Grass King vs Blazheirio889

Hell, wow. That went a lot better than I thought it would.

I'll send out my Cyndaquil, Khao. Go rip that weird giraffe into pieces >:|

Okay Janus, start off with Thunder Wave. Next use an Agility and Zen Headbutt combo. If Cyndaquil protects on the first action, then use Calm Mind. If it protects on the second action, then use Future Sight, and then Double Team.

Thunder Wave/Calm Mind ~ Agility + Zen Headbutt/ Future Sight ~ Nothing/Double Team

(And giraffe is not weird, he's just normality challenged!)

Hmm hmm... This looks a bit like a toughie. Well then, let's try something... fun.

Quick Attack + Double Team + Rollout. Technically Rollout won't be a part of the combo - it'll just be executed after the Quick Attack + Double Team.

So, use the Quick Attack + Double Team to go uber-fast, so you can make more clones than you usually would. Do not hit Janus with the Quick Attack, though. Try to keep your speed from Quick Attack as long as you can. If that means you have to expend more energy, so be it. After you've made your clones (There should be a bunch so your chances of getting hit are slim), roll into a little ball and use that speed boost from Quick Attack to power up your Rollout. I don't think you can aim when your face is buried in your chest, but if you can somehow, aim for Janus's neck to bowl her over.

...If that's not possible (It seems very plausible to me, but I have a very active imagination), then do the same thing, but replace Rollout with Body Slam. Aim for Janus's neck, like I said before. Make sure you do not let her get up. You're very light, but she was ordered to use Agility + Zen Headbutt, so how's she supposed to do that when her feet aren't touching the ground?

Okay, so:
Quick Attack + Double Team + Rollout ~ Nothing ~ Nothing
or
Quick Attack + Double Team + Body Slam ~ Nothing ~ Nothing

(And I think anything with 2 brains is weird >:/)

Team Grass (1/2 Pokémon Remaining)

Girafarig
Janus (M) [Early Bird]
Move Mod: Assist
Health: 78%
Energy: 100%
Status: ...what the hell
Janus's Commands: Thunder Wave/Calm Mind ~ Agility + Zen Headbutt/Future Sight ~ Nothing/Double Team

Cyndaquil
Khao (M) [Blaze]
Health: 100%
Energy: 100%
Status: Rubbing his eyes to adjust to the blaring white
Khao's Commands: Quick Attack + Double Team + Body Slam/Quick Attack + Double Team + Body Slam ~ Nothing ~ Nothing

Arena: Doubleland

A pure, white, completely flat void. When needed, the sun will appear, or water, or ice, or sand, or rocks, or anything else needed for moves. However, in the ground, there is a massive "x2" painted in black.

In this arena, everything goes for double. Double damage, double energy. Effects of moves, such as status effects, remain the same though, although poison and burn will still do twice as much damage as usual.

Round Five: Begin

The last Pokémon to appear is a lively little Cyndaquil, who immediately shuts his narrow eyes as a rush of blaring, empty whiteness hits him. He rubs his eyes for a few seconds to that he can adjust to the feeling of snow-blindness. Janus the Girafarig, winded as he is, has had a bit more time to acclimate to the bizarre, white expanse that is Doubleland; his main head glares across the field at the Cyndaquil, who has broken into a run. Khao's tiny limbs work furiously to carry him across the battlefield, running back and forth in front of Janus instead of at him; in moments he is nothing but a blur of black and beige. As he moves ever faster a line of eight more Cyndaquil seems to fall away behind him, nine little fire-types now streaking across the area. Janus relaxes for the moment--this is just a slightly faster double team, but a double team none the less. Nothing that unusual--and then Khao and his clones change direction, curl up into tight little balls and roll straight at the Girafarig's legs. Janus balks and tries to back up, but the nine Cyndaquil collide with him in a quick, brutal rollout; only one of them, the real Khao, actually makes contact, but his momentum is more than enough to knock Janus's feet out from under him. The Girafarig falls forward in a jumbled heap of long legs and hooves, and Khao and his clones roll to a stop behind him.

