The Battle takes place in a nice garden. It's very green and well-kept, full of rose bushes and flowers and small trees and what have you. It's a good-sized garden, about 150 feet square. There is a large birdhouse in a clump of bushes in each corner, and bird Pokemon can be seen gathered there sometimes. A pond is in the top-left corner. There are no hazards here...except one.

A large white Gazebo is in the dead centre of the arena, and it's about 30 ft across, 15 ft high, with a pointed top. If it is hit with an attack, it will animate and start to attack the battlers. When animated, it resembles a white wooden dragon. It joins the battle with 50% health and 50% energy, is a Grass type, and can use the following attacks: Body Slam, Slash, Wood Hammer, Synthesis, Scratch, Headbutt, Crush Grip, Defense Curl, Giga Impact, Bulldoze, Quash, and Heavy Slam. It's base speed is 80, and it weighs 250 lbs. It acts on the Ref's orders.

Scarlet crouched and braced herself against the ground as a faint green dome enclosed her. Pain flickered in her eyes. The repeated bug-type assaults were really taking their toll on her; she’d best avoid another one. Unfortunately, sharp-eyed Sunnyside managed to detect the impenetrable barrier Scarlet had raised. The Larvesta turned away and closed her large blue eyes, meditating deeply. She focused on her breathing, letting awareness spread through her being, filtering out any distractions – even the rain ceased to bother her. Sighing, Sunnyside felt her inner power begin to emerge.

Protects are very difficult to maintain, given the sheer amount of energy and concentration needed. Scarlet let her shield fall, panting. Almost immediately, Sunnyside lunged forward, little teeth bared. Scarlet flinched away, but she couldn’t save her paw from being bitten. Growling, Sunnyside held on tight, pumping bug energy into the little wounds. A burning pain pulsed through Scarlet’s paw and she shrieked, redoubling her efforts to shake her foe off. Sunnyside was shaken off to land in the grass with a soft thump, though she immediately scrambled to her feet, looking unharmed.

Before Sunnyside could properly recover, Scarlet opened her own mouth, teeth dripping not with bug energy but with pure darkness. A sharp exhalation brought a wave of shadows that crashed onto Sunnyside, sucking away all light and plunging the Larvesta’s world into darkness. She was temporarily blinded and whimpered as the malevolent power nipped at her exoskeleton. Abruptly, the darkness faded; Sunnyside felt twin stabs of pain as her diluted pupils struggled to adjust to the sunlight.

At least Bug Buzz did not require her vision. Sunnyside breathed in deeply, then let it out slowly as she realized the raindrops were being stopped by some invisible force before they reached Scarlet. She must be crouching behind another shield. The bug felt a twinge of irritation, then immediately calmed herself. If Scarlet wanted to drag the battle on, so be it. She would just have to face a stronger Larvesta in the end. Again, Sunnyside honed her mind, coaxing her inner powers even closer to the surface. She could hardly wait to test her sharpened mental abilities on her opponent.

The exhausted Scarlet soon let her shield fall, looking annoyed as well as exhausted. Seeing her opportunity, Sunnyside took a deep breath, but the referee brought the round to a close before she produce another terrible buzzing. The Larvesta pouted. Next round, then.

Zora attacks first this round.
Night Daze just barely rolled for the accuracy drop, so it will fade at the end of next round.

Meh. Might as well try to do as much damage as possible.

Sunnyside’s newfound power was soon put to good use. Her trainer issued commands with a BZZZ, and Sunnyside reproduced the sound. The noise that came out of Sunnyside’s throat, though, was much louder and more irritating and, unfortunately for her, focused at Scarlet. The little quadruped whined and laid her ears back, but that provided little protection against the Bug Buzz. Nausea swept over her as the attack progressed; the incessant buzzing was making her feel positively sick.

At last the noise died down and Scarlet twitched her ears. They were still ringing. Whimpering in pain, she realized that she was unlikely to survive another attack. Yet there was little hope of knocking Sunnyside out before her next move: the bug still looked very healthy. Nevertheless, Scarlet bared her teeth and rushed at Sunnyside, determined to give her a scar to remember her by. With her claws she opened a long cut in the Larvesta’s side. Sunnyside reared back with a grimace of pain.

The attack was fairly tolerable, though, and Sunnyside began to click her tongue for the final blow. Terrible buzzing filled the arena, causing a few of the weaker garden citizens to drop out of trees and the gazebo in the center to twitch violently. Scarlet wailed as her eardrums were assaulted yet again – she was faintly surprised that they hadn’t burst yet. The nausea returned tenfold and the poor Zorua retched, then collapsed, unable to remain steady. Still the buzzing continued. Mercifully, Scarlet did not remain conscious for long.

Final notes
The second Bug Buzz was a critical hit (not that it mattered).
Scarlet fainted on the second action.

The final Bug Buzz was the straw that broke the camel’s back: with a great creaking of wood and a furious roar, the gazebo sprang to life, taking the shape of a dragon and using newfound limbs to rampage around the garden. Panicked Pidgey, Taillow, and Pidove flapped off, while Rattata and Sentret scurried into deep undergrowth to hopefully remain unnoticed.

The gazebo was not interested in them, though. Instead it stomped towards Sunnyside, intending to give the bug a good smack for ruining its slumber. Hastily Coloursfall recalled his Pokemon, while Zora did the same. The gazebo gave a frustrated snarl as its target dissolved into red light, then started towards the trainers instead. They scattered while the referee quickly sent a message to the ASB League to call for an Abra, pronto. Thankfully the psychic managed to Teleport the trainers and referee to safety before they were pounded. It was in the safety of ASB Central that the trainers received their cash prizes.

The battle is over and Coloursfall is the winner. He gets $16, and Big Daddy and Sunnyside both get 2 EXP.
Zora of Termina gets $6. Scarlet gets 2 EXP while Cyndra gets 1.
I get $10 for reffing.
