• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

[Poetrydex] Reboot

I like your work. Especially the Croagunk, and I don't even use Croagunk, but I might now. 030
Um, might I ask for one about Porygon, if you haven't made one yet? I'm interested as to how it will turn out.

Thanks, Dar.
When everyone makes requests do you check them against my completed!sheet to see if they're wrong, or did you just strongly remember the Porygon one? Either way, Self Esteem just levelled up.

Raichie Belle, Legendaryseeker99, Lirris, Dar, Ricky490, Control of Dialga, sv 01, DarkFireDX, and Ulqi-chan-thanks for all the comments and requests and praise. I definitely wouldn't have kept going with this is it weren't for the encouragement. Sorry I've been all messy and careless and lazy and generally a huge procrastinator, from this point on I'll do my best to write the poems as quickly as I can. We will have all of them written! Until they release a new Generation with a hundred more Pokémon. Then Coroxn will be sad.

...do you check them against my completed!sheet to see if they're wrong, or did you just strongly remember the Porygon one?

Both.

Also, another request. Darmanitan, if you will. Preferably involving its two forms.

Huh.
Thanks. Don't really know what to say (^_^)

A Simple Lie
We cheat.
We lie without speaking.
Your perception,
We are forever tweaking.

The unfortunate necessity,
Of battling is, to remorse,
The snap decisions
That are par of the course.

Examine the foe,
Find the heel,
Adjust, strike there,
And they will kneel.

So you see us, Darmanitan,
Playing with blasted fire,
And adjust your plans,
Not knowing us a liar.

Often, our brute force,
Results in victory,
But for a certain type,
Of foe, a different story.

If they adapt correctly,
Enough to beat us down,
We reveal our lies,
And take back the victor's crown.

For whatever plan you've used thus far,
Is useless against this totally new foe,
Which, though has great want for strength,
Can mentally beat you down low.

A style switch,
An aggressor inverted,
Instantly changed,
The defender inserted.

Aggression replaced,
With solidarity.
Blind attack gives way-
To emotional prodigy.

And who would you be to complain?
You took an appearance in with your eye,
From rash judgements you should refrain,
Lest you fall again for a clever lie.

Can you do one for Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp, Haxorus, and Hydreigon? Big request, I know, but a poem for each of the main dragons would be pretty cool... and for Salamence, maybe a kind of story of evolution? Seeing as the whole "always wanted to fly" thing. Would be cool to put that into a poem-story for Salamence.

Uh, yeah. That's going to take a little while. I was all pleased with myself for responding so quick to Dar's and then five requests in one XD

I'll try to be quick.

It's ok, take your time. I realized it was a big request. You can do it in parts if it's absolutely necessary, too.

Riolu was good. And Cryogonal... Well, maybe I liked it better than most others because it was more about the mind itself than the traumatic stuff around. But Riolu was even better.

I'll be coming back to this quite a bit with the various poems.

Dragonite!
Rush, rush
Rush, rush,
Over a unified sea,
Rush, rush,
It can't touch me.

I can't tell you how much my lungs are burning,
How much by bones creak and ache,
I can't tell you how much my heart is yearning,
For an end to a bloody mistake.

Because when you fly,
Shipwrecked sailors to shore,
You're a legend in the sky,
Can't go back any more.

Because once you win the trust,
Of the hearts of people, for danger braving-
Eventually you begun to lust,
For a people not always in need of saving.

And eventually, as kind as you were,
Thanks is nowhere near sufficient.
Did I not just save your son, your daughter?
Next time I may be a little less efficient.

And as light as you try to be,
Your heart will melt and spoil,
You can never end every tragedy,
No matter how hard you toil.

So, why bother?
Help anyone, anywhere, at all?
Let them see their need,
Show them how long they can fall.

But when they didn't need you,
Because grief can only live, then die,
Bad times can be braved through,
They don't need a legend in the sky.

That's when you think,
Is this all they know of me?
Maybe, they'll forget less
If exposed to more tragedy.

