art (/ärt/): n. the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

Art has always been part of human nature. Millennium ago, the early man gazed upon the empty walls of a cave and saw much more than orange sediment; he saw wonder, he saw the cattle and beasts in his everyday life begging to break free and into the world in the form of a picture.

And every day since, man has illustrated his mind with paint or quill, evoking emotion in all of us. Art has always been a piece of us, whether it is our forte, or not.

There is life in art. People do not see paint on a canvas-- they see what the artist saw. It is the most remarkably effective form of communication ever, as well as one of the first. We can enter a world of our own by viewing art, and create a world of our own by painting it.

But perhaps the life in art is more than we have thought. Perhaps the little stick men that we all have doodled during class have lives. Maybe you had illustrated a single frame in a very complicated life. Far fetched, yes? But isn't a photo the same thing? Often times, we look at photos and see it as no more than art. It was someone that had stood up and posed, and was immortalized in photo. But what do those people go home to? What are their internal feelings? All of this is invisible from the outside, but they exist. As do the lives of each drawing you have created.

There are people that have tapped into this parallel existence. They walk among us. Comic artists, book illustrators, and the like-- they have risen above the average photo and have recorded video, sharing it for the entire world to see. They have captivated imaginations of men and children, as they build entire worlds in detail.

But what if someone went beyond? What if someone was sucked into this world of drawings, where possibility is endless and imaginations are tangible? And what if, in some crazy turn of events, that person that was sucked in brought a pencil with them?

I have a question.

Are we making new characters in a world where anything goes, or are we using author avatars in a trapped in tv land scenario?

Anything goes; it's a drawing, after all. Just don't make it over-powered.

Sorry for the wait.

Name: Noah (Male)

Age: 19

Weapon of Choice: A double-ended sword shaped like bat wings. It can split in half and then be used as a separate weapon. Each wing is about three feet long. He is relatively new to magic, although he does have some skill in white magic and the Death spell.

Partner: A Garbodor that he found all alone in a forest. There is nothing special about him.

Physical Appearance: Noah wears simple clothing such as a basic tunic and pants, and he usually sticks to darker shades such as blue or black. He has blond hair, but one look at his roots shows its true colours of dark-brown. It is medium length, although he is growing it out, as he feels that a hero should have a beautiful head of long, flowing hair. This is countered, of course, by the lack of shampoo, so his hair is tied back.

History: He is a dreamer who wishes of being a hero worthy of legends, but he lacks the skill and the patience. He hopes to find the mythical being Zalera , defeat it, and use its powers to sign his name in glory, but first he needs a partner or two. Realizing that his village is unwilling to go near a being of death, he left it to find more brave ones. In the dead of night, he stole his father's sword, the Wings to Tomorrow, and departed, where he found the Garbodor. Although at first he tried to leave alone, he soon needed Garbodor as a guide, as no other being would approach Noah, what with the demonic weapon and all. Impressed, he teamed up with Garbodor . Before all of this he was relatively skilled with a bow, but wanted a sword, as it is the weapon of a hero. His magic skills are somewhat lacking, though he hopes that his Death spell will be strong enough to defeat Zalera. Adding to this, he does not know the true nature and size of the imaginary world.

Hometown: He lived in a small village called Roseva, which is surrounded by the seemingly-infinite Death Forrest, whom in turn is well known for its lack of life other than rogues, wayfarers, outcasts, and ancient, gnarled trees. Noah has never left Roseva until now; he has only visited other worlds in books, as his father and mother feared his certain doom if he did so.

Personality: He is upbeat, enthusiastic, and definitely a people person. He is usually nice, though he has no tolerance for others shortcomings. Noah is also impatient, and tends to finish things as fast as possible with the least amount of effort. Ironically, he is very lazy, and often procrastinates to the extreme. Despite all of this, he really does want to help the world with the Esper's power.

Other notes: He tends to go all out in a battle, so even though his initial barrage is very fast and strong, he is left open to attack after the assault. He also has low magic power, so he cannot heal or spam Death too much.

The Garbodor was inspired by this meme:

Does this look good?

Name: Aðalörn
Age: 19
Weapon of Choice: Although he is adept at magic, Aðalörn prefers to fight with his blade, which he has dubbed Rekhëdh. For some unknown reason, when the blade's name is uttered, it becomes a conductor of Aðalörn's magic, i.e. if he uses a fire spell, it will envelope the blade in flame.
Partner: Aðalörn's partner is the Ûru-alf, named Paoli that he encountered on his journeys-- a massive wolf the size of a large bear. It is useful as both a steed and a powerful fighter in battle. It is also capable of magic, although not intentionally; he has magical blood and sometimes gramarye erupts from him in massive but rare displays.
Physical Appearance: Aðalörn takes after his father, a pirate known for his skill with both magic and his trademark falchion. He has long, chestnut hair, blue eyes, and a frail yet muscular build. There is a white scar down his jaw.
Personality: Much like his father, Aðalörn has a snobby, holier-than-though attitude. It is not always well-deseved, although it is at times. Is prowess at magic usually puts his subordinates at his mercy, but he has a hard time restraining himself against equals or uppers. However, he is very witty and can be a fun person to be around. He is also very determined in battle, if only to prove himself to his father.
History: Aðalörn was born into nobility because of his father's renown. His father, Captain Skylar, was a well-known pirate throughout the land, namely because of his unmistakable voice, prowess in magic, and power at the blade. Trained from an early age, he quickly discovered that he had all the capabilities his father did, as well as the same personality. He bore no resemblance to his mother whatsoever, who was killed by Captain Qvalador after Aðalörn's birth, taking completely after his father. This was not natural-- Captain Qvalador made it thus by performing an intricate spell on Aðalörn when he was but a developing fetus. When he turned fifteen, as is custom in his people, he set out on his own. He did not seek love, or recognition. He sought power in himself, to become ultimately unstoppable until someday, his name rang out through the land.
