Old Milborough Manor

Tangle

You enter the mansion with no difficulty, and you enter the living room as described earlier: the weathered furniture, the broken coffee table, the portraits. The staircase that leads upwards. You notice this time, though, a hallway opposite of the stairs. It seems there's more on the first floor after all.

current inventory: 3x Pokeballs, dusclops(F), Lost Item

You find yourself in a small kitchen-looking area. There is an old wood-burning stove, a sink and some cabinets. You can see the kitchen is connected to a large room, proportionally long and narrow. The floor is tiled, though much of it is cracked and broken away. A long dining table stretches from one end of the room to the other. The table still has several chairs lined up on each side, and some napkins remain spread out at some of the seats. Some fancy silverware and cups are still on the table, too, though not arranged very neatly.

current inventory: 2x Pokeballs, lampent f Gastly f, Spell Tag

Blastoise, with a vaguely creepy glint in his eye, strolls over to the table and snatches up some of the expensive-looking cups and dinnerware, stuffing them carefully into his bag. That stuff be valuable, yo. And, of course, Blastoise has a hard time resisting things that are shiny. He hands his least-favorite knife to Galahad, who wields it like a tiny dagger.

Tangle cautiously walks into the mysterious hallway, her Bulbasaur almost reluctantly follows.

You could swear that you hear a voice whisper in your ear, "Where are you going with that?" It's very faint, and once it's gone you're not entirely sure you heard it. No one who wasn't in the room already is there with you. With the table cleared, there's not much else to find in the dining room itself. You didn't inspect the kitchen much, though.

With the feeling of being watched increasing, Tangle turned and went to inspect the paintings, which she felt were the source.

You hear the sound of digging just overhead. It appears that you're underground! After several long minutes of scratching and scraping, a pair of red claws pries two boards of wood away from eachother, allowing light (and some dirt, unfortunately) to come though.

A male Parasect heard your cries for help and dug you out! You can't see Crackle from your current position, but with the Parasect's help you are able to climb out of the old wooden coffin.

uv's face is a white mask of quiet fear, her brain not quite processing the shock of nearly being buried alive, saved by a giant monster bug and crawling out of the earth to... where, exactly? "Crackle...?" uv calls out uncertainly.
The parasect looks at her shiftily. uv briefly feels bad about taking the tinymushroom earlier, even though it probably doesn't mean anything to the parasect. "Thanks," she says, but she can't quite bring herself to pet the bug pokemon. There's a short awkward moment before uv says "Oh, it's okay, I'm not going to catch you! It seems kinda mean since you, uh, helped me out so much back there."
The parasect blinks. uv takes that to mean 'okay'.

The portrait you approach has... moving eyes!? Suddenly the eyes glow red and and the face cackles.

A female Gastly comes out of the painting!

The Parasect promptly scuttles away, his work here being done. You feel a tapping on your shoulder and turn around to see Crackle! He appears to be intact, thankfully.
Looking around from where you are, you can see the barn where you started, as well as a forest and the mansion itself.

His eyes bugging out a bit, Blastoise whispers, "To my apartment?" in a raspy, mildly sarcastic voice. He looks about and raises an eyebrow to each of his companions, but they don't seem to have noticed much else.

His backpack clanking slightly, Blastoise turns and walks back into the kitcheny bit of the room. Experimentally, he turns the 'hot' tap on the sink.

A little bit of highly discolored water flows out for a couple seconds, then stops. That was probably the last of the running water. The water bill hasn't been paid in over forty years, after all.

Tangle leaped back in surprise, and had no idea what to do now. Did she want to capture it, or run away?

Tangle

The Gastly licks your face with her large tongue. It's really cold and tingles a lot. It doesn't seem like she actually wants to hurt you. Fortunately.

Holding his breath at the rusty smell of the water, Blastoise turns about and begins gingerly opening cabinets at random. Galahad, meanwhile, flails his dinner knife like a powerful sword. His ghosts seem to chat a little, although not in any verbal way.

Stala
In your violent sneezing fit,
046.gif

a male Paras crawls out from under the bed and looks at you. It seems to be rather concerned, despite the fact bugs have rather inexpressive faces.

(Suddenly I can be bothered to post again!)

