• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

NOOT VS. SKOOT

nastypass

that bitch what arranges the blocks
Pronoun
they/her/hers
3 vs 3 single
DQ: Two weeks (darn you, unstable internet situation)
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO's, chills limited to 5/pokémon, 50% recovery moves, weather moves (to a point, see description)
Arena: Kokuyo Healthy Land

The battle opens on the top floor of a degraded entertainment resort, ruined by a mudslide and left to nature for approximately ten years. The third floor was a playstage in its past life, with all chairs and obstructions removed. However, because of its rickety, moldy floor, any moves that would sufficiently damage the floor (Earthquake, heavy enough rock moves, floor-damaging fire moves), or Pokémon heavier than four hundred pounds (180 kg) that aren't part Flying or have Levitate will break the floor, causing both Pokémon to plunge to the ground, dealing anything not part Flying or Levitate-having 10% damage. If such situation occurs, the battle will move outside to your standard clearing-in-a-forest, and weather moves will be permitted.

OKAY NOZOMU i'm sorry but you fail BUT THAT'S OKAY because~

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FIGHT bring up a substitute (10% health will do) - because status ailments are always freaking awesome and while you fail you don't fail enough to deserve that.

After you're PROTECTED - always use protection, little guy! - try to ensnare the stupid cow in a SPIDER WEB. If you can't get the dumb cow - yes I know Mareep's a sheep don't judge me or go on a rant about how you are IN DESPAIR - in your spider web, just go for the surrounding area so that it'll be trapped soon enough. Try not to be near the sheep, by the by.

Since it shouldn't be able to dodge, end with a Toxic.

Substitute (10%) ~ Spider Web ~ Toxic

Hey, if they were ever to meet irl, despair sensei'd get annoyed long before lambo gave up.

[Lambo] Mareep (M)
Ability: Static

Oi, listen up! This is our very first battle, so you gotta-- ... be more interested in me then whatever's in your nose darnit.

First, try to use your Electric nature to your advantage and be /faster/ than that useless Skulltula; quickly, quickly fire off a Thunder Wave to paralyze 'im before he can make that Substitute, or at least disrupt 'im enough that he doesn't.

Hm... that web'll be annoying wherever it gets. Ah, try a Flash! We are in a room, so no matter where the green supervisor is, he'll be blinded by our battling brillance. Hmm, yes.

Finally, if the dumb bug's paralyzed and you somehow got in the net, fire off a Screech to lower his defenses - and don't worry, I'll get you out next turn. If you're in the net and he's not paralyzed, go for another Thunder Wave. If you aren't trapped, awesome! Let mister Emonarak know who's boss with a Body Slam!

(extra emphasis on speed) Thunder Wave ~ Flash ~ (if foe paralyzed and self trapped) Screech / (if foe not paralyzed and self trapped) Thunder Wave / (regardless of paralysis and self not trapped) Body Slam

Pre Battle: The ref was just calmly enjoying the sunset when he was abruptly teleported into the dark, moldy top floor of Kokuyo Healthy Land. Well, what's left of it anyways. Before he can even realize where he is, two trainers standing on opposite sides of the room immediately toss a red and white ball forward, one yelling at him to pay attention.

On the one side, by someone the ref immediately recognizes as surskitty, a small green spider that doesn't look like he's in too good of a mood, although it's probably just the arena, erupts from the red light emitted by the ball. On the other side, by someone the ref takes a little longer to recognize as MidnightSaboteur, (which is probably a bad thing given that he just accepted a challenge from her a few days ago) the opposite comes out, a little yellow and blue lamb looking extremely hyper ...and sneezing its brains out from the mold spores. The two trainers shout their commands, the ref gets his head out of the moldy clouds, and the battle begins!

-Round 1-

Trying his best to stop sneezing his brains out, Lambo gathers just enough electricity in his wool to stun the puny Spinarak across from him. The crackling noise it makes grows even louder as he gathers more and more power, before going into one loud CRACK when the electricity arcs over to Nozomu in one large bolt. The electricity runs through every inch of the poor little spider's body, making his muscles spasm uncontrollably. Meanwhile, the poor spider is trying so hard to regain control of his muscles, that by the time he finally has control again, Lambo is already unleashing his next attack.

The little yellow and blue lamb raises his tail above his head as it glows eerily. The ref and the trainers know what's coming, and know to shield their eyes. Unfortunately, Nozomu does not, and gets the full force of the attack as he stares right at the bauble at the end of the Mareep's tail as it completely illuminates the room with a blinding flash of light. Even as the light dies away, the little spider still probably couldn't find his way back to his trainer to save his life. He can at least move this time though, so that makes him a little more comfortable. A little.

Stumbling around in the dark, essentially, Nozomu starts spitting several sticky threads in the general area he remembers Lambo being in, trying to get it in a web shape, and he succeeds, albeit rather messily and just barely recognizable as a web. While he is rather proud when his trainer mentions that he succeeded in making the web properly, it is subsequently torn down by both his crushing lack of self esteem and the referee's mention of the fact that the webs was formed several feet behind his intended target.

Lambo is feeling a mixture of relief and curiosity at this point. He's glad that the Spider Web went behind him but... why? Nevertheless, he's got an opportunity, and he's going to take it. Being very careful not to let his leg touch the web behind him, the little Mareep charges at the also little Spinarak, rearing up on its hind legs, and flops on top of him. ...doing very little before he rolls off of him and onto his back.

Nozomu, now vaguely glad that some of his sight is returning (for about four seconds until he thinks 'oh god now I can /see/ their taunts ; ;') has a vague idea of roughly where Lambo is, given that he just rolled off of him. He quickly forms a glob of various nasty venoms inside his cheeks and spits them out in the direction Lambo just rolled of in, splattering the Mareep in the face just as he gets up on his feet.

-Nozomu was paralyzed on action one.

-Since Mareep is actually lighter than Spinarak, it didn't do much.
