Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

I just trawled through the entire thread, as it seems I missed some requests. I noticed a Feebas I had entirely skipped. So, that first, eh?

Ugly
My Mama swore that it didn't matter,
What we looked like, not at all.
When she said it I just looked at her,
Wondering if pride came before a fall.

I was always ugly, at least in my eyes,
Fat lips, ugly color, pudgy, revolting.
Think of it, the sheer surprise,
When he proposed to me I was jolting.

Apply the pressure, warmth of his presence,
With love came children, with children, bliss,
I was finally loved, placed in reverence,
Who could ask for any more than this?

Life moved on, and rolled the hole time,
There were ups, there were downs,
But all in all, it was really pretty fine,
Troubles slid from our rubbery downs.

But, then the human came,
Fished for a day and a night
And to my eternal shame,
I took the bate, sacrificed
A life.

I was his, a possession,
He treated me so kind
But I hated the transgression,
Wanted time to rewind.

He fed me dry meals,
I ate it up-so thick!
Soon, different I feel,
I became a Milotic.

The wish I had once wished had come finally true,
I was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen,
I would have traded it all for home, and my right fin, too.
To the old me this choice would have seemed obscene.

So I made my escape,
Empowered by my transformation,
Ran whilst he slape,
Slithered home to my former location.

It wasn't hard,
Didn't travel too far,
But I was now scarred,
Yes, beauty a scar.

None believed who I was, no,
They did not think they could evolve,
I tried to convince them to let me home,
But their trust of me was in full-dissolve.

My children turned me away,
Tears show my eternal regret,
I scar myself every day,
Haven't paid beauty's price yet.

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

Great poem. A nice twist to a Feebas's transformation as being beautiful has a price.

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

Thankyou, Kirby-Chan.
Now, for Latias...
(Takes deep breath).

Duality
What do you think?
That we are both clones?
Same lives, same living,
Same blood, same bones?

I guess that's true,
Yes yes, maybe,
But we are different, too,
Me and him, him and me.

We are not two sides,
Of the exact same coin,
We differ in our minds,
And though in opinion we join...

I am not him,
He is not me,
We are separate,
Entities.

I like to fly high,
He liked to fly low,
I'll take it by and by,
For him, only just so.

I like the warm heat,
He liked the cool breeze,
I strongly hate defeat,
He takes it with ease.

I am a liberalist,
I say what I think,
To get a drop from him
He must be at the brink.

We are different, but you,
Act as if we are all the same,
We are similar, that is true,
But we differ more than just in name.

Don't I deserve differentiation?
What have I done to be a twin?
My triumphs deserve great celebration,
But at least half of all credit goes to him.

I feel no sympathy, no self pity,
Only anger and righteous defiance!
There's more to me than duality,
There's will, reserve, self reliance.

I will not suffer by him,
He should not suffer by me,
My win should be my win,
Of the Latia label I wish to be free.

So as I take to the air and fly,
I feel chained by prejudice, though I am free,
We are different minds, he and I,
We'll prove ourselves different people, you'll see.

Yes, you'll soon see,
We're more than duality.

SCEPTILE! (And Dialga soon).

King Of The Forrest
A branch is much more than a branch,
It's a gateway, a path, choice,
Risk the tree coming down in an avalanche,
Or take a leap across the void.

A limb is much more than a limb,
It's a bed, a place to sleep,
Pick it wisely, for if it's too thin,
You'll never awake from the slumber so deep.

A tree is much more than a tree,
It's a house, a living, a home
You defend your home bravely,
Or at the end you end up with none.

A leaf is much more than a leaf,
It's a pillow, or more often, cover,
Sneak up on prey, quiet as a thief,
Mop your mouth when the meal is over.

A nut is much more than a nut,
It's a lifesaver, a joy, a meal,
Always delectable, delicious-but,
Best saved for later, I feel.

A king is much more than a king,
He's a husband, a father, a man.
The King Of The Forrest has not throne nor ring,
He simply does the best that he can.

Amazing poems, as always! I felt so sorry for the Feebas/Milotic. The Latias one was an interesting take on Latias and Latios' close relationship. The Sceptile one was cool too, though there is one spelling mistake - I'm pretty sure it's 'forest', with one 'r'. Still good, though :)

When you get around to it, try Squirtle next.

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

Dialga, than on to Squirtle.

Twisted Perspective
The dead, they dance,
Before my very eyes.
They love so much, in a trance,
He will end in swift surprise.

She will last a long year,
Full of only painful breaths,
And travel to a building near,
And leap, adding to the deaths.

But they dance together now,
Before my very bloodshot eyes,
I want to warn them, but how?
What words could they take from my noise?

My mind is as mad as a hatter,
My perspective is twisted, wrong,
Together all the moments shatter,
Dead people never stay dead for long.

Now I'm shaking, cold,
He, too, but for regret,
Because the man of old,
I see should not be born yet.

Even though her hope is gone,
She moves along, but I know her fate,
Though she moves along, moves along,
I know she's moving too slow, too late.

Everything is broken, now,
I can not survive, now,
Order won't be woken, now,
The dead are alive, now.

The girl who hopes her love will come back,
Wastes her life for the sake of a bird that's flown,
If I just told her she'd get her life on track,
But then she's a little girl, than an old, bitter crone-
And then, of course, she's gone.

It's the little things I remember,
Like how he'll never forget her,
Pieces of the storm I can discember,
Like how the father didn't let her...

And my own future to me is clear,
As I stand here on insanity's border,
My future is to be spent forever here,
Seeing fragmented lives with no order.

I'm screaming at the prison of my mind,
Captured, twisted, in this sorrow of a life.

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

'Come out, come out', you say.
'I only want to be your friend'.
The young boy can beg all day,
I'll still be in here, in the end.

Safe in here, safe in my shell,
From the one who took me,
To he that begs, I say 'Go to hell'.
No friend here, send me back, see?

I was raised, just for this,
I exist to be trained by the young.
That is it, my only purpose,
Well, I'm broken. Get another one.

Send me back, I had family,
Send me back, where I had friends,
This home is not a home to me,
Send me back if you want to make amends.

You don't understand,
My words don't hit,
No, they just land,
At your feet in a pit.

Days go by,
I soften my heart,
Maybe I could try,
To make a start?

His face is round with tears,
This is probably been his dream,
And I've fulfilled his greatest fears,
He's a good kid, I've been mean.

I suppose I could accept my fate,
Go out with him, make some new friends,
I just hope it's not far too late,
Hope he'll accept my humble amends.

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

AWESOME POEMS!!!

Can you make a Charmander one?

Re: Inside The Minds Of Pokémon

No, Rizadon, NEVER!!!!
...
Yeah, Okay.

My tail is like a candlestick,
That never burns itself out,
Even in darkness heavy and thick,
My light will shine throughout.

Though this is helpful in a cave,
It's awful when it comes to night,
Instead of sleep we rant and rave,
Who could slumber with all the light?

We must be careful where we sit,
That's really quite a shame,
Vegetation, if our tails land on it,
We send the forest up in flames.

Life is fairly easy now,
Our parents keep us fed,
With healthy portions from the cow,
That the humans have bred.

Our fathers take to the sky,
And come back with lots of meat,
Plenty for the pack and I,
Every day we eat a small feast.

Sometimes the human come,
And try to capture us young,
The number that returned-none.
Our fathers slay every one.
