Meta, you're up.

Now, what to do...Ah, how about this! The obvious first move is to transform into your opponent. Then, Thunder followed by Skull Bash. If Dangermouse uses Double Team on action 2 or 3 then I want you to instead use Blizzard.

Karkat’s purple rodent moved first, sprinting into action. As Dangermouse had just been released from his Pokeball he was ripe and ready to go, absolutely bursting with energy with the fight. Thus, the first move he had to use that required a lot of energy was a cinch for him. The Nidorino ran back and forth in a small, compacted area on the road, starting to seat a bit already. In hindsight, maybe he didn’t have all the energy he thought he had. As he ran to and fro flickering images of Dangermouse began to appear in the same area, gaining more and more material as the Nidorino continued to run. Eventually the Nidorinos appeared to be carbon copies of each other, and the real Dangermouse could slow down. The group of quickly circled him, and soon there was no telling which of the six Dangermouse was the real one.

Meta was undeterred by the new pack of rodents, almost happy that his job of replicating the animal would be easier. Concentrating hard on a move he knew oh so well, Meta closed his eyes and pictured himself as a powerful Nidorino, a perfect replica of his opponent. He opened his eyes as the purple jelly that was his body began to squirm and contort. He felt himself start to from legs, a head, a tail, and those gigantic ears. He opened his eyes and looked down at himself. He could see now that he perfectly resembled his opponent, a fact that was clearly upsetting the six Dangermouses. He growled, ready to deal some good damage.

Each of the Dangermouses were growling at their new common opponent. If anybody was angrier than them though, it was the referee. Ampharos had since pretty much given up hope on telling each of the Nidorinos apart from each other, and now he just lay back in a folding chair, sipping orange juice and essentially just there to make sure nobody killed each other. However, though the numbers seemed overpowering, the now adeptly fast Meta was able to just dart ahead of his opponents. He was a bit miffed, as his trainer had said to use Blizzard if Dangermouse used Double Team on the second or third action. But Dangermouse hadn’t done that; he had used Double Team on the first. Well, orders were orders, so he was using Thunder. Meta looked up in the sky and quickly spotted a cloud making its way slowly across the sky. Meta began to channel a powerful electric energy into the cloud, and soon it had turned a foreboding black. Each Dangermouse looked to the sky, though they weren’t very worried, as the chance that the attack would strike the real Nidorino was small. From the cloud came a brilliant flash of lightning. In an instant the bolt struck the ground, and then in a flash (pun intended) the bolt disappeared again. It had been to quick to really see anything but, there were now only six Nidorinos on the field, and not the original seven, so it was quite obvious that one clone had bit the dust.

Dangermouse and his copycats weren’t utterly depressed by the fact. They had to lose at least one clone eventually; all of them would have to be dead and gone by the end of it. So nobody was really depressed. Now Dangermouse and pals began to glow white with powerful normal-type energy. Meta began to back up as the other Nidorinos started to circle him, still not betraying which was the real opponent in the situation. Quick as a flash the Nidorinos charged forward at Meta, coming in from all different angles. The Ditto squealed as he felt the one true body hit him, and he quickly opened his eyes and tried to decipher which was the real one. His eyes swept around the group frantically, but while the real Dangermouse was grimacing in pain the other rodents were following him in stride. Meta realized how hard it was going to be to identify which of these imposters was her real enemy.

There was absolutely no way to figure out which of the Nidorinos would move first, and this time it was Dangermouse, who was not really that happy about having to hurt himself slightly as he attacked, but Karkat had insisted, and trainers were trainers. Why could they never understand that Pokemon hated recoil attacks? Dangermouse grudgingly moved to circle Meta again, his clones following suit with the same annoyed look on their faces. He felt his skin start to warm up as he began to glow white again, and he saw Meta instinctively squeeze his eyes shut. With a small bark Dangermouse charged forward at Meta, and delivered blistering tackle right at the Ditto. He quickly jumped to the side so that Meta would be unable to figure out which Nidorino had struck him, and then backed away with a bit of a limp from striking Meta with such force.

