Default Some poems by me

Well... I sometimes make strange poems in my mind, and I have decided to put some of them here.
Some poems are in first person, but they are not about me. Also, if some lines are repeated often, it's most likely intended. I will probably put some kind of explanation before every poem.

It seems that when I played Generation II games, I was quite interested in getting shinies. However, sometimes it would have required breaking the rules I follow in Pokémon games. The red Gyarados seemed the most worthy of it.
There are some inaccurate formulations, but you will surely understand.
Quote:
Shiny encounters

I challenged the famous Red Jinde
in the famous Red Jinde lake.
I confused it and then used False Swipe
It turned out to be a mistake.

I encountered a shiny Growlithe
when I had some plants to get past.
It used Roar right in the beginning,
I should have known those guys were fast.

I encountered a shiny Murkrow
It was the one I hoped to see.
My current team was meant for Janine,
so the bird defeated me.

I encountered a small brown Magne,
and knew they were normally gray,
but on my first place was a Shuckle,
so the Steel-type ran away.

I encountered a shiny Zubat
I hadn't caught one in my life.
I beat it with one hit of Absorb,
maybe because it was level five.

I encountered a shiny Graveler,
not too strong or likely to run.
I sent out a Grass-type and beat it
because I already had one.
The following poem is Star Trek-themed. And it's not about a particular character. It's about the meaning some admirals have in Star Trek (the ones that don't cause the main problem of their episode, of course). And also about the meaning of Excelsior-class ships.
Quote:
The Admiral

He appeared in one episode
with an uninteresting English name
And he seemed to be very old -
As old as the ship in which he came.

He wasn't a terrible sight,
it was just age taking its claim.
His hair was gray, but close to white -
As gray as the ship in which he came.

He would have to get killed to die
The hair still had a nice face to frame.
You cast no shadow if you're too high -
He's in space with the ship in which he came.

But in the times we haven't seen,
he might have had some off-screen fame.
If he had a ship, it might have been
the same class as the ship in which he came.
There will be some more.

This one is very short, and I couldn't even come up with a name.
Quote:
You always want to be with me
(First, it was unexpected),
And I can clearly remember
how you said we're connected.

There is something I'd like to ask,
something you never mention:
You do not seem to need my help,
so what is your intention?

And yet another one, this time about the end of the world. I don't think it's coming closer, but I think that first everything will dry out and the rocks will get exposed, and then the whole planet will turn into a lava world. I am bad at making names, so this poem has no name again.
Quote:
I feel that I am going down -
From pink to gray, from gray to brown.
The entire world will end like that:
From green to gray, from gray to red.

I see great snow clouds stop their flight -
From blue to gray, from gray to white.
But even this place will be dead:
From white to gray, from gray to red.

But the world began like this too -
From red to gray, from gray to blue.
So it is certainly not bad:
From red to gray, from gray to red.

Default Re: Some poems by me

This poem is about two Pokémon from Hoenn and Unova being in love and talking to their parents about it. They are not exactly counterparts, more like the counterparts of each other's counterpart because one is a Poison-type and one isn't.

EDIT: I've updated it a bit to make stuff even more obvious. To explain the "Lilligant flowers": I've sometimes said that there were "Vileplume flowers" serving as some wall tiles in a jungle area in a Digimon game. There are probably normal roses in the Pokémon world, and Unova's Rafflesia Pokémon is Lilligant.

Quote:
"I've found myself a girlfriend
She's courageous and strong.
We're really close together
and that's where we belong."

"I hope she's not a Swellow,
so fast with a sharp beak.
We fear them and avoid them
because we're small and weak."

"No, mom, she's not a Swellow.
Soon you'll know it as well.
Her armor is so solid,
you can see it's a shell.

She's got defensive power
and doesn't fear the sky.
A Dustox can't protect me,
though I'm a Beautifly."

"I've found myself a boyfriend
He's romantic and fast.
We have a relationship
and I want it to last."

"I hope he's not a Tranquill,
so fragile, soft and grey.
We're only compatible
as predators and prey."

"No, dad, he's not a Tranquill.
He has got four black wings.
He's interested in flowers
and other pretty things.

Among Lilligant flowers,
a rose is what I need.
Those Leavanny just hate me,
cause I'm a Scolipede."

You know about Mewthree, right? And those fourth stages of the Kanto Starters, too. Some people might have used to believe that those were official. I think I've read something about Lucario was believed to be Mewthree somewhere.
The poem is inspired by this, and by Mewthree. I know it's not true, and the end doesn't corespond with the story on Deviant Art, but if it really was as popular as Mewthree, there would probably be more versions.

Quote:
The story of Aquatro

When Pokémon Yellow started to spread,
Blue was in a trio with Yellow and Red.
There was Articuno, the one who could freeze
and defeat other birds with the greatest of ease.

The second was Zapdos and Moltres the third,
but there were still rumors of another bird,
who would have some power over the three,
because they ruled islands and he would rule the sea.