Sixty seconds of frantic thrashing and struggling to rise finally sees Janus standing again, and when he has regained his footing he is understandably quite upset. He growls, his tail-head's teeth gnash angrily, and a thin, whitish spark arcs between the knobs on his two horns. A weak jolt of electricity shoots forward and hits one of the Cyndaquil panting some distance away; Janus snorts irritably when his target simply vanishes on contact with the thunder wave, nothing more than an immaterial clone. Khao smiles weakly as he sucks in air. He's never battled in an arena like this before, and although he anticipated the combo taking a bit out of him he hadn't realized that he'd feel quite this tired. No, he really didn't need paralysis to deal with on top of that.

The eight remaining Cyndaquil stretch out on the floor, still tired, and so Janus takes advantage of Khao's tiredness to launch an attack without fear of immediate repercussions. He, too, dashes forward at breakneck speed, his swift, smooth gallop loosening up his limbs as he goes. His lowered head glows with purplish psychic energy, adding extra oomph to the headbutt that strikes one of the Cyndaquil in the center; the extra oomph was quite unnecessary, however, as he passes straight through the clone and leaves the real Khao untouched. He canters to a halt and snarls again--this double team nonsense is more of a headache than it's worth.

-Double Team created 8 clones.
-Both of Janus's attacks hit clones.
-blazheirio attacks first next round.

Hmm... That Rollout didn't do as much damage as I anticipated. Oh well, at least that combo only took 20% energy :D

I don't like the looks of that giraffe's movepool... So let's set up a small Substitute to give us a bit of protection. You've still got your clones, so I doubt you'll get hit while fashioning your copy. This should provide good cover for those pesky status effects, too.

After that, hm. A Double Edge, followed quickly by a Heat Wave will do nicely. When using Double Edge, try to knock Janus's legs out from under him; it took him a full minute to get up the last time, so that'll more or less gurantee a hit. If he falls on you, so much the better. His belly will be feeling pretty hot for a while after that.

If Janus has clones on any action other than the 1st, Natural Gift. Also, use Natural Gift on the 3rd action if you couldn't execute the combo. And if Janus tries to Protect/Detect/is otherwise completely out of reach and there's absolutely no plausible way you can hit him, then... Curse on the 2nd action and Foresight on the 3rd. Whatever you do, make the Substitute on your 1st action; nothing else.

Substitute (10%) ~ Double-edge + Heat Wave/Natural Gift/Curse ~ Nothing/Natural Gift/Foresight

Okay my Palindrome named creature, spawn Earthquakes! They should get rid of those annoying clones.

Round Six: Begin

Rather than waste time picking Cyndaquil at random and hoping to get lucky, Janus rears up onto his hind legs and focuses all of the energy he can into his forelimbs. His cloven hooves slam into the white ground with a bang, and almost instantly a shockwave ripples out from the point of impact. The floor shakes violently, its normally solid surface bucking and rolling as though it were made of gelatin. The quaking of the earth quickly destroys six of the Cyndaquil across the battlefield and bounces the remaining fire mouse around violently. Khao screams and yelps as his body is repeatedly smacked against the ground by the amplified earthquake; when the shaking stops he lies spreadeagled on the ground, dazed. Only moments ago he didn't have a scratch on him, but now... moaning fitfully, Khao picks himself up and tries to regain his footing for long enough to start creating a substitute. The ground directly in front of him goes from solid to soft and malleable, and he quickly sculpts a simple doll that, if one were to squint and turn one's head to just the right angle, might almost look like a Cyndaquil. Or an eclectic vase. Or possibly a very, very excited bull Sealeo caught in mid-backflip. Aesthetics mean little to Khao at the moment, however, and as soon as the construct is substantial enough for his liking he gives it just a touch of his own life force--he'd rather not part with any more than he has to, but otherwise it will just fall apart--and then vanishes, off to hide in a special, secret place with ground that is less susceptible to violent seismic activity. The happy Cyndaquileo vase shudders and twitches a bit, but otherwise remains quite still.

Janus snorts irritably and his tail gnashes its teeth. Another double? Geez, when will that Khao guy stop hiding behind all these stupid decoys and get his butt kicked like a man? He rears up and smashes the ground again, setting off another mighty earthquake. Khao's nebulous substitute wobbles ridiculously for a few seconds and then melts back into the ground from whence it came, wasted after a single attack. Khao has barely had any time to relax in his safe place before he reappears and finds himself on the white floor of Doubleland, which is still trembling with the last throes of this second quake. What? Already? Crap...

