Once, the Twilight Cathedral was a peaceful place, devoted to the honoring of Gods. Now, all Gods have left, and it is home only to Tiamut, the freakish Bat Queen, spawn of Hell. The Cathedral itself is a massive, open air room, with plenty of room to fly in. In the center is a large pool, ample room for housing even the largest of Pokémon. It is acidic to all but Poison-Type Pokémon, and will cost 1% Health per action for those in it. The ground is worn and cracked, and the remenants of stone Church pews are littered around, as are the scratched remains of great statues.

At the end of the room is a large spiral staircase, leading up to the top of the Cathedral's Spire. At the top is Tiamut, the Bat Queen herself, who eagerly watches the fight. Anyone who strays to near her will find themselves attacked by her jaws. If anyone attacks the Bat Queen, she is liable to send down her children, who will deal a massive 30% damage to anyone they can reach before flying back to their mother.

Round 6 Begin!

Coroxn throws forth a Pokéball that, in some bizarre time paradox, he actually happens to have given away - a Sableye is called forth, who looks around in a suitably jittery manner.

Chelsae looks at Lostprophet for a few seconds and then bursts into rasping laughter. Between rasps she begins to yell to the Sableye - hey you! Gem-creature! What are you meant to be? You're a ghost, right? So why the shiny things? And you look weak, you know! I bet you're weak. I bet you can't even beat me without resorting to one trick over and over again! And so forth. While it's intended to make Lostprophet unable to repeat a move, it seems to simply go over her head - she continues grinning widely, that same unnerving smile. Suddenly, she makes a move: an orb of crackling, glowing psychic energy begins to form over the top of her head, and she suddenly lowers her head to point it at Chelsae. She begins to run towards the Skorupi, the orb suddenly morphing into a dome. She crashes into Chelsae, the energy giving her what feels like a strong electric shock; she convulses, her tail flailing madly as she tries to regain control of her muscles, while Lostprophet retreats.

The very second she regains control, Chelsae charges at Lostprophet. Claws raised high in the air and crackling with green energy, she slices through the creature's incorporeal body, the energy searing as it passes through her; Lostprophet winces, trying to pull away. Chelsae pulls her claws out of the Sableye and turns away - a fatal mistake in a battle, never turn your back on your opponent. Because as she has done so, she can't tell that Lostprophet is attacking: another dome of psychic energy crashes into her, once again burning her from the inside, and it's just too much for her to take. She collapses to the ground, unconscious, and is silently recalled by her trainer.

Alright, let's go with Iron Tooth (which is my Axew, though it isn't listed as his nickname in the first post)

Signature Move: Elemental Bane

Being a Dragon-type, Iron Tooth is particularly good at defending against the four types commonly referred to as "elemental": Water, Grass, Fire, and Electric. However, this Axew has never been the type to simply play defensively. No, Iron Tooth prefers to attack the opponent rather than let them slowly fade away. So Iron Tooth has developed a special technique that he believes will help him be a much more powerful Pokemon.

Iron Tooth charges forward at his opponent, mouth open wide. As he does this he harnesses a special kind of energy he found deep within his body. Energy that he normally uses to deflect against elemental attacks is reversed, and instead he uses this power to increase his own offensive ability. As he runs forward his tusks begin to grow a dark-purple colour, the shade usually used to categorize Dragon-type Pokemon. He strikes his opponent with his tusks, leaving a much larger mark on Elemental Pokemon.

However, as he is using energy that is usually defensive against such elemental Pokemon, he is able to adjust the power of the move based on how risky he wants to get with losing his defensive capabilities. The more powerful the attack, the longer he loses his resistance. This is regardless towards whether the attack misses or not. The table is below.

7% power: 1 action, 6% energy
9% power: 2 actions, 7% energy
11% power: 3 actions, 8% energy

Even though this attack is Dragon-type in its making, the attack is not conventional and thus other Dragon-types do not feel weak against this attack, actually resisting the attack quite effectively.

Dragon / Physical / 7%/9%/11% / 85% / Single / 6%/7%/8%
Effects: Iron Tooth strikes his opponent with his tusks using a special type of Dragon energy. This attack is considered super-effective against Electric, Water, Fire, and Grass-type Pokemon, while it is resisted by Dragon-type Pokemon. After this move is used Iron Tooth loses his resistance to elemental types for a certain amount of time, depending on the power of the attack.
Usage Gap: 2 rounds (6 actions)

OK Iron Tooth, start with a Swords Dance, then use two Dragon Claws. If he uses Ice Punch at any time switch to Counter. If you didn't get to use Swords Dance on the first action, or it failed, use it on the second. If you're taunted on the first action, use Dragon Claw.

Swords Dance/Counter/Dragon Claw ~ Dragon Claw/Counter/Swords Dance ~ Dragon Claw/Counter

Use Psychic to knock him in the acid pool. Attempt until you succeed. Once he is, use Confuse Ray. Attempt until you succeed. Use Icy Wind on him if, by some miracle, he's confused and in the water by action 3.

Round 7 Begin!

