.