Meta was getting tired of being struck so hard, and was looking forward to hopefully hitting his opponent this action. He knew the chances were low, but he had to have some hope, didn’t he? At least he would get a little bit of a stat boost out of it. The fake Nidorino lowered his head, though first deciding on a Nidorino to run at. As he assumed the position he was able to cover his weak spots and raise his defensive capabilities slightly. It was the little things that counted. With only a small hope of hitting the real Dangermouse, Meta charged forward, bellowing a savage war cry for the effect it made. Dangermouse began to freak out as he realized that his opponent had guessed correctly. Only too late he attempted to catapult himself out of the way, but it was to no avail. The surprised Meta charged right into him, making him feel even more pained. He swatted away Meta with an anger-fuelled paw as he saw his clones, having done their duty, fade into nothingness. It then took a few seconds for the round to actually end then, as the referee had promptly fallen asleep. With a yell from Superbird Ampharos’ snapped his eyes open, quickly looked around, and then waved a lazy flag to end the round.

Why the defense boost? If it's from Skull Bash, that part of the move didn't go into effect until Gen II.

You never actually specified whether Gen. 1 moves would have there Gen. 1 effects only. Fixed anyway though (along with the lower base power for Double-Edge).

All right, Meta. Let's try to paralyze your opponent; if that works it'll help a lot in the long run. And at the same time, let's dish out as much damage as humanly possible. Begin with a Thunder. After that, I don't trust my luck any more, so use Body Slam if Dangermouse isn't paralyzed yet and Skull Bash if it is. Ditto on action 3.

Commands: Ice Beam ~ Ice Beam ~ Ice Beam

Meta just got moving ahead of Dangermouse, edging ahead of the real Nidorino in the speed tie. Though he had a lot of work to do, she was confident that he would be able to get his attack out before Dangermouse, if by just a nanosecond. The fake Nidorino quickly began to channel electricity through, not himself, but one of the many clouds that wove lazily across the bright blue sky once more. Soon the one right above Meta’s head began to darken in colour, until it was a sickly black, foreboding to Dangermouse. Sparks danced across the billowy surface, adding to the malevolence. Meta felt the power of the electricity connected to him bya mental link, making it so that he could choose when to release the power, and this worried him slightly. He wasn’t used to controlling so much energy. He had done it earlier, but he had still been running on adrenaline at that point. Hesitantly, he released the barrage of electricity, and quick as a flash another impressive lightning bolt descended from the sky. However, Meta’s hesitance had had some merit, and the lightning bolt had swerved off course. Dangermouse hadn’t had to move at all, and the Nidorino now cocked his head at his opponent. Surely Meta could do better than that.

The much happier Dangermouse opened his mouth wide. What better time to strike then when one’s opponent has just missed an all-powerful attack? The real Nidorino started to feel his teeth get encrusted in a small covering of frost. If he had been able to look he would have seen them turn blue as well. As this happened a small sphere of the same icy blue colour appeared in Dangermouse’s mouth. The energy sphere grew in size the longer Dangermouse concentrated, until finally Dangermouse couldn’t keep it contained any longer. From the sphere a beam of pure Ice-type energy erupted, sailing towards Meta. The Ditto recoiled as his newly solidified skin was covered in the same frost that had encased Dangermouse’s mandibles. And it had hurt too. He quickly shook himself to get rid of the icy coating. He didn’t want it to stick and leave him permanently frozen. No, he needed to stay agile in his new form. However, before he could get moving, Dangermouse had pulled ahead, already preparing his next attack. Once again he formed a blue energy sphere in his mouth, channelling icy power into it, intent on getting Meta to become frozen in his new form. Once again Dangermouse fired off an Ice Beam in the same fashion as before, heading straight for Meta. He made no attempt to dodge the incoming attack, instead letting himself get hit right on. Quickly he shook himself off once more, removing all ice crystals wishing to stay stuck to his purple form. He was getting tired of repeating the action, but he was determined to not become frozen by the Nidorino’s attacks. Dangermouse could wait though. Meta would get his eventually. He hoped.

