• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Light infractions (~5 points) will now be given out for abuse of the pronoun field, following reasonable verbal warning. If your pronoun field currently contains some manner of hilarious joke, please change it to whatever pronoun you would prefer to be called by, and nothing else. I know it is difficult to restrain the urge to abuse every last feature, but I would like to think that in the name of making this forum an inclusive space we can manage it.

Thanks! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

*applause* This sounds pretty fair to me; I like it~ (Now to hope people are sane enough to follow it, ahaha...)

I expect that there is going to be quite a few of infractions being given out.

Would it be okay to make mine Mendatt, like it was before the other announcement? I really have no desire to be referred to as either male or female, but I don't particularly want to break a rule that had to be announced in particular.

if you want people to refer to you as nothing but 'Mendatt', sure, but be aware there is an 'any' option if you don't mind what pronoun you want.

I don't think Mendatt has thought Mendatt's idea through...

Yes, I suppose that does sound rather horrible.
And yes, I am the king of not thinking my ideas through. I should probably try to stop being that.

Huuur I never even changed mine from Female back when we had a gender!!! Lookie at my memory skillz

I also suggest you just remove the form to allow you have custom pronouns, it would make it easier.

It would then create the problem of some people not being able to use a pronoun that doesn't make them cringe, which is why the custom pronoun field was created in the first place.

Have you not read either thread? Also "female" pronouns don't actually mean anything as people can be male and prefer to be called "she". 'Male' and 'female' really aren't identifiers.

?_? that, um, goes against the entire reason for the change! The problem isn't with people who genuinely want to make their unconventional preferred pronouns known, so why punish them?
