The Great Library

The Great Library is, as the name suggests, a large library. Very large, in fact. Roughly three Wailord long by three Wailord wide, and the roof appears to be infinitely high. The walls are lined with bookshelves, and in the very center there is a very large, decapitated frog statue, though it doesn't do much. There are also three treasure chests lying around, but they contain nothing of interest - a scarf, a hat and sunglasses. These items do nothing bar make the Pokémon's FASHION, MANGRIT or COOLNESS (respectively) go up. This has no effect. It does not take a full action to open these chests, so a Pokémon could be ordered to "open the chest and then use Water Pulse", for instance.

Now, these books are something special. A Pokémon can spend an action reading one in order to add three moves, randomly selected, to its movepool. This can occur up to twice, at which point the Pokémon has too much new knowledge. They are also very old, rare and valuable, so nothing can be used that will destroy the bookshelves. This is basically limited to burning or soaking them, since they are hardbacks and therefore resistant to force. Also for the love of Jebus please don't read the one with erotic fanservice about the queen.​

Upon release, Vitamin C glows green, and a ball of energy slips from her armoured shell, sliding through the air towards Ni Wa. The green ball soaks through the baltoy's brown skin, and Ni Wa shivers in pain; luckily the attack quickly flows through it, and Ni Wa is able to focus again on its orders. Its... strangely comforting orders.

The baltoy closes its eyes and concentrates, focusing on a part of its brain it knows well - the martyr part, the self-destructive, masochistic part. But it finds that part is blocked off, as if something in the arena, or... this battle, has blocked it. Ni Wa opens its eyes again, confused and bewildered, having no commands to counter this happenstance. It stares in panic at its opponent, unable to do anything at all.

Vitamin C pauses, also confused at her opponent's complete inability to do anything, but doesn't hesitate before lobbing another ball of greenish energy Ni Wa's way. The energy ball soaks through Ni Wa's skin, as before, and the baltoy is quickly looking rather dejected; the balls seem to leave her burnt out where they touch, as if they're poisonous to her skin. Ni Wa twitches in pain, unsure of what, exactly to do. It tries again to implode itself, but knows it's in vain - there is nothing it's done between its last attempts that would allow it access to that now rather than before. And indeed, it can't, and there is no explosion.

Vitamin C sighs, a bit wary of her opponent, that Ni Wa is possibly cooking something up - but she again releases an energy ball. Again, the energy soaks through Ni Wa, tinting her brown skin blackish, and the baltoy floats lower to the ground, no desire to keep going; it wanted to end this at the beginning of the round! It tries again to finish itself, but it can't. What kind of failure can't even explode itself? It whimpers pathetically, in pain both outside and in, wishing it could just all stop.​

Vitamin C twirls around, glowing green; the glow spreads out from the ferroseed and flows towards Ni Wa, soaking into the baltoy's skin. Ni Wa shivers in pain, clearly not enjoying itself, and in fact it seems to be barely hanging on - but at least it has some plan of how to end its pain now. It waves a hand in front of itself and grabs a shadow from a nearby bookshelf, forming it into a smallish orb; the orb floats in front of the baltoy for a mere second before slamming right back into Ni Wa. The baltoy actually whimpers in pain, wondering why exactly it has to do this to itself, why it can't just be returned now - what has it done to its trainer to upset her?

Vitamin C stares at Ni Wa, just as confused as the baltoy, but not about to waste this opportunity. She spins around and releases more green energy, which squirms through the air and squishes into Ni Wa. The baltoy practically collapses on itself from the impact - all this collective damage has finally gotten to it and it just floats down to the floor, eyes closing slowly. It doesn't get up, and it's quite clear that it's finally fallen unconscious. Vitamin C blinks in confusion at this... strange battle, but doesn't complain when Ni Wa is returned to its pokeball in a flash of red.​
