Negrek vs. Simulator (Zapdos)

Man, how I wish I was reffing this. The intro would've been plenty fun to write.

Woah what hold on I thought Wooper was pure water. Stupid Mudkips confusing me. Ugh, ground types, always making my life difficult...

Extrasensory thrice, switch to Charge Beam if Aximili or his Sub, if applicable, is inaccessible. Buh. Lazy atm.

DQ Time: 5 days
Damage Cap: None
Banned moves: OHKOs, Chills 5/Pokemon, 1 direct healing/Pokemon, Perish Song
Arena: Basic Stage

The Basic Stage is simply that; a plain expanse of mottled white tiled floor. A large pond of water waits on the side, for Water types to use and stay in. Above is the sky, where for now, the sun hovers far above. There are no special effects, and the field is completely flat, the tiling reaching about a hundred feet square. The tiling isn’t very strong, and can easily be broken for access to dirt for moves such as Dig and Mud Slap.

Negrek pulls out a Pokeball, holding it up as Onix changes into red light and zips into the Pokeball. With a bit of thought, she replaces Onix's Pokeball with a different one; throwing it not too far from Zapdos with something of a smile. There's a bright flash, and as the sand and light fade slightly, the outline of a Wooper, Aximili, can be made out. Aximili looks back at his Trainer with his typical blank smile, before facing forwards again and spotting his opponent. From closer up, it would appear that the blood's drained from his face, as he looks somewhat paler now. Still with the empty smile on his face, Aximili takes a few cautious steps back while Zapdos eyes him with obvious amusement. Showing off now, it raises its good wing and beak, letting a few sparks of electricity run across its body. Zapdos stabs its beak in Aximili's direction and screeches, startling the Wooper and making him fall onto his tail. Shaking his head, he stands up again with a determined look on his face and tries not to make eye contact with Zapdos, staring at its talons instead.

Eager to fight (or maybe just eat?) this new, way smaller opponent, Zapdos reaches out with its mind to Aximili's comparatively smaller one, and squeezes. The brave look on the Wooper's face wavers, and he winces as his head throbs, growing into a massive headache. Aximili makes a little sound and steps back again, closing his eyes tightly and willing the pain to go away. Zapdos narrows its eyes in concentration, focusing on leaving the best first impression it can, before easing up on its mental assault and letting itself relax slightly, while still keeping a close eye on the tiny Wooper.

Aximili shakes his head to try and clear the ringing, and steps forwards until he is back in his original position a few meters away from Zapdos. Squeezing his eyes shut, he concentrates on his mental energy supply and focuses on drawing some away from himself, moving it into the general area in front of him and mentally shaping it into bricks. Keeping a few strands of the invisible energy attached to himself, Aximili blinks and opens his eyes as he feels himself getting somewhat light-headed. He teeters a bit, before finding his footing and looking up at Zapdos with some anticipation.

Zapdos lets its faint lightheadedness wear off before beginning its mental assault on Aximili again. Reaching out with its mind, it surrounds Aximili's and squeezes again, making the Wooper squirm. When its own head starts to ache a bit, it loosens its grip on the Wooper's mind and retreats into itself, smirking the best it can with its beak.

Waiting for his headache to go away again, Aximili takes a few deep breaths to calm himself down. As the pain fades, he opens his mouth and yawns loudly, as if he's getting sleepy just sitting there and taking attacks. Closing his eyes, he reaches out with the few powers of the mind he has and gently prods at Zapdos, lightly enough to not be noticeable.

Zapdos blinks. How long has this battle gone on, anyways? It does seem to be sort of tired, actually. For some reason, it feels like it hasn't slept for quite a long time, and resolves to take a little break as soon as it can. Tucking its head closer to its body, Zapdos reaches out with its mind again, somewhat clumsily closing around Aximili's and squeezing one more time. Aximili squirms as his head begins to throb, and shuts his eyes tightly in an effort to ignore the pain when it already starts to fade. Already quite asleep, Zapdos unconsciously releases its grip on Aximili and retreats into itself.

Slightly surprised but glad his plan worked, Aximili does his best to not waste this opportunity. He draws more energy away from himself, adding to the sort of aura of energy already around him. Pressing this energy into the shape of bricks, again, he builds up the sort of wall of energy until there's an invisible short wall about his height in front of him. Satisfied with this, Aximili experimentally taps it with his tail, finding it passes through but sort of holds him in place, like the air is sticky. Across from him, Zapdos flinches slightly in its sleep and shuffles around to protect its head, as if sand is getting in its eyes. Aximili smiles and nods to the unconscious Zapdos across from him, and waits for commands from his Trainer.

Notes
-There's a small hole on the ground, revealing a pit of dirt.
-Some distance away from that, there's a far wider hole that leads into a twisted tunnel, though roughly half of it is sealed by a thick layer of rock. The tunnel then leads to a section that spirals upwards.
-The tiles are more or less completely destroyed in the area around Aximili and Zapdos.
-A sandstorm is raging (1 more action).

@Negrek; your Cabanela avatars are pretty cool, I have to note. :V!

(( Zapdos ended last round at 89% energy, so I don't think he'd be at 115% just now. :P ))

Okay, Aximili! We should win or lose in the next two actions. Since we won't be bothering Zapdos until we deal the killing blow, I hope we can rely on it sleeping for two actions (though only moderate sleep already whyyyy it hasn't even been an action yet). So, barring sleep talk shenanigans, we win in that scenario.

