• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

[OOC/Signup] Search for the Valley of the White Lotus

Name: Cusillu

Age: 28, but he is unaware of that

Gender: Male

Race: Wraith

Class: Necromancer?

Appearance: Cusillu, like most other wraiths, takes the form of a humanoid shadow that also wears a ragged black cloak on top of the shadow. This cloak has strange yellow marks that give the appearance of a yellow skeleton on the cloak. Cusillu has simple yellow eyes that peer from his shadowy form, and he has long, skeletal arms and hands. Like all wraiths, he lacks any lower body, so he just floats around. He also wears a violet crystal on a necklace, and this crystal stands out among the rest of his body. He carries a small staff around with him that has a red crystal on top of it.

Personality: Cusillu is an oddity. Though he is very old, he tends to act like a child would, and thus is very naive. Furthermore, he acts on his emotions the same way a child would: he over-acts. He is not stupid, however; he does know basic functions of life, and knows how to help others with whatever problems they might have; what very few know is that this way of acting is a result of Cusillu having no memory of his life whatsoever.) However, just because he has these childish qualities does not make him a liability; indeed, if one is in fact to battle him, they'll find him reckless, but a force to be reckoned with, as he is capable of summoning large, shadowy animals or human-sized, ghostly swordsmen to fight for him (however, they fade very quickly, usually after two minutes and attempts to maintain them longer have resulted in Cusillu becoming extremely weakened; nearly vanishing altogether after five.) Generally, there is only one way to completely convince Cusillu to fight, and that is to convince him that he needs to protect his violet crystal, which is one of the only things he knows for certain. Of course, play it wrong, and Cusillu will go after the convincer instead; thinking they intend harm to the crystal.

History: Cusillu does not know anything of his past other than the past two months; all he can remember is an urge to protect that crystal at any cost. For those past two months, he has been roaming the world in attempts to recover his lost memories, and that soon became his other drive in life. So far, these attempts have ended in failure, since those that he helped knew little about Wraiths. When he learned of the escort job, he deciding to take it, hoping that it could possibly unlock a clue of who he is.

Other: My knowledge of D&D could fill a thimble halfway, but I am fairly certain there is a Necromancer class (but I'm probably wrong). I only called it that because I have no idea what else it could be; if it is not allowed, then he will be a Black Mage. If that is not allowed, he will be a Warlock. Also, I did give him this childish personality just so he could be balanced out.

You look fine, I say accepted (wee for Co-DMing) and yeah there's a sorta Necromancer class in 3.5 at least iirc, but we're not strictly going by that so you're okay either way.

Also just so everyone knows, moony's out on a holiday to visit family until the second, so we won't probably start until then, just heads up.

You caught my interest.

Form:
Name: Logoth (Low- goth)
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race: Barbarian, A humanoid that is incredibly large and strong
Class: Logoth is primarily a swordsman and is trained with everything from axes to staffs so he has plenty of options. Edit: Basically a warrior.
Appearance: Logoth like the rest of his race stands 7'5 and is 285 lbs. he is muscular due to his mercenary past. He has brown hair and hazelnut eyes. He wears a brown tinted armor that has a helmet with moutain sheep horn on it. He has a huge double handed sword that is 5 1/2 feet long and weighs close to 50 lbs. He also carries a battered axe and short sword on a war belt. Finally he has a dagger concealed in each gauntlet.
Personality: He doesn't like his own kind. He lives among humans and envies them. He takes to others with curiosity and wonder. Despite his training and experience he likes to have friends. He has lost many and never really gets used to it.
History: Logoth never knew his parents. Most Barbarians don't as they face extinction. Only 300 survive scattered across the world. Logoth was raised by his older brother. When he was 19 he and his brother got into a brawl with several humans. His brother was too wounded to live so Logoth put him out of his misery with the axe that he now carries. He knows it belonged to his parents. Afterwards he was picked by mercs and was taught the trade he is actually a wealthy man. As his armor is extremely exspensive. he joined in hopes of finding a way to save his race.

Looks good, but I'd prefer if you would have a set class. Like Warrior, that would work well for this character.

Much better. Welcome to the game.

I'd like to join please.

Name: Llyud
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Aegyl
Class: Mage
Appearance: Like the rest of the Aegyl, Llyud resembles a human. The only clear distinction is the pair of large black wings on his back. His hair is of a deep brown color and is usually unkempt. He is as tall as the average human, standing at a height of 5'7" and has a regular build. His fair skin is like that of a child - smooth to the touch. The clothes he wears are usually dark in color and resemble a cloak, and he can always be seen reading a strange tome, which is leather bound, black and is very delicate, that only he can understand. Also, aside from the musty black book he carries around, he can never be seen without his tattered hat which is old, black and with numerous patches.

Personality: Llyud is not very receptive to emotions and can seem insensitive at times. Unlike the other Aegyl, he prefers magic over hand-to-hand combat. He is a scholarly type, preferring to bury his nose in books rather than idle chatter. Aloof at times, he tends to be cold towards people he does not know very well. He is very curious about the natural world, examining every new thing he encounters.

History: Him being cold and aloof is not an effect of some desperate lonely childhood. It is inherent in all Aegyl. He used to live with the Aegyl in the clouds and was considered different for his curiosity. Growing up, he lived in a large old edifice made of stone. Llyud has never known his real parents. He was adopted by one of the older Aegyl, who became his mentor, and was trained in the art of magic. Llyud turned out to be a natural at magic, able to cast and control his first succesful spell at the age of seven. The Aegyl who adopted Llyud taught him every spell he knew, except the forbidden magic. Llyud could perform very powerful spells, but he sometimes lost control. When he was around 18 years old, he decided he had mastered everything his mentor had to teach, so he tried to learn forbidden magic. The forbidden magic turned out to be too strong for him to control however. The flames coming from his fingertips started destroying the house that he grew up in, and he couldn't stop it. Llyud's mentor was old and weak. He knew that if he stopped Llyud, all his life force would be gone. Llyud wept furiously after his mentor's death and has vowed never to perform forbidden magic ever since.

Other: Although he dislikes moon having to fight without the aid of magic, he is capable of wielding weapons and using them, albeit not very effectively.

This is really good, I'm impressed to tell the truth. I have one question though, why is your character joining the group? Other than that, accepted

Sorry, but with school and my lack of time, I sadly must quit. Someone can have Banavio, as I am relinquishing him. :(
