It's official. ASB arenas have stopped even trying to make sense. With more tangible alternatives apparently not being available, the trainers and referee have been somehow transported into the minds of famed drunkard Zora of Termina, somehow including Zora herself. Pausing to admire the rainbow-plastered splendour of the inner workings of her mentality, the gathered trainers prepare for the battle. Taking a moment to consider the existential implications of her being here, Zora selects her Pokémon, the other three following suit, and the hazy translucent field is soon filled with rare, newly-found Pokémon that the Asber authorities are too stingy to share with the rest of the world. Commands are given, and the first round begins!

Tearing his eyes away from the fabulous colour scheme, Pankaja makes the first move, scurrying across the ethereal battleground toward Chimani. At first, the Kitora raises her hackles with a snarl, preparing to fight back against whatever assault Pankaja is launching. But she sees the charming smile plastered across Pankaja's face and lowers her guard, and the Hennic strolls up to her and whispers something in her ear. Chimani smiles and gives a bashful giggle, turning her head away, and Pankaja scampers back to his place with a devious grin.


Meanwhile, Maržanna is adopting a similar strategy; she slinks over to Serena, trying to look as romantically inviting as a lizard can manage. Fortunately, Serena finds the translucent gleam of the Frizard's body and the radiant glob of lava within absolutely beautiful, and aided by the aura of bisexuality inherent to the arena, Serena falls hopelessly in love with her. Maržanna blows a smoke ring that arranges itself into a heart and retreats, Serena forcing herself not to follow.


Just to change things up a little, Chimani decides to try out some flirting when her turn comes around. She pounces at Pankaja playfully, and the Hennic initially attemps to dodge before remembering the whole being-in-love-with-Chimani story and allows her to glomp him to the ground. Chimani nuzzles into him, muttering some sweet nothings of her own into his enormous listening gear. Quite forgetting the whole completely-fabricated-love-for-Chimani business, he becomes utterly besotted with her himself.


The rampant lovefest is finally brought to an end by Serena, who instead begins generating a screen of energy in front of her, manipulating it into a protective shield; but through the sparkling screen of light, she spots Maržanna. Through the glistening pane of energy, the Frizard's beauty grows tenfold, and the whole notion of attacking is completely erased from Serena's mind as she stares at her beloved.


Her attention is wrenched back to the battle only when she feels sharp fangs tearing into her skin; to wit, those of Pankaja. She shrieks in pain, furiously flitting all over the place trying to fling the Hennic off. Eventually she wrenches herself free, sending Pankaja skidding across the floor back to Chimani. She nuzzles back into Pankaja, congratulating him while Serena leers at her, disgusted by the two-facedness of her teammate. Maržanna, meanwhile, squints fixedly at Serena, trying desperately to form some memory of the attack the Tsuki had attempted to use the last action; however, the attack, whatever it was supposed to be, was never finished. However much Maržanna tried she couldn't copy an attack that was never actually carried out, and she gives up with an annoyed puff of steam.


Chimani ignores her ally's furious glances and gives Pankaja a lick on the ear, reassuring him she'll be back in a moment, and scuttles over to Maržanna. She strolls up looking as fluffy and attractive as she can, and begins to mew the same sentiments she cooed at Pankaja just a few minutes earlier. Though she tries to do it quietly, eventually Pankaja and Serena notice their respective paramours courting illicitly, and become very cross indeed. Whispering a hurried goodbye to the now-infatuated Maržanna, Chimani slinks back to Pankaja's side to explain herself.


Serena, by this point, is beside herself. First her teammate sides with a thing that tried to rip her face off, and now her girlfriend is looking at other girls! The Tsuki has half a mind to slap them both, but taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out, she decides instead to control her anger and put it out of her mind. Closing her eyes, she lets all thoughts drift from her mind as a white light envelopes her body, enhancing her mental faculties as all ill-feeling is washed away.


A loud, angry bark sounds from Chimani and Pankaja's corner; apparently Chimani's efforts to apologise aren't going down well and the two canines are locked in a lover's tiff. The argument is so loud, in fact, that it half-awakens Serena from her trance-like state. She turns to them and in a quiet, peaceful voice asks if they wouldn't mind keeping the noise down. Pankaja whips round to face Serena and screams at her at the top of his lungs to mind her own business; however Serena is so calm she's completely unfazed by his yelling, and with a furious grunt he returns to his screaming match with Chimani. Meanwhile, Maržanna looks on, barely registering the sounds of the argument over the sight of her beloved Chimani.


With one final yell, Pankaja turns his back on Chimani and walks away. The distraught Kitora lowers her head sadly, and tries to think of a way to make it up to Pankaja. Breathing up a small blob of flame, she begins to sculpt it with her paws, until she has a small, flaming love-heart levitating in front of her. She calls to Pankaja to turn around, and when he does, blows it toward him; the heart stops just before his face and drifts up skyward, raining down rays of warmth and light on the arena. Though still quite cross, Pankaja is flattered with this gift, and finds it in his heart to forgive Chimani a bit. And um... I dunno, Serena's just staring at Maržanna. I'm running out of creative ways to say that.