Aquatro meant water and "the fourth one" as well.
He would have a high Special stat, but weak claws and no shell.
But Special is not the main stat that birds need,
so, like every Flying-type, he should have high Speed.

With Gold and Silver, a new sensation came.
And there was that new bird, at first without a name.
It resembled a fish and was partly blue...
Sounds like the Water type! Could this be true?

They found out its real name, and their eyebrows fell down.
And come onn, it's Psychic! They should have made it brown!
But the second movie changed this emotion,
because there are three islands, and Lugia guards the ocean.

But it's still a Psychic bird guarding the sea!
Pokémon aren't what they used to be.
That Ho-oh's colors don't resemble fire.
Moltres didn't have green parts, yet was one to admire!

As there were more Pokémon they got to find,
this rebellion slowly disappeared from their mind,
and they began to think that it just hits the spot
that Lugia's official and Aquatro is not.

But when Fakemon took over Deviant Art
and even on Youtube they played a great part,
many users decided to commemorate
the silly ideas they had used to find great.

But Mewthree and Gigasaur aren't gods anymore.
Instead, they are common, but who could ask for more?
It is a change from which no one can run.
Not even Aquatro - Lugia's lost son.

Default Re: Some poems by me

You can surely recognize that there are two sides in this poem. It's based on a story I wrote for school. Not the story itself, but the background and the characters. It took place in the USA in Spring 2010, and while the main character was desperately trying not to think about anything associated with volcanoes, his daughter had become fascinated with heat from below. The story doesn't mention what is going on in her mind, but her favorite Stargate Atlantis episode has a volcano in it. So the two sides of this poem might be those two, or at least they have similar opinions. And in my stories and poems, I tend to make the side I prefer to identify with the same gender as me, so now you know who I am sympathizing with.
It also mentions Pokémon, but it doesn't have to take place in the Pokémon world. Even the Entei part can be an analogy.
EMJ is an abbreviation of Electabuzz, Magmar and Jynx.
As I said before, minor inaccuracies are for the sake of rhyme.

Quote:
"The sky is red and pink like a Rafflesia
Red like the mighty wings of Salamence,
pink like a Slowpoke that's using Amnesia
to match a Tentacruel's Special Defence."

"The sky is red and pink like Vileplume's flower,
but it is actually covered with ash.
Entei's got angry and shown of his power
on a large island where fire and ice clash."

"There is something I know about the Beast trio,
the one you mentioned I don't dare to name.
They're more legendary than Lucario,
as close as EMJ and yet the same."

"For EMJ, there's lots of common places,
abandoned power plants are among those.
You just don't want to see their happy faces,
Smoochum and Elekid kan still be close!"

"Some people are strange, I'm not sure if they know,
but there is something that I have to say:
Don't build a power plant on a volcano,
cause down below it's red instead of gray."

"Red is like Garfield and gray is like Nermal,
sometimes the rival just isn't the one.
Sometimes the power plant is geothermal,
sometimes the Earth warms it more than the Sun."
EDIT: One more thing: The sky has strange colors because the sun is setting.

This one is obviously Pokémon-themed. The Team Magma headquarters are in the place where they are in Emerald. I don't know what else to say.
Quote:
I am not with Team Magma,
I am not on their side.
Don't mention the three-peaked M
and I'll be satisfied.

I'm scared of Magcargo
and Numel, I must say.
Groudon gives me the greatest creeps
in his big and ugly way.

If I see a Growlithe, I want
to hear a Jenny's voice,
but for me, Lotad or Snorunt
would be just the perfect choice.

I live on Dewford Island,
and I love that stable place...
What, G detection negative?
Then we return to the base!

You can clearly notice that the following poem is about unrequited love, which means I am probably turning stereotypical. It's also easy to recognize that it's from the girl's point of view. That's because I am a girl, but I don't remember experiencing this kind of relationship, so it might be strange.
It has a lot of references in it.

Quote:
I understand red light from below
The heat that causes things to glow
The power that's beneath the land
I understand.

But when you say I am who you love,
beautiful as the stars above,
and that my eyes are blazing green,
what do you mean?

I've seen aliens with blue skin
Spaceships landing on Tatooine
Gray uniforms and fields of sand
I understand.

But when you say that I am like Troi,
or Nurse Ogawa or Nurse Joy,
or possibly the Naboo Queen,
what do you mean?

A certain film made me run away
and consider brown worse than gray.
When a monster dies without a hand,
I understand.

But when you say you're like Harry Kim,
and as much Beowulf as him,
that you're onto who I can lean,
what do you mean?

I know that it doesn't make sense, but imagine there is a place in the Pokémon world that is so peaceful and safe that the Pokémon that is the most feared by the ones that live there is a weak Bug/Poison-type. It might not be dangerous to evolved Psychic Pokémon, but maybe to the unevolved ones.

Quote:
I'm not a Skorupi, you should see,
there's no need to be afraid of me.

I am not a Bug-type at all,
so please put down your forcefield wall.

I have a meeting with your son,
and it is an important one.

Dear Mrs. Mime, we're not at war,
I'm not a Skorupi anymore.

