• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

CLICK! I made a new *clean* forum. Yes it is a proboard. The main skin (only skin right now.) Is blue for ice.
Please join I need members BADLY!

This forum is no different than 100 other forums advertised on here, add something different and you may attract new members.

Please read this.

In fact, I'll quote the important part for you:
It's just a forum.
I really don't care about your forum. At all. If you hadn't noticed, I'm already on at least one. Yours is, in all likelihood, absolutely nothing special, and I have no reason to go there. In fact, I kinda resent that you are trying to direct time away from this forum so some massive group of ten people can accumulate on yours and.. do absolutely nothing they can't already do here.

What is it about your forums that makes it unique and different from the billions of other forums already on the internet?

Another fact that greatly bothers me is the neon pink text on the generic blue background. You can't read it. At all. This is worse than neon pink on neon blue, because you could actually read the text. You should stay away from neon colors when you make the site, because it's really hard to read. To quote Butterfree:

Use pleasant colors - don't use overly bright ones or have too little or too much contrast between text and background.

Or, to put it simply: AHHH! MY EYES! THEY BURN!

Now, on to the rules section:

"Before posting" is not a complete sentence.

I was a bit confused by the rules because it did not tell me not to spam, but just said that "try to avoid spamming". Um. Also, "SPAM or Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages, Try to avoid posting SPAM" is not a complete sentence. Did you mean "SPAM means Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. Try to avoid posting SPAM"? Another thing, spam usually isn't typed in all caps. The only time I've seen spam typed in all caps is on an actual can of SPAM (which is a kind of mashed up meat), and I don't think that's what you're looking for here...

Care to tell me where the edit button is? Yes, I must admit that I have been going to a forum for months before actually realizing the location of the edit button. Since you're using Proboards, the edit button is (or at least was) a tiny little link that's hard to find when you're looking for it the first time.

What are "stuck topics"?

Flaming does not mean to fight with other members. I mean, look at the debating hall here. People are (sometimes) fighting with each other, but it's not considered flaming. Why? Because we are civilized and do attack the other members personally (usually).

Off-topic-ness should be covered by spamming already.

Stealing is the same thing as plagiarism. You can plagiarize art, too.

Lol'd at trolling.

"Don't use too much foul language please, use only a little to prevent flame wars." Um, what? I thought swearing is usually caused by flame wars? I also find it weird that you will be banned longer for swearing than flaming. Flaming is usually considered worse than swearing (although they usually contain quite a few swearwords, too)

"You will be permanently IP email address and account banned permanently if you post Pornography or hentai." Huh? I don't think this sentence makes sense.

"Advertising means to ask someone to join there forum." Grammarnazis are picking up their weapons.

Signature rules and BB code rules: Um, why? What if I have six overhead sprites of Pokemon to show my team? How is that bad? I think using the size of images to base the rules on should be better. And why should we not use more than one font color in our posts?

And why did I just waste half of my afternoon typing this up?

Yeah, what he said!

And why should we not use more than one font color in our posts?
Same reason why we don't here? So people's eyes don't burn out?

Also yeah, I don't really see any reason whatsoever why I should join your forum. I mean I'm already at TCoD. There isn't anything different on your forums and there's much more here.

Uh, I dunno... I found the forum to be an interesting place to go...
But, well, there's nothing to do. T.T

Same reason why we don't here? So people's eyes don't burn out?

Well, if you use it correctly and sparingly, it can turn out well, methinks. For example, if you want to decorate the first post of your art thread or RP thread, a few colors is fine.

You can do horrors with just one color if you don't use if correctly, too... (cough neon pink on blue)

...Why are there only two forums? There's one for announcements and one for rules. How about at least one forum to talk about something other than announcements and rules?

And if they're hidden from guests, then that's really a bad idea. If you want to hide some forums from guests, at least be sure that there's something interesting that guests can see. Otherwise you're going to get no members.
