• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Unexpected (yet lucky) happenings

Don't make him angry
This is a topic where you can post something that happened that was unexpected, yet turned out to be lucky.

Like for example, in the Amp Plains, I stepped on a warp tile and warped. When my character reappeared, he was two steps away from the stairs.

When I was fighting Dialga the second time, it hit me with Dragon Claw, then tried to use Roar of Time, and luckily it missed, then Blaze kicked in and I used Fire Blast and owned it, and I let it join my team. :D

I believe this is a spin-off forum. That wouldn't include D/P, cheesecake.
You have the same name as my Blaziken!

That Warp-tile-to-the-stairs thing happened to me quite a lot before.

Now, as for other unexpected, but lucky happenings, the "boss right before Temporal Tower" missed with all but one of his attacks. His minions were no problem, and since he kept missing, picking him off was easy =D

I was battling Articuno and charmander was me. I pushed the wrong button and used smokescreen. It is good in PMD and most of Articuno's attacks missed. I thought it was useless like in RBY, GSC, RSE,DP and many others.

Notes: Partner was Mudkip...

I was fighting Primal Dialga and kept using Mud-Slap and I lowered its accuracy so much that NONE of its moves could hit me. And I didn't have to use a single Reviver Seed or Oran Berry during the entire fight. Then my partner used Mirror Move and completely beat it by throwing its own Dragon Claw back at it.

Note to self: Mud-Slap is a lifesaver, I never thought it could be so useful!

Once I went down the stairs from one floor and landed right on the stairs for the next floor O:

I have an unlucky one too.. Just recruited one of the Regi's, then it fell down a Pitfall Trap and I never saw it again. D:

That happens to me quite a lot.

My unexpected lucky happenings? Probably how easy it was to get through the Silver trench in my most recent playthrough of blue. It was REALLY hard before.

Not that thats spectacular or anything.

my lucky thing was when i used sing on articuno it never woke back up :D
my unlucky thing was when i laned right in a monster house room and the next room i went to was another monster house!:O

my lucky happening, is when darkrai joined me in miracle sea after about 11 tries!!! but guess what miracles do happen (lol) my unlucky thing would have to be when i lost at a escort mission with lots of good items!!!! >.< GRRRRR!!!!!

my lucky thing was...uh, i can't think of anything that happened to me that's lucky. everything that happens to me is unlucky! Example: when i was in the dungeon bottomless sea, i was on the final floor (floor 50 or 49, i can't remember which), my friend lanturn got confused and kept on using all his attacks on me! and he kept on dodging all the heal seeds i was throwing at him! (by the way, i was mudkip, so all his attacks were super effective on me! but i survived all his attacks until...) he used discharge on me, got a critical hit, and killed me. i was so mad! >.< i almost chucked my ds at the wall, but i thought better of it. O_O

In Temporal Tower I found the Did TM on the floor. I taught it to myself (Piplup) and about it took Dialga out it 3 hits. Nothing else was used, and luckily it didn't use Roar Of Time when I was above ground or hit my partner with it.

That's why I always save right before missions.

I don't really have any, except for when I happened to find a Sun Ribbon that I was looking for right after opening a box. Does that count? It was unexpected! :D

Lucky: I was facing Primal Dialga with a Squirtle and Pikachu, with no Reviver Seeds/Oran Berries whatsoever. It used Roar Of Time and luckly, it missed both of us. That was the only time he used that move. We inflicted a lot of damage on him, mainly because Kyle's (Pikachu) Discharge/Thunderbolt paralyzed him. He used Dragon Claw once on me, and we won the battle!

Unlucky:I had obtained a Reviver Seed in Deep Sky Rift, but then my stupid partner Kyle had to attack a pokemon. It totally killed him, so he eat the Reviver Seed. I knocked out the enemy, but we had no defense for Palkia. We were fighting Palkia and we had him so close to being knocked out, but that Spacial Rend got us. Wah! (I'm still trying to beat this dope too.)