This one was originally supposed to only have eight lines and be about my feelings about the Cave of Dragonflies site and my admiration for the admin. Some time after I registered here, I made it twice as long to make it incorporate a strange analogy saying that I don't like registering very much but made an exception here, a reference to one of the strange things that happened during the Cinnabar storyline in the anime and some random nonsense.

Quote:
Where the strongest dragons live
alongside Caterpie,
there is a cute little place
and it seems good to me.
It can be white, dark blue or green,
the one you like to see
where the strongest dragons live
alongside Caterpie.

Where some special reptiles live
alongside Metapod,
everyone's nice to each other,
they drink tea and eat cod.
Everyone knows the real effect
of Rhydon's Lightningrod
where some special reptiles live
alongside Metapod.

Where a plush Dialga lives
alongside Butterfree,
I have a feeling that this cave
is quite close to the sea.
Hoenn and Sinnoh got combined
and got a central tree
where a plush Dialga lives
alongside Butterfree.

Where the smallest dragons live
alongside Dragonfree,
a glacier attracted a snowflake
that wanted to die free.
Next to a mighty Flying-type
is where I'd like to be
where the smallest dragons live
alongside Dragonfree.

This poem is mostly about not being sure which Homestuck troll to sympathize with. The thing in the end is a way of saying that I can't get him out of my mind, in case you don't understand.

EDIT: Just a minor change to make more sense.
EDIT: Alright, some of the poems are about me.

Quote:
The Two sides

There are two sides with which I'd like to relate,
and it isn't Case Invert and Number Eight.
I think of one when I look at my birth date,
but that just made being on two sides my fate.

The other one seems like a good guy to me,
and good with computers is what he might be.
There are two sides, don't say: "At least it's not three,"
they also relate to the land and the sea.

The land and the sea relate to red and blue,
there's the Hoenn Duo and Porygon2.
I should think of purple and that's what I do,
the mix of red and blue relates to Mewtwo.

Number two's his favorite one, as I know,
red and blue's not the sea and heat from below.
Each of his eyes different, they do more than glow,
he's great, but the other one does not think so.

If Spock dies, does McCoy just say: "He's dead, Jim,"
though the death's as important as it might seem?
I cannot push that guy to the Outer Rim,
cause being on two sides makes me more like him.

Well, another Homestuck-based one. This time not so personal, just about something I have realized.

Quote:
The Thirteenth of April. Four, one and three.
Those are the numbers that you often see.
But some connections don't resemble that date -
when put together, those numbers make eight.

Vriska might be important because of that,
and there's also Snowman with an eight ball hat.
Vriska's mind control powers are really strong,
but being John's patron troll is sort of wrong.

Sure, it links her with the date when it began,
but I still think the author is a strange man.
I don't favor Ara because she loves Sol.
The whole zodiac thing makes her the right troll.

The following is actually a song, which is why it's organized in a strange way. It's my lyrics for the Ice Cave music. I know it relates to a completely differrent place. The fact that I found the place without even knowing it is true, but the rest is a bit exaggerated. Especially the emotional stuff.

Quote:
Turnback Cave

I found this area
before I awakened Cresselia.
There was a lake as blue
as an Altaria,
then I looked it up
on Bulbapedia,

and the info I collected
seemed a little unexpected,
cause from the text I detected
with whom the place was connected.

So now I'm walking through Turnback cave.
After each battle, I have to save.
The Haunter are scary and Golbat are just strong,
but I meet no Graveler, which is just plain wrong.
There are too many Poison-types in there,
causing much coldness in my hair.

I think I messed up my training,
all my HP they are draining,
they are all like "feel my power,"
it's worse than Rayquaza's tower.
They resist ground and they'r purple,
perfect against World Tree Turtle,
but there's something I should mention,
I came here with an intention,
determined to reach my goal:

Giratina,
I'm going after you.
Giratina,
I don't know what to do,
Giratina...
please...
Show yourself...

Now for more Star Trek and more lyrics. It's obviously on the DS9 opening music. The "bad timeline" means the mirror universe.

Quote:
Deep Space Nine

The station known
as
Terok Nor
has always been
orbiting Bajor,
but in this part of
the
good timeline
it isn't Terok Nor,
it's Deep Space Nine.

Now it's on a
slightly different place,
but still close to
Cardassian space,
it's Terok Nor
in the bad timeline,
in our it's Deep Space Nine.

Most of this poem is just an approximation, but that is given by what it is about. In case you don't know one of the names mentioned, one is a famous horror writer and one is a Homestuck character who is interested in the Homestuck variation of tentacle monsters from another dimension.

Quote:
In a more complex region, in a more complex place,
a more complex dimension of more complex space,
there are two beings that are very close,
unknown to Lovecraft and unknown to Rose.

In their multiple eyes of hues you'll never know
love can be seen like an unearthly glow.
Love you can't imagine between ones you can't meet,
but they're just a Young Couple, not the Elite.

Unknown to Lovecraft and unknown to Rose,
it doesn't matter, as long as you're close.