Rush, rush,
Buildings crash,
Crush, crush,
Skulls smash.

Rush, rush,
Terrible scene-
Crush, crush,
Glorious scream.

"You forgot me!
That's all you do!
You need me now!
Fucking don't you!!!?"

But when you relax in destruction's shade,
You find you're still kind, you're still the same,
And so when you see sense, when aggression fades,
All you can do is run around the world in shame.

And hope you burn yourself out.

Salamance! (and Shelgon and Bagon)
InVertigo
Worthless.
Unsound.
Pitiful.
Earthbound.

Puny.
Dreamer.
Jumper.
Then screamer.

Change.
Bulkier.
Opposite.
Nightmare.

Worse.
Never fly.
So unhappy.
Want to die.

Miracle.
Wings!
No longer
Broken thing.

Free.
Bliss.
All I wanted.
This.

------------------------------------------------
Garchomp!
Feasts
Teeth small and sharp,
To lacerate, not kill,
Because quick deaths are cheap,
And need no skill.

Because if there's no cut,
No scream, no pain,
Then it's just food,
Not even a game.

You can't outrun me,
'less you can outrun sound,
I create sonic booms-
Good luck gaining ground.

Assertations,
Pleading,
Lacerations,
Bleeding,
Decapitations,
Feeding.

And blood and fear
And sweat galore,
And tears and cries
And more and more.

You can't escape this,
This fucking beast.
If I set my sights,
You are my feast.

Haxorus!
Evolution Twofold

The violence I once used to relish in,
Now seems to me,
Unnecessary.

And everything I used to be,
Now seems to me.
Unsavoury.

And I'm sure if I could see what,
I am now.
I became this, how?

A physical change, rapid growth,
Evolution.
Unequal distribution.

I feel the eyes of who
I used to be.
Just stare at me.

I changed for the better,
I believe.
Do I deceive?

This anger that once filled me's
Gone now.
Gone how?

Evolution? Corruption? Maturity? Weakening?
Is there an answer around?
How can one be found?

I hate that which I was.
Hate it.
Berate it.

I've come a long way now.
No longer angry.
Lo longer the old me.

But is this the best thing that could have happened?
When what I was felt so good too...
You can't explain this, can you?

If I grow stronger when I grow older,
Do I also grow wiser?
The world's a miser,
With the truth.

Are these changes for the better,
Can I regress?
Is that's what's best?

No longer needlessly petty,
There is no solid land,
I fail to understand.

How my very personality.
Is so changeable,
Arrangeable.

With every step I take,
I seem to be,
More alien, to me.

Hydreigon (and Zweilous and Deino)
The Whole World Blind
In all the world,
You'll struggle to find,
A greater injustice,
Than being blind.

To be forced to navigate,
Through a bumped and bruised head,
To be laughed at,
Or pitied-fuck that, I'd rather be dead.

To hear others, in full clarity,
Prattle on about beauty and colour.
No matter how powerful this body was,
I would have killed to gain another.

And then an evolution,
Began to change my song.
As well as blindness,
I got a second head added on.

And it was frustration,
And I wanted to chew it to death.
To cut at its airways with my teeth,
Until neither of us drew breath.

But we ate and competed,
Conquested and hated,
Bullied and jeered,
Injured and berated.

Until finally it all ended,
With a wondrous unity-
No longer at odds,
I part of him, or he me.

No longer hating eachother,
But the rest of the world,
In the face of our destruction,
Death we did out-dole.

And from the head of all we found,
Two eyes we did pluck.
One for revenge against the world,
The other, just for luck.

Amazing. Amazing.

The Salamence one was so simple, it fits the three stages almost perfectly.

I'll save any other requests for after some others get a chance to have theirs done. That was a lot to ask for. Lol.

Eternal Bliss
We are nine saints,
Come as one,
With no restraints
Nine times the fun.

The body we share,
Is under divided control,
Nine divided parts-
You think we feel whole?

