Doomed

Alright, so a friend of mine introduced me to these forums and pointed out a few poems she liked to read. I skimmed through a few poetry threads, got inspired, and spent the next fifteen minutes writing, editing, and re-editing my first Pokemon poem (and one of my first poems, period). I think it came out pretty well, personally; a dark little drabble about a Houndoom. Reviews would be lovely. ^^

Ivory, ebony, embers and blood,
Running through forest and bramble and mud,
Pounding a rhythm, keeping a beat,
Nothing but agony, shadow and heat

Nothing but anger and wild regret,
Knowing it's over, his end has been set,
Knowing that no one remains on his side,
Knowing there's nowhere ever to hide

He's running, running, nearing his end,
Running from enemies, running from friends,
Running from anger and running from joy,
Running from everything that he destroyed

Ivory, ebony, embers and blood,
Curled horns shine in shadow, speckled with mud,
Clawed paws hit the ground, keeping their beat,
The Houndoom runs on, to death and defeat.

It started out as a mysterious, kind of half-hearted thing about a Houndoom hunting, and turned into something based on a scene from a Pokemon fanfic I'm working on. =3​