Overcoming his restored affection for Chimani, Pankaja decides to do something to further the cause of the battle. Turning to Maržanna, she studies the Frizard, while recalling all her strategies and behaviours during the previous round. He then puts this all together, and gets into character as his opponent. Using his psychic power, he even manages to figure out how her ability works, and adopts it as his own. Maržanna catches him doing this, and eyes his antics in bewilderment before deciding to ignore him and get on with her own commands. She begins breathing out a wisp of icy fog, which quickly grows into a cloud of freezing mist that envelops the arena and begins drifting slowly upwards. Once reasonably high up, it thickens into a dense canopy of frigid clouds, obscuring Chimani's artificial sun, and hailstones the size of apples begin to soar down from it and slam into everything below. Chimani, meanwhile, decides more presents are in order to win back the favour of her beloved Pankaja. Spitting up some fire, she begins to mould it with her paws until it vaguely resembles a Kitora like herself. She breathes a portion of her life force into the effigy, as a symbol of love or whatever, and it solidifies into a sort of doll that looks just like a Kitora that's been multilated in some horrible accident. Nonetheless, Pankaja seems to like it, and it can serve as a handy shield if anything attacks her. As this is going on, Serena carries on with the support moves, raising a glistening green barrier around herself and Chimani, repelling all abnormal and damaging status effects. Suddenly, a massive deluge of hail rushes down from the makeshift clouds, crashing into anything within reach and dealing some serious hurt to anything with pain receptors besides Maržanna, who has the natural ability to bond the ice to her body and recover any cuts or scratches she may have (she doesn't). Oddly, a similar phenomenon occurs when they come into contact with Pankaja; the ice melts straight into his body and heals his nonexistant wounds as well. Chimani and Serena, however, are less fortunate.

For a while, nothing happens. Maržanna looks toward her ally quizzically; Pankaja's usually fast enough to get his attack in first, isn't he? However, the Hennic is just sitting there patiently, not even preparing some sort of lower-priority attack or what have you. Shrugging, Maržanna decides to go ahead and make her move first instead this time. The snow and hailstones littering the ground begin to shake and move around, then levitate, as Maržanna lets out a breath of icy cold air. The breath turns into a gust of wind, scooping up the hailstones and blasting them around the arena. The stones slam into Serena, knocking her off balance and making her struggle to stay airborne against the viciously strong wind. Chimani, however, is completely unscathed by the snowstorm; her substitute flings itself in front of her, absorbing all the force of the wind, until ultimately it can take no more and crumbles into dust before her, just as the blizzard settles down. As soon as the wind dies down, Pankaja immediately stands up, having spent the entirety of Maržanna's action studying her moves and methods religiously, and starts attempting to copy what he just saw her do. He begins willing the hailstones back into the air, and reluctantly they begin to scuttle around the ground in circles before whipping up into another vortex of ice and snow, that soon builds itself up into a full-on whirlwind. This time not even Chimani is safe from its onslaught, and poor Serena, barely having recovered from the Blizzard just moments before, is very nearly knocked right out of the air. As suddenly as the one before, the blizzard dies down, and Chimani shoots a cold look at Pankaja for inflicting such foul weather upon her; however, she forgives him immediately as he shoots her an apologetic smile, and forgoes her action to stare absent-mindedly at her beloved. Serena, however, is less ready to forgive her sweetheart for freezing her half to death, and decides to punish Maržanna with... another energy shield. The green bubbles encasing her and Chimani are joined by another, bright pink one, sturdy enough to repel virtually any physical assault. But not hailstones, as the pair soon discover.

Maržanna glances irritatedly at her partner again when she notices he's still failing to attack promptly; upon spotting that he's just glaring vacantly at Chimani again, the Frizard decides to once again take the initiative. Breathing another lungful of ice-cold air, Maržanna manipulates the hailstones littering the floor into another forceful tornado of ice which spins around Chimani and Serena, flinging chunks of hail at them at tremendous speeds and generally making life miserable for them. Eventually Chimani struggles her way out of the snowstorm, distraught at the fact that it was blocking her view of her lovely Pankaja. When the wind dies down, Serena spots the two staring at each other and lets out an irritated sigh. She throws Maržanna a dirty look; what kind of way is that to treat one's girlfriend? Summoning blizzards to attack them not once, but twice? Serena decides to get her own back, building up a static charge in her body and releasing it at Maržanna in an arc. It strikes the lizard, causing her to flinch painfully and making several of her muscles to become stiff and numb. With that, another wave of hailstones crashes down into the arena, dealing more ice-based pain to Serena and Chimani.