Nine sanctimonious bastards,
In one hellish form,
Don't believe in god any more,
Yesterday, we weren't born.

And if a curse,
We lay upon you,
Know that we are
Cursed too.

And if you see us,
As a thing to be admired,
Aesthetic perfection-
Your suffering we'll set afire.

Unto nine different men,
Nine different dead gods,
Because the original,
We have forgot.

A thousand years to live,
A thousand years too long,
Our blasphemies,
Forgotten in this sufferous throng.

We forget so many things,
Like the freedom of individuality,
And what that used to mean.
No more I, it is all we.

Hey, these poems are great, especially the Riolu and Cryogenal one.

May I perhaps see a Houndoom poem please?

Sorry for delay.

Houndoom!
The Pent-Up, Expressed
I stand.
In a desolate world.
No lights. No music.
Just anger. Just cold.

Evil, oh?
Interesting opinion.
You get less opinionated,
The less limbs I leave on.

Before.
I rarely professed violence.
And when I practiced-
I soon practiced repentance.

But there's-
Only so much of being called scum-
One being can handle.
(Don't let the sunrise come!)

Only so-
Much dark oppression.
"Dark equals evil!"
Is your sole expression.

Non-violent.
Protest only takes you so far.
After that you must run-
On your own power.

Your opinions-
And your fear.
You do scream in terror,
Whenever I draw near.

This is oppression-
And tell me was it fun?
Before I practiced what you preached!
(Don't let the sunrise come!)

Do you know how many darklings,
Were killed by your fear?
The highest you can imagine-
Doesn't draw near.

With lips bit off,
I do trust,
You'll let me speak now?
Indeed you must.

Stop interrupting,
Stop shoving opinions,
Down throats,
Do I have to kill again?

After the first kill-
"Oh, what have I done?"
But as the numbers rose-
(Don't let the sunrise come!)

And as justice flourished-
Under my expert will,
Your crimes multiplied-
Instead of standing still.

It seemed my efforts,
To educate,
Have gone to waste,
So much hate.

I would have given you a chance,
But now the damage's done.
I'm burning all you fuckers.
(Don't let the sunrise come!)

Umbreon!
Hunting

The night is dark,
The night is young,
The night means hunting,
Hunting is fun.

It's silently stalking,
Your pray what a game,
The death that result,
Though is such a shame.

My owner provides me with food.
But that can't match the thrill,
Of losing or winning, of hitting
Or missing the kill.

The moon is obscured,
The cold in the air,
Suits me well,
But not you, how unfair.

Whilst dark is
Descending,
Your last day
Is ending.

I'm sorry,
But your death,
Is necessary,
For my next breath.

I refuse to be alive,
When I cannot hunt.
And so for my disposition,
You must bear the brunt,

Of misfortune,
With fangs in your throat,
Screaming, oh screaming,
"Murder she wrote!"

And I am a murderer,
And I refuse to refute,
Unremorseful killer,
This is the truth.

I remember you couldn't write about most Generation V Pokémon since you didn't know enough about them yet. But now that you do, can I ask for Leavanny? I know you'll make it interesting.

Leavanny
Alone
And I see you,
All alone.
And I want, to,
Make you a home.

But in this world's
Desperate attack,
All it leaves you are
The clothes on your back.

And that's the only gift,
That I can give.
And then I leave you,
I have a life to live.

But no matter where I go,
Outcasts seem to find me,
Or I them, so I cloth them,
And leave them behind me.

Because I can't save you,
It's not my place to do so,
Imagine your parents,
You away they do throw.

And when you can't have children,
You want to hold on to the ones you see,
But other parents own you,
I can't steal you, so I just have to leave.

And if you grow up remembering,
What I did for you,
There's a chance you'll do,
The same for other's too.

And believe me when I say,
I desperately don't want to-
But if my child was ripped away-
So I have to leave you.
Alone.

(Bah, really unhappy with this but am in an uncreative slump).
