• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Two people, alone

Charizard Morph

has doomed us all.
Poem I wrote, tell me how you liked it.
**********************************************************

Two people, alone

Neither one knew it,
And both died alone.

Walking in and out of the office every day,
Neither even saying hello,
Not a passing glance,
No holding the door,
No passing smile.

Business as usual,
As always.

Not a thought,
To the people they passed,
Not a thought,
To who they could be.

Neither knew it,
And they both died alone,
Too obsessed in their work,
Striving to succeed,
Too busy to notice little things.

Click her high heels,
Taps his fingers on briefcase,
Neither ever saw it,
Because they were too busy searching,
Instead of looking around them,
They turned away,
Into their own worlds,
Striving too fill their hearts with their work.

If only they had taken the time to look at one another,
If only they had gotten stuck together,
On an elevator,
If only she had dropped her purse,
If only he had said hello.

Not a passing glance,
No time to notice the people around you,
No time to have a friendly chat,
Communicate,
Face to face?

If only they had.

Two people,
Alone.

Two people,
Unnoticed.

Two people,
Two human beings,
Who couldn’t take the time of day.

That is when we will all be alone.

I like the message. =D I also like the format; it's free verse (right? xD;) but yet it has a sort of pattern. I don't really know how to explain it. But there's some free verse poems where I really don't care for the way that it's arranged; this works nicely. =D

There's a couple of "to"'s that should be "too"'s. These are the ones that I'm finding now, but you might want to reread it and check for more.