"H-hello little fella," Stala tentatively says as her nose calms down. "You're quite a cutie, you know. W-were you worried about me? I'm fine, I'm fine." Stala reaches around and grabs a pokeball from her bag. "Would you like to come with me?" At that, she gently tapped the boy on his, well, whatever bugs have instead of heads. "I'll call you Mashroomys and you can ride on my head!"

At that, Stala stood up and proceded to take a lo-

"Arizaona, you can stop trying to kill the matress"

Right, now she takes a look around, she didn't exactly get a good look before, what with the crashing and sneezing. Arizona settles for giving the innocent bedding the evil eye.

Phantom

You hear a deep, ethereal woman's laugh emanate from the piano as you slowly open it. Once you open it wide enough to see inside, you see that
200.gif

it's just a female Misdreavus. She laughs again and floats out of the piano, circling around your head. She hums the song the piano had been playing.

current inventory: 2x Pokeballs, gastly f banette m, Charcoal

Phantom held back a scream. Really, she should have anticipated that there was a ghost pokémon inside the piano. The Misdreavus was humming as she buzzed around Phantom's head. "Whoa," Phantom exclaims as she tries to keep an eye on the ghost as it circles her head, "nice song, you write that?"

Phantom draws her pokéball, noticing that she only has two left. She tosses the ball at the Misdreavus.

You find some Old Gateau in one of the cabinets! It smells quite old. But as you know, Old Gateau is supposed to. It's like fruitcake, the stuff lasts forever.

If you look around some more, you see a door in the dining room that presumably leads to the rest of the house.

You successfully catch the Paras! The cabin has a nightstand, some shelves, a chest and some barrels lying around. There might be some other goodies in here somewhere.

The Misdreavus smiles and nods, pleased with herself. Then you catch her!
There's not much left to see in this room. You can mess with the piano some more, but curiously, it doesn't seem to actually work as well as you thought it did. It's more damaged than it initially appeared to be.

Although she hadn't done any damage, Tangle tried capturing the Gastly anyways.

As energetic as ever, Stala literally jumps over to the barrels, ready to inspect them. She taps them a few times each, to see if she could discern their contents in this manner. She gives up pretty quickly and resorts to knocking one over into the others. When this fails to give a satisfactorily ten-pin bowling-like effect, she manually kicks over the others in frustration before remembering that, oh yeah, she was looking for stuff.

Woohoo, free food! This place wasn't so bad after all. Wrapping the Gateau in a piece of notebook paper, Blastoise places it in an outer pockt on his bag and closes the cabinets. He quickly realizes that his only real choice is to go down the spooky, narrow hallway. Oh, joyous day.

Well, at least he's not a blond cheerleader. He'd be dead by now if that were the case. It is with these comforting thoughts that Blastoise heads down the hallway.

(unless I specify that you have to, you don't really have to battle the Pokemon you encounter.)

You continue down the hallway and find yourself in what looks to be a large sitting room. Or something. It looks like it was once a pretty nice place to sit, at least. Some worn-out sofas are scattered throughout the center area of the room. There are also a couple of tables and a desk with drawers. One wall has a row of paintings, and the two perpendicular walls have bookshelves, each about half-filled with books.
Oddly, this room is still lit by a couple of candles...
You also hear footsteps coming from the other hallway that leads out of this room.

One of the barrels that falls over comes open, and a Rose Incense rolls out of it!

Its grassy scent is possibly what attracted the Paras to this cabin in the first place.

(If you are doing what I think you are doing then I love you.)

At first, Blastoise is rather deeply drawn to the books; books were even better loot than expensive silverware! But as Woolf gravitates naturally to the candles, Blastoise, at once, notices both that the candles are on fire and that, also, um, there are footsteps. At least they aren't coming from behind him but... He can't be making them, as he's sort of standing in mild fear-paralysis, and neither can his pokémon; two have powers of floatiness and no feet, and the other is too squishy and also located on Blastoise's head.

His eyes glued to the other entrance, Blastoise fumbles blindly in his inner vest pocket and pulls out a small knife, one that looks more suited to ropecutting and swiss-armying than shiving ghosts. Still, any port in a storm. His omanyte mirrors him, holding his dinner knife with rather more optimism.

"Hello?"