The next battler onto the field is a small, greenish biped, with a fin sticking out of its head and two horns sticking out of the sides of its mouth. It roars into the air, stamps, and looks for its opponent - a male, he presumes. But upon seeing Lostprophet, a female, he seems to go timid: he lowers his head, goes very quiet, and ceases stamping around. Lostprophet, as well as Coroxn, observes this with some interest - perhaps this could work in their favour.

Iron Tooth is very reluctant to attack Lostprophet. She's a girl! Not, of course, that girls are weaker or anything - he has a chip in one of his horns as testament to that fact - but he does kind of have a soft spot for the ladies, and he's really not keen on the idea of hurting her. Still, at least his first command doesn't involve actually hurting her: he leaps up, still keeping his head lowered, and begins a strange dance. Spinning in place, striking his claws to his horns, sharpening them against one another, leaping into the air, and generally getting himself all worked up. When he stops, panting and grinning, he's a lot more ready to attack. Lostprophet, having been watching him with interest, snaps out of it: a pink light shimmers in the core of her 'eyes' as she concentrates her energy, quickly engulfing Iron Tooth in an aura of the same color. He panics as he finds himself floating into the air, wobbling slightly, and suddenly hurling in a neat parabola right for the pool - he lands with a splash, and cries out as it immediately begins eating at his skin. He struggles and flails, doing his best to focus so that he can get back to the shore.

Iron Tooth continues to struggle to swim through the acid, gaining remarkably little purchase on each stroke. Meanwhile, another light shimmers in Lostprophet's eyes, this time a rainbow color; it shimmers and then, emerging into the rest of the world, takes form as a small, glowing orb; it darts over to Iron Tooth and begins bobbing around his head, and he stares at it. Its colors... its shimmer... it's simply transfixing - but there's no time for that; he has to get out of the pool. He struggles on.

As he does, Lostprophet darts over to the shore of the acid lake in that jerky, broken motion she has. She inhales deeply - purely for effect, dead creatures don't breathe - and then opens her mouth, as intimidatingly as she can. She exhales strongly (again, effect alone) and breathes out a gust of horribly, horribly cold air; Iron Tooth makes a groaning sound as he fights the hibernation instinct, doing his best to soldier on despite the cold that numbs his limbs and slows his motions. As Lostprophet darts away, he finally struggles to shore, panting and gasping. His heavy joints hinder him when, a good few minutes later, he struggles to his feet - only to be distracted as the glowing light orb shimmers in front of his eyes again, taking his focus from the battle momentarily.

Begin phasing and turn incorporeal for three actions. Then on your first turn, use Telekinesis to suspend the Axewm, so he cannot attack you. Then, toss a Shadow Ball up at the Queen, so she sends down her children on the Axew. They won't be able to touch you, though, as you'll be incorporeal, and the Axew will barely be able to defend himself. Thirdly, Icy Wind the little dragon.

((Shouldn't Iron Tooth be at +2 Attack?))

Alright, start with Dragon Pulse, Should still hit even if you're in the air and he's incorporeal. I'm not sure if being incorporeal makes him invisible as well, but if it does just aim for the floating gems. Next up if Tiamut is apparently on another floor of the Cathedral, so I'm not sure if Shadow Ball will reach or not. If you start to see bats fly down from the sky, quickly throw up a Protect. If not, another Dragon Pulse. Finish off with another Dragon Pulse.

Round 8 Begin!

Iron Tooth coughs and splutters for a few seconds more, trying to get the burning sensation out of his throat before he can do anything else. Failing miserably, he turns to face Lostprophet and begins to contract the muscles in his throat as though trying to force something up. A few more convulsions and he coughs, vomiting a rippling wave of draconic energy towards Lostprophet. It hits, imploding in a rather interesting visual event; Lostprophet winces, but throws it off pretty quickly. She raises her hands high and a sparkle of psychic energy flashes in the gems embedded in her head; as the purple body begins to fade into incorporeality, Iron Tooth finds himself feeling lighter. He begins to float upwards, and within seconds he's suspended a full metre off the ground; he looks at Lostprophet, seeing only floating gems. The ghost has become invisible.

But that's not going to deter Iron Tooth. He can still see the gems, so he can still aim; he can rotate himself in mid-air, so he can attack. Lazily rotating so that he'd be lying on his stomach were he on the ground, he opens his mouth wide and, again, vomits up a shimmering pulse. Reality seems to bend around it just slightly as it tears through the air towards her. It crashes into the jumble of gemstones, neatly absorbing into the gems and searing at the Sableye, intangibility aside. She growls, not that anyone can tell, and raises her invisible hands in front of her; she charges up a ball of ghostly energy, visible even to those around her, and aims for the flight of stairs. She hurls it forward and into the archway, trying to guide it up the curving stairs; it's too hard to control accurately, though, and smashes into the wall, disintegrating.

Almost lazily Iron Tooth begins another Dragon Pulse, vomiting up another ripple of energy that bends the very air around it before colliding with the floating gems, absorbing into them and causing the unseen ghost to flinch. She's beginning to get quite annoyed now; she concentrates, and the two topmost floating gems sparkle briefly with a blue energy; a cold, horribly cold begins to blow from in front of her to Iron Tooth, once again causing his joints to stiffen up quite uncomfortably. And with perfect timing, the psychic energy holding him in the air dissipates, leaving him to fall to the ground with a thud.

