Boring Field was not named for it's horribly mundane appearance, but for it's discoverer Frederick Boring. Nonetheless, it's still a very, very boring field. It's nearly perfectly flat, with a nicely trimmed layer of lush green grass. The dirt underneath is sturdy yet soft, with the occasional rock or boulder beneath the ground. The sun always shines above with a few fluffy clouds, making the field a nice temperate location. The battlefield is position near two small ponds, large enough to hold most aquatic Pokemon, albeit without much elbow room for some of the larger ones. The ponds are symmetrically positioned on either side of the battlefield, which is rectangular in shape. Yes there is literally nothing interesting about this field. Which is exactly why it's the perfect place for a battle.

ugh, but why

Well, fine then. If you're going to choose an annoyer, then the gloves come off. No mercy. And know that you've only brought this upon yourself.

Bringer of despair, summoner of darkness, destroyer of cities, slayer of dragons, show me your power! Demonstrate your wrath! I call upon you - Draco Meteor!

but wow you're sort of slow

Okay, but we can fix that! Liberal application of magic coat shall be our answer to, well, everything. Basically, if he tries anything that can be reflected by magic coat (1), use it. This is sort of the primary thing you're doing for this, and yes, you can probably expect it to last the entirety of your existence here, so get comfortable with that list.

otherwise

uh.

Okay, if he puts up a light screen, use secret power; if he has double team clones, use a sweeping secret power to reveal the right one. If he puts up reflect, barrier, has both screens up, or by default, shadow ball.

Shadow Ball / Secret Power / Magic Coat ~ Shadow Ball / Secret Power / Magic Coat ~ Shadow Ball / Secret Power / Magic Coat

why do I have footnotes

1. If I have to specify, fine! Encore, confuse ray, hypnosis, teeter dance, swagger, taunt, torment, thunder wave, toxic (wow.), and any stat-lowering move. Actually, I don't care about stat-lowering moves, but for the sake of simplicity, it goes here.

Uh, I mean follow me into battle! Yeah, that's it.

Start off with a Fake Out.

Then put up a Light Screen; the Secret Power should be the short-grass one, so we'll prepare for that.

If Secret Power poisons you, use Facade. Otherwise, use a Psychic.

Upon being dropped in this most boring of fields, Draco Meteor has only a few seconds to gather his thoughts before Hadrian kicks off, dashes forwards and smacks head-first into the other baby pokemon. Draco yelps in shock and tumbles backwards, steadying himself quickly but too stunned to make any sort of reaction. He stares wide-eyed at Hadrian, who rubs his head and grins proudly - hah! That's how you make an entrance.

While Draco is still collecting his thoughts, Hadrian concentrates, waving an arm before him lazily. A shiny barrier flickers into existence, barely visible but quite solid and ready to shield Hadrian from any incoming attacks - or well, half of them. And not the sort that's about to come.

Now well enough to focus, Draco Meteor squints his eyes and gathers forth a strange energy, focusing it into a thin beam - which rushes forwards, sliding easily through Hadrian's light screen and smacking into him quite harshly. It seems to him like a solid object, pushing him backwards, rather than actual energy, and though it's short-lasting - Draco doesn't have quite enough energy to keep it up for long - it leaves a tiny bruise where it hit. Hadrian frowns, rubbing at the bruised area, clearly unhappy that his shield was so useless to protect him.

It doesn't hurt that bad though. Really, he'll show that silly cleffa what it means to do damage. His eyes thin into slits, a purple aura spreading around them; a similar aura flares up around Draco, and his head suddenly hurts beyond all reason. He whimpers, clinging to his temple and wishing it would end, and it soon does - thankfully. Like Draco, Hadrian couldn't keep the attack up for long, and Draco is quite thankful for that. He keeps rubbing his temples, the remains of the headache just leaving.

Draco Meteor shakes himself, refocusing on the battle. He taps into that energy source he'd used before, and another bright beam charges forth before it, rushing towards Hadrian. As before, the light screen does nothing to stop it, and it slams against the little mime quite hard. Somehow, the mystical energies in the attack leave Hadrian more winded than before; so winded that the mime jr just blinks and tumbles to the ground, sound asleep. Draco blinks as well, a bit shocked, but then claps to himself - what a good job he did! He really is quite impressive, isn't he? And the battle can only get better~

Alright, so let's start with a nightmare, even if the damage isn't terribly significant. If he's asleep for the normal period and you don't attack him to wake him up, at least, and I don't think he can normally wake up this round.

Then we'll make things just a little easier for yourself - thunder wave. That should... just about equalise your speeds, actually, which is more of a sad comment on your speed than his, but okay.

Third... telekinesis.

If you can't perform an action because snore flinched you, move it to the next; don't bother with a third action nightmare, though.