Stockpile for 23%, then spit up. If you're still around after doing that, chill.

If Zapdos has clones or a substitute on any action, forget spit up and instead smack him with earthquake. Move spit up to the next action if available.

If Zapdos is awake on either of the latter two actions, or protecting or detecting, chill then and see if you can spit up or earthquake on the next.

Good luck! Slay the legend, my little ultra-happy wooper who actually has a signature attribute I forgot about but which almost certainly isn't going to matter anyway.

Stockpile (23%) ~ Spit Up / Earthquake / Chill x2

(( Thank you! Everything is better with Cabanela. :D ))

Ugh, I knew I should've thrown up a Substitute. Anyway. Sleep Talk, then when you wake up, Protect if a Spit Up is coming. Otherwise uhhh, Extrasensory I guess.

Zapdos tenses and shivers, and Aximili pauses, making sure that his opponent remains asleep. It does, unconsciously slumping lower into itself, and Aximili lets out a relieved breath. From his standpoint he can hear faint murmurings from the bird, and wonders if it's only pretending to be asleep. Eyes closed, it suddenly snaps its good wing open, and rushes at Aximili, jumping into the air. Even with the short leap, Zapdos somehow finds enough momentum to start spinning through the air, passing with a bit of difficulty through Aximili's invisible brick wall. Its beak strikes the Wooper not too far away from its eye, making him cry out in surprise. Zapdos flaps its good wing and takes a few steps back, not in its original place but still a decent distance away from Aximili. Its breathing is heavier now, but it still seems to be rather asleep.

Aximili stands and gives Zapdos a good look, trying to decide whether or not to step back a bit. From what he can tell, the thunderbird is still rather asleep so he gets right to work. Aximili begins pouring more energy into the mental brick wall between himself and Zapdos. There's a faint shimmer in the air as mental bricks fizzle into shape, and he has to smile at his work, tired as he might be. The rush of the sand and wind begins to quiet, and as Aximili looks around the sand in the air just suddenly drops to the ground. It's almost completely silent now, except for Zapdos' slightly ragged breathing.

Zapdos slowly raises its head, eyes still closed, and beings murmuring again. It continues like this for a short time, not really doing anything and just generally creeping Aximili out, when its good wing snaps up again, and Zapdos begins to bring the dust up around it, making odd shapes. A bird-like shape forms, and Zapdos breathes out, a slightly yellow haze leaving its mouth. The dust shape absorbs it all, and takes on the same yellow colour as its creator. Standing steadily, it looks directly at Aximili, who makes an eep sound and crouches slightly behind the invisible wall.

Wagging his tail, Aximili takes a huge breath and stomps at the ground violently. The tiles under his feet crack, and the earth suddenly shakes with more force than it should from just the little Wooper alone. The dust bird jumps in between the shockwave and Zapdos, dissolving into a cloud and racing under its creator. Aximili watches with some disbelief as it lifts Zapdos off of the ground, wearing away under the force of the earthquake. The tremors stop, and the dust dissolves, slowly lowering Zapdos to the ground.

Unaware of the commotion going on around it, Zapdos begins to murmur again and lifts its beak to the sky, making a high keening noise. A shred of cloud drifts over the sun, and is joined by another as the battlefield darkens slightly. Aximili looks up at the cloud cover, and moves closer to his invisible wall as a rumble sounds in the distance. There's a sudden flash, and a bolt of electricity flies down from the sky and strikes Aximili; the Wooper flying a few paces back with the force of the blow. He lands on top of his tail, but it becomes clear that the only thing that's been injured is his dignity. He gives Zapdos a look, and grins. Well, that was fortunate!

Aximili jumps back onto his feet and steps back to directly behind the invisible energy wall. Sucking in his breath, he liquefies the mental bricks he's created and absorbs them back into himself with his breath. Holding it for a moment, Aximili violently exhales, the energy leaving his mouth in the shape of a spit ball. He's knocked back by the force of the blow, and Zapdos tumbles head over talons on the impact. Aximili lands on his tail once more and blinks, and Zapdos comes to rest on its side, clearly not getting up.

Aximili whoops and hops up and down, grinning widely as the tiles and sky disappear around him. The image of Zapdos remains in the newly revealed room, starting to glitch, panels flipping over and the industrial strength lights overhead going out. The door to the simulator room opens, and Aximili rushes out to meet his Trainer. Congratulations are exchanged, and in the simulator room Zapdos fizzles into static. A rather embarrassed looking girl leaves the controller room and offers her congratulations to the head referee before shooing them out into the main room, saying something about experience gained, extensive repairs to the ground and a need for goddamn cement floors.

Notes
-The room has reverted to its basic state.
-Sleep Talk resulted in Drill Peck, Substitute and Thunder.

Congratulations, Negrek~ Onix gains 1 experience, and Aximili gains 2 experience. Good battle, and great strategy at the end.

...and he is in fact my terrifying death-wooper.

Good battle, blazheirio889! You kept me on my toes the whole time. Now we've just got to see how our tournament battle turns out, right?

Good game! I really didn't expect to win, anyway, what with Zapdos's terribly limited movepool (for a legendary!), especially against two ground types :P

That tourney battle's looking to be really close! Speaking of which, are we still waiting on Chiropter, or are we going to get an e-ref...?