With his substitute gone Khao is certain that he won't be able to take another attack like that. His only remaining course of action, then, is to take Janus down before Janus can take him down. He bites his lip and lowers his head. This will hurt, but with any luck it will hurt that freakish giraffe thing over there even more.

A furious battlecry rips from the Cyndaquil's throat as he sprints forward head first, barrelling toward Janus's legs at breakneck speed. His backfire flares up and its flames trail behind him, making him look like a little round rocket surging across the field. Khao collides with his foe's legs before Janus can get out of the way, knocking them out from underneath him again. As soon as Khao feels his head bang painfully into the Girafarig's knees his back really explodes into life. A wall of fire and intense heat rushing out from all directions and washing over the floored Janus. Janus's long legs flail around as he writhes with pain and tries unsuccessfully to stand up; several of the kicks miss the blazing Khao by a hair. When the last one comes within a fraction of an inch of his nose Khao stops and allows his back to die down again.

The heat wave has singed Janus's coat and left him feeling dangerously hot; the double-edge that bowled him over left him with incredibly sore legs. But not so sore that he can't use them to punish the insolent little rat. The Girafarig struggles to his feet and then his front hooves crash into the ground again, and this time Khao has nowhere to go and nothing to hide behind. The Cyndaquil is battered mercilessly by the earth beneath him. Janus holds his head up high as the earth settles and Khao hits the ground one more time, bruised and bent and motionless. Surely his work here is done... he cannot believe his eyes, then, when his opponent stirs and whimpers. Khao can barely hold his head up at first, and when he finally does manage to stand it seems to take an incredible amount of effort and resolve. He sways unsteadily on his feet and moans. Another substitute sure would've been handy just then...

YES! You are so close to victory!

Finish it off with a Swift, an Astonish, and if for some reason it's still consious, an Earthquake.

Swift ~ Astonish ~ Earthquake

Alright, Khao, you might not believe me, but this went exactly how I hoped it would. Blaze is activated, and you should have enough energy to pull off another massive combo. Mufufufu.

Quick Attack + Flame Wheel. By my calculations, this should be able to knock Janus out, no problem. 100% accuracy, and you'll go first too - w00t.
If, somehow, that misses and Swift misses, just go with a Flare Blitz. Uber-fire-typed-suicidal-attack yay.

Round Seven: Begin

Khao takes a deep, shuddering breath. If he wants to keep standing he's got to act fast, and he doesn't have a lot of energy left. The Cyndaquil's back flares up again, the flames burning nearly white-hot and fueled by desperation. One last roar escapes from Khao's lips and he surges forward as fast as he possibly can, blazing across the emptiness of Doubleland like a low-flying comet and closing the gap between himself and Janus in a matter of seconds. Before the Girafarig can even begin to retaliate Khao crashes into him in an explosion of fire. Janus cries out and stumbles backward under the force of the blow. What would normally have been a manageable combination of attacks has been turned into an unbearable crushing blow by the arcane might of Doubleland, and the giraffe Pokémon falls to the ground and blacks out. Khao, his blazing inferno now reduced to sputtering embers, is not far behind--the little fire mouse slumps forward, barely able to keep his eyes open with all of the excruciating pain wracking his body. Both Pokémon are quickly recalled and rushed off to the Pokémon Center after a brief handshake, the field is vacated and Doubleland is a completely empty expanse of nondescript whiteness once again.

-The battle is over and blazheirio889 is the winner. She gets $16 for winning and Ventus and Khao get 2 exp. Grass King gets $6, Simba gets 1 exp and Janus gets 2 exp. I get $5 for e-reffing, and Astral can claim the other $5 if and when he returns.
-thank god I got this wrapped up just in time, because HG just got here and no one will ever see me again

Thanks again for e-reffing this, Kratos :)

Oh and psst, not like I'm complaining or anything, but I just wanted to point out that if you factored in Blaze, the Quick Attack + Flame Wheel combo would've knocked Janus out under normal conditions.