- No, -1 attack is accurate. You're forgetting Rivalry.
- Shadow Ball is not really possible to control for long enough to get it up the flight of stairs.
- I'm gonna say that incorporeal also means invisible. It uses scientific logic, even! If nothing can touch her, then photons can't hit her, therefore they can't bounce off her to form an image. Of course, by that logic most phased ghosts would be blind too, but whatever. :D

Round 9 Begin!

It's a couple more seconds before Iron Tooth gets up from his little place in the dirt, but get up he does. Shakily raising himself onto his feet, he opens his mouth again, another pulse of draconic energy building up inside; with a coughing motion he ejects the energy, blasting it at Lostprophet's floating gems. As it hits her, she suddenly snaps back into the physical plane, her body reappearing as a wraithlike purple smoke; the energy swirls inside her and burns her from the inside out before she solidifies fully, absorbing it into herself. She winces, but then drops onto all fours, her gemstones shimmering with a ghostly light; the ground beneath her ripples and she suddenly dives in, opening up a very neat tunnel behind her and solidifying to hold that shape. Deep underground, Lostprophet grins; no way the Axew can get her now.

Aboveground, Iron Tooth is frustrated; he has no way to attack Lostprophet short of jumping down the hole - and he's not going to be doing that, since she could well have an attack waiting for him at the bottom, and also he's not entirely sure he'd fit. But his commands leave him nothing else to do but Dragon Pulse, so he begins charging up energy in his mouth - at which point the glowy light suddenly darts back into his line of sight, and he becomes distracted. The energy continues to build while he forgets to open his mouth, and suddenly he's harshly reminded: there's nowhere else for the energy to go but back into his stomach, and he swallows the entire thing, searing his throat and causing him to cough violently. Lostprophet, unaware of all this, simply sits there, cross-legged, and munches on a gemstone she found lodged in the wall of her tunnel.

Growling, Iron Tooth begins once more to charge up the attack, careful this time to open his mouth at the right moment. He releases the draconic pulse at a random part of the pool, simply to see the splash, and watches as the water twirls around it; he considers that it would be quite a useful technique in a contest. Underground, Lostprophet continues to crunch up the chipped gemstone and grins, enjoying the taste.

Iron Tooth doesn't move for a while. In actuality he's resting, allowing his body to slowly restore the energy he's used up in the course of the battle; it's not visible to anyone else, and all they see is him standing there, motionless. Lostprophet, meanwhile, finishes munching on her ruby; she tosses aside the remains and begins to claw at the wall of her tunnel, hoping that she's heading the right way. It seems her hopes are well-placed: she slashes through a wall, then pulls her hand back with a yelp; acid dribbles through the hole, her hand burning from its brief contact. As quickly as she can, she fades out of the material world, her purple flesh disappearing. Her gemstones, though, remain solid, and she winces as the acid, suddenly bursting through the wall in a flood to fill the tunnel, burns away at their surface.

On the surface, Iron Tooth actually gets to moving, leaping into the air and beginning an energetic dance. Spinning and twirling, jumping and dashing his claws together, he builds up his fighting spirit and sharpens his natural weapons. Underground, Lostprophet does his best to ignore the itchy burning of the acid, simply resting and, like Iron Tooth before, letting her body recover its lost energy. Iron Tooth continues to spin and dance for another couple of minutes more, before the glowy light appears once more: he stumbles, tripping and falling, and his tusk gouges a little furrow in the ground as he falls. He groans, seeming disinclined to move.

Notes
- The acid is going to deal her some damage, though a reduced amount. Most of her is incorporeal and thus immune to the acid, but her gemstones are still physical - though they're pretty resistant to acid, so I'm thinking more like 1% per round.

Arena Notes
- There's a little puddle where Chelsae's Substitute exploded.
- There's a tunnel, now full of acid, leading from Lostprophet's area of the field to the edge of the pool.

Next Round
- Ampharos attacks
- Coroxn attacks

Actually, uh, Chills were banned, weren't they? ((Yes, yes they were))

Can we just continue the battle as it's been going, pretending that for some reason Chills were magically unbanned for those few rounds, and now they're banned once more?

I really don't want to do the last two rounds over :/

EDIT: Also, for reference, how full is the pool now?

To the first, that'll be fine if Coroxn agrees.

As to the second, only marginally less full than it was. I imagine the pool as pretty big relative to the tunnel.

OK, two more things before I order. The trivial one, Elemental Bane is a move, not an attribute. The more important one, is Iron Tooth still that confused? He's been that way for 3 rounds, with a chill. Is this a typo/forgotten status, or is this how your scale works?

OK, let's see. Once she makes herself visible in some way (or her gems visible), Taunt her. After she's been successfully taunted, send those Dragon Pulses at her. If she decides to stay underground (why?) try Dragon Dances I guess.

Taunt/Dragon Dance ~ Taunt/Dragon Pulse/Dragon Dance x2