Now that it was Meta’s turn to attack once more, the Ditto was firmly set on inflicting good hard damage this time. No more missing with Thunder, he would get him good. The “Nidorino” charged forward on his slightly stubby legs straight for his opponent, Though Nidorins don’t look like they would be able to travel very fast, Meta ran impressively fast for one not used to his body. As he approached Dangermouse he jumped up into the air (all the more impressively) and spread himself out wide like a flying squirrel. Dangermouse couldn’t help but gape as the fake Nidorino flew up obscuring the clouds above. Meta landed with a crash right on top of Dangermouse, causing Karkat’s Nidorino to growl in pain. Meta was quite happy with himself, though his current position wasn’t really that comfortable. He soon extracted himself from the back of his opponent, much to the silent pleasure of Dangermouse. Even as Meta was returning to his spot on the battlefield, Dangermouse was once more forming a sphere of freezing energy in his mouth. He was silently hoping that his last blow of the round would finally freeze his opponent, at least partially. His Ice Beam careened for the still recuperating Meta, where it smacked the Ditto straight in the face. Meta actually let out a displeased noise at this point, quite unhappy with the ice crystals in his eyes. Yet he still shook it all off, completely sure of himself that he would be frozen. And he succeeded. Dangermouse grumbled to himself. Something about no love from the RNG Gods or something like that.

Meta was now determined to accomplish something this round. Yes, his opponent hadn’t managed to freeze him as he had tried so hard to do, but he had still inflicted much more damage than Meta had, and that was a problem. Once again he charged forward on his short little legs, secretly trying to keep his balance in his new form. Once again he took to the air pterodactyl style flying a good ten feet before landing hard on top of Dangermouse. The Nidorino let out a yowl once again as he was struck by the annoying attack. However, as he tried to lift himself up off of the ground, he realized that it was much more of an effort than he was used to. He managed to do it after the Ditto had removed itself, but it was a lot of pain on him. He realized with a pang of horror that when his opponent had slammed into him his spinal cord had become compressed, and he was now effectively paralyzed, just as good as if he had been hit with a Thunder Wave. He growled once more before Denryu signalled the end of the round.

Meta’s commands were simple. Sleep. That he could very easily manage, but first he had to wait for his opponent, though his speed was now laughable. Dangermouse was still struggling with the locked up feeling in his muscles, and the opportunity to go first was happily accepted. Once again he summoned up a small ball of ice-type energy inside his mouth, tainted with small particles of ice and snow. For the umpteenth time he realized a beam if white-blue energy that swiftly flew through the air towards Meta. The Ditto cringed as once more ice crystals began to form over his body. As soon as the beam dissipated he once again made the attempt to remove the ice crystals from his body. But this time, he was a bit slow to the uptake. He managed to shake off most of them, but he seemed to lose his touch slightly. He realized that he had become a bit too idle, as his front legs were now covered in a thick icy coating. But, honestly, he was not worried. This status effect wouldn’t last long. He stretched himself out, lying down, and closed his eyes. Soon he was enveloped in a warm blue glow, a state of resting that did not increase one’s energy, but decreased it. As Meta slept, the ice evaporated from his limbs, causing Dangermouse to become infuriated.

Meta was still conscious of what he was doing, though he was asleep. While his body rested his mind went into a meditative state, still able to perform some of the more basic commands. All his trainer had asked was for him to really rest now, recovering all of the energy he had just lost, and Meta was quite happy to do just that. On the outside however, Dangermouse was anything but happy. He had finally gotten his opponent to succumb to his icy will, and then Meta just wished it all away, making the ice melt and returning to a perfect health condition as well. Now he had to continue using Ice Beam, as his opponent was quite obviously no longer frozen. A ball of icy-blue energy manifested itself inside his mouth, nearly creating a coating of ice on his teeth after being used so much. Dangermouse released a crystalline beam straight at the sleeping Meta, not having to worry about aiming when his opponent could so easily be picked off. The beam stuck to Meta for a moment, and Dangermouse had the faintest hope of reconciliation, but the ice crystals quickly dissipated, and Meta slept on.

With a jolt, Meta’s eyes flashed open, taking quick inventory of his surroundings. Nothing had changed, except for the fact that his opponent looked much angrier. Meta, on the other hand, felt raring and ready to go, though he was still quite tired, even after sleeping. For some reason, his trainer had ordered him to chill while still resting, but he was awake, and not resting. That was quite odd. However, it seemed like the best choice in this situation, and he certainly could use a little bit more relaxation time. He could live through one of Dangermouse’s Ice Beams if he had to. Dangermouse did have just that intention, to fire off another freezing energy blast. But today just didn’t seem to be his day. He began loading up another attack, but in the process his entire body completely stopped working, all but his vital organs and his pupils, which darted around frantically. Paralysis, now!? The small orb of icy energy that was halfway created in his mouth quickly began to disappear and dissolve into his mouth, making his tongue indescribably cold. Meta continued to sit there, letting his energy flow back into him, gleefully watching his opponent struggle.
