• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Flarginsnarf vs. Minnow

Ok, Harold, I think we're close. We should be able to outlast this. I don't think that Roxx can get to you down there without expending too much energy, and she seems content to keep on attacking whilst exhausted, so why don't you just keep on Chilling, when/if you wake up.

One more thing, if you find yourself awake and you really can't stand it anymore down there, feel free to break out with an Eruption. Hang in there!

Just an average, elliptical shaped Colosseum, nothing special about it.

Round Five: Begin

The last wisps of heavy gray smoke are slowly dissolving into nothing and the prone figure of Roxx comes into clear view at last. The Remoraid is still sleeping, but now she is twitching fitfully and her jaws are working as if she is trying to make a sound. The sound she eventually produces is an ugly squelching noise as a jet of cloudy water escapes her mouth. With Harold still curled up beneath the earth and trying to take it easy, however, the octazooka simply spatters uselessly on the clay arena.

If her eyes were open Roxx would be able to see now that the smokescreen is gone, but she continues to mumble in her restless sleep. Tiny pinpricks of golden light form before her mouth this time, each one stretching and twisting into a sparkling star before zipping forward and banking hard so that they dive straight down Harold's tunnel. The wall of earth the Cyndaquil set up before entering his healing trance, however thin it may be, stops the energy stars in their tracks before they can reach him; unaware that his defenses have just been tested, Harold naps for just a little bit longer before opening his eyes. Suffocating darkness, much less comforting than that he saw behind closed eyelids, is all that greets him; he shudders and backs up against the far wall of his tunnel, desperate for a little more room to maneuver.

Roxx is now twitching and snuffling into wakefulness aboveground, and she is disheartened to see that Harold is nowhere to be found even without the smokescreen hampering her vision. That horrible little fire rodent could be anywhere... not wanting to take chances, she tries to even the odds by making it difficult for her opponent to aim. But she's tired, so very tired... restoring her health and tending to her injuries at such a rapid, unnatural pace has all but drained the little Remoraid of her stamina. Working up enough speed for a proper double team, let alone on dry land where her flippers are virtually useless, is simply too much for her to manage. Roxx tries to roll over once, twice, and when she flops onto her side for the third time she cannot move any longer. The velvety blackness of unconsciousness slides over her eyes and she slips away, too tired to continue. Flarginsnarf calls his Pokémon back into her ball with a dejected sigh before giving Minnow a good-natured handshake, and the colosseum staff break out their shovels to pull a victorious, if nervous and thoroughly bewildered, Harold from his earthen prison.

Round Five: Close

Post-Round Stats

Team Flarginsnarf (0/1 Pokémon Remaining)

Remoraid
Roxx (F) [Sniper]
Health: 100%
Energy: 0%
Status: Knocked out due to fatigue

Team Minnow (1/1 Pokémon Remaining)

Cyndaquil
Harold (M) [Blaze]
Health: 100%
Energy: 48%
Status: Has no idea what just happened

Arena Status: The heavy smokescreen has dissipated at last. Four small holes dot the ground around Roxx, and a larger hole, the result of the eruption, is just behind her. Yet another hole, closer to the north end of the arena and approximately five feet deep, hid Harold until a few moments ago.

Ref's Notes
-Roxx's first Sleep Talk called Octazooka and her second called Swift. Octazooka missed, obviously; Swift would have hit had Harold's barrier of earth not been in the way.
-The smokescreen (not that it mattered much at this point) faded at the end of the first action.
-Both Pokémon woke up at the end of the second action.
-Roxx fainted due to energy loss on the third action.
-The match is over and Minnow is the winner. He gets $8 and Harold gets 2 exp. Flarginsnarf gets $3 and Roxx gets 1 exp. I get $5 for reffing.
