Blastoise vs Metallica Fanboy

2 vs. 2 single (can be negotiated)
DQ: 1 Week
Damage Cap: 35%
Banned Moves: All but Metronome.
Arena: Goldenrod City

Skyscrapers and radio towers abound in the hustle-and-bustle of Goldenrod's city streets, blotting out the sun and yet trapping heat in a paradoxical manner. Wingull harass passerby, people don't look at you as you pass them, and the most garish music blares from every punk's Team Rocket-styled Pokétch, and chatter issues from each and every businessman speaking into a headset.

Time to burn it all to the smoking, charred ground.

The battle begins on a dour-way intersection, cordoned off to the public. Of course, a few of those that haven't realized that this is an infamous Asber Metronome Battle have infiltrated the weak security measures, which are basically some yellow 'CAUTION' tape and a few randomly-placed orange cones.

Water mains and sewers under the streets will burst to provide for the battle's antics, and similar things will happen to ensure the maximum in destruction.

Additional Rules: All Pokémon have infinite energy. Also, the referee may at any time teleport the battlers and themselves to a different place in the city, say, the top of the Department store or something.

Round 19

Being paranoid as he is, the ref decides sticking around on the roof of a burning building isn’t the brightest idea and teleports the battlers away. They reappear on a beam high above the town’s caved-in main road – on top of the Magnet Train’s track. The train itself is currently not here, instead off in Saffron or something, and chances are that the train won’t be allowed into the city, considering the current situation.

The battlers admire the flames currently traveling down the Department Store for a moment, then turn their attention back to each other. Codegrah is the first to react, her Metronome triggering with an eerie purple light. Daremyth, blinded by that light, doesn’t notice Codegrah as she runs up to her, until she licks her cheek. The Igglybuff swats her opponent away irritably, more disgusted than anything as a result of the attack. In response, her own Metronome begins tearing scraps of metal from the track the battlers are currently standing on. The metal fragments bend to Daremyth’s will, forming a nearly identical round shape, tiny feet and all. Daremyth puts a still-glowing hand on her finished work, which then lights up as well as she infuses some of her own life force into the metal mass.

Codegrah is not amused, and whips up another Metronome. The glow turns a bright green, and lashes out to surround Daremyth, whose Substitute steps in to take the hit. The glow surrounds the steely mass, and drains the very life force that Daremyth had given it, the green orbs that detach from the aura floating back to Codegrah, granting her the smallest bit of health. Meanwhile, the real Igglybuff activated her own Metronome. She makes a sincere wish, this time wanting to please her trainer and wishing for utter destruction. Codegrah takes to notice, though she is a bit concerned that her opponent hadn’t bothered to react to her assault.

She simply shrugs as she conjures another Metronome. Out of the white light comes a thick, wet mist that proceeds to surround Codegrah. The mist simply lingers around her, doing nothing else of note besides getting her wet. Daremyth responds with a Metronome of her own, her own white glow taking over her own body. She has a strong sudden urge to swallow, and she does so, though she gains nothing from the act other than a sorry reminder of the poison deep in her body.

Just as the round comes to a close, a bright light appears in the sky. The battlers look up just in time to see thousands of pure silver beams of light strike down around them. The bright light is more than just pretty, as demonstrated by the large holes they produce in the roof of the gym. The lights also rain down on the rest of the city, demolishing the already deteriorating Department Store, causing it to crumble to the ground, and even the remains of the Radio Tower and the Game Corner. The Global Trade Station is no more safe than anywhere else, as it is torn apart by further silvery light. The battlers as well are no exception, and more steely light rains down over them. Codegrah is relentlessly thrown around by the lights, and even the tracks are cracked with huge chunks breaking off. Daremyth is curiously missed at every opportunity as the lights approach her, seeming to turn ever so slightly at the last minute.

Round 19 Notes
-Codegrah’s moves: Lick, Absorb, Mist.
-Daremyth’s moves: Substitute (10%), Doom Desire, Swallow (Failed).
-RNG called Doom Desire to activate after action 3, and it just rolled a hit.
-Daremyth has had some crazy luck the last two rounds.
-Your turn to cause some destruction, Blastoise.

That's the payback for all the recovery moves.

Way to go, Daremyth. Now we also made some progress in crushing this pitiful city to pieces, and with a legendary signature move to boot. But don't rest just now. See to it that neither Goldenrod nor Codegrah stand up again anytime soon.

Round 20

Codegrah, panting, angry and tired, refuses to go down without a fight. Even though she’s been heavily bruised, she manages to get to her feet and wag her injured hands. The light blue glow that ensues forms a bubble around Codegrah, who hopes it serves some purpose besides being pretty. Daremyth does likewise, though her hands are far faster. The glow changes to a bright green and releases a cloud of spores in Codegrah’s direction, carried easily by the warm wind. The spores seem to stick to the blue bubble, however, leaving Codegrah unharmed, for the moment.

The Happiny again wags her fingers. As they glow, so does the rest of her body as she allows herself to feel the stings and pain of the battle. She then charges towards Daremyth at a surprising speed, leaping to ram herself into the Igglybuff. At the last second, Daremyth’s steely substitute steps in the way, and Codegrah collides with it powerfully, completely shattering the thing into the fragments of metal from which it was formed. Daremyth steps back in shock, glad that she was spared from that. She counters with another Metronome of her own. The resulting aura turns to a sickly purple color, which then proceeds to take over the Igglybuff’s entire body. The aura then seeps through her skin, altering her actual cells and changing her type-alignment into the very poison that the aura is infused with.

Codegrah looks on, barely aware of what has just happened. She is too worn out to linger on the thought however, and instead rushes into another Metronome. A small but very chilly breeze blows out of the bright blue aura on her hands, rolling Daremyth backwards a bit as small ice particles form on her body. When the freezing wind subsides, she stands up and begins her response. The usual light flashes white, and the Igglybuff runs forward, leaping into the air and crashing down on top of Codegrah. Though light, the force of the attack is enough to completely break apart the tracks, and the ref teleports everyone away as they fall, leaving only the segment of the track to plummet into the chasm below.

The battlers reappear inside the GTS, where people had apparently been oblivious to the rest of the town’s chaos until the roof started being blown apart earlier. Most don’t even notice the new arrivals, though some turn to look as Daremyth stands up over her fallen opponent. Codegrah makes no effort to stand back up, having been knocked unconscious even before the tracks fell.

-Codegrah’s moves: Safeguard, Last Resort, Icy Wind.
-Daremyth’s moves: Stun Spore, Conversion 2 (poison), Body Slam.
-I just realized how much pain I was in when I posted that last round. So many typing errors… Gah, I’ll never ref with a massive headache again, whoever it is will have to wait.
-A bit of luck for Blastoise and Codegrah on action 1… kinda late, though.
-Codegrah’s Last Resort was a critical hit, too.
-Codegrah was KO’d on action 3.

Prizes
-Metallica Fanboy gets $16, Blastoise gets $6, and I get to claim $10.
-Kong, Daremyth, and Codegrah all get 2 EXP, and Kergen gets 1 EXP for being sent out.

Good match guys.

Rebuilding the city? Pffft. After a Metronome Match, there's no hope for rebuilding.

So, good game, Blastoise. Your move choice was quite unpredictable.