Hadrian tumbles around in the grass, for all appearances comfortably asleep, but still snoring up a storm. Draco covers his ears, frowning; that's a really terribly unpleasant sound. Really. He feels bad for whoever has to sleep with that dreadful mime. Uhg. Well, he'll show him! Draco totters over to the mime jr, placing a tiny stubby hand on Hadrian's forehead. He concentrates on all his dark, devious thoughts, and they flow through his arm into Hadrian's dreams; within an instant, Hadrian's peaceful sleep turns torturous. He shifts away from Draco's hand, twitching and shuffling in his sleep; his pain is dreadfully obvious simply from the fact that he's begun to sweat. Draco pulls his hand away, slightly disgusted, but pleased.

It isn't long before Hadrian lets out another loud snore, this one obviously more pained than the last; Draco frowns again and covers his ears in a pointless attempt to block the noise, but it's a short-lived sound, and he quickly pulls his hands away, recovered. If only Hadrian's pains were so short-lived; and there's more to come. Draco Meteor takes a step away from his target, not wanting to remain so close in proximity, just for safety's sake; and then he draws up some thin, delicate sparks between his dainty hands, tossing them towards his sleeping foe. The electricity seeps into Hadrian's sleeping body, turning his fits of pain into twitchy spasms. He groans in his sleep, either from the painful nightmares or his achy muscles, Draco can't tell. Either one is good for him.

Hadrian's newfound paralysis doesn't stop his snores, however; he lets out a loud one, just as annoying as the last, and Draco doesn't bother covering his ears, more annoyed than anything. God, sleep is useful, but it sure is a pain when the sleeper won't shut up. Draco Meteor waves a lazy hand before him, and Hadrian drifts into the air, surrounded by a thin, purplish bubble; he floats just a few inches off the ground, and doesn't even seem to notice, what with his sleeping and all. He continues to twitch in pain, but at least he isn't snoring. Draco sighs, hoping that now that he's floating, he'll be less annoying... somehow. Stupid mime.

Safeguard, unless he wakes up and uses snatch, in which case secret power. Magic coat anything that can be magic coated, as before.

Follow up with secret power from a distance, unless you have yet to do safeguard, in which case safeguard, or in the case of needing to magic coat, as stated.

Safeguard if he uses protect, to conserve energy.

Draco takes his time while his opponent is still asleep, because he sense it won't be much longer now. He waves a tiny paw in front of him, and even tinier sparkles shimmer protectively under the paw. They spread around the cleffa, glimmering when the light hits him, protecting him from any harm - or at least, certain types of harm. The harmful kinds.

Not the sort Hadrian has planned though. Well, not planned so much as accidentally contrived. The floating mime snores loudly again, shifting heavily in his discontented sleep. Draco frowns in annoyance; he was sure the mime would be awake by now. Stupid snores. Bleh.

Oh well, easier target for him. He draws upon the same energy that sent Hadrian to sleep, releasing it in a thin beam; it strikes the floating mime as if drawn to him magnetically, rippling against the shimmering barrier and finally, with its little force, waking the mime up. Hadrian yelps at the pain and then again at the fact that he's floating in the air what the fuck!! He wiggles around and tries to figure out what's going on, but all his wiggling gets him no where. He groans, realizing he's paralyzed too, and his light screen's gone - great. It takes him another moment to remember his orders, but he figures he might as well, there's nothing else to do.

He squints his eyes and squiggles into the cleffa's mind, striking down on the little thing. Draco Meteor screams out in sudden pain, and from his own head - the worst sort. He curls up, wishing his safeguard could protect him from this; it's utterly terrible, like his scalp is actually splitting open. Thank god it's short-lived; he shakes his sore head, blinking his watery eyes at the finally-awoken mime. Uhg.

Maybe his attack will be strong enough now, stronger than before for some reason, to enact suitable revenge. Unlikely, but... he really wants to hurt the stupid mime. Why couldn't it have stayed asleep...? Draco draws upon his inner energy and releases another beam, and his wish comes true - it hits Hadrian right between the eyes, twirling him over in the telekinesis' hold; he squeals in pain and his eyes water up in complete agony, though like his own psychic attack, it's very short-lived. He quickly blinks the water out of his eyes and glares daggers at that damn cleffa. He'll pay, that's for sure, even if it isn't Hadrian that enacts the revenge.

At least for now, Hadrian gets to see Draco suffer. He grins as he crawls back into Draco's mind, probing and prodding, each poke make Draco whimper in pain. And each whimper only widen's Hadrian's grins; good. Let him suffer. He quickly loses hold of the cleffa's mind, but he's more than satisfied; poor Draaco is nearly crying from pain. He dabs at his eyes, wiping away the tears, in a vain attempt to keep his pride intact.

And quite suddenly, Hadrian's telekinesis bubble seemed to pop, and the mime flopped down to the ground. He landed easily on his feet, quite a bit startled, only having realized he was floating a few moments ago - but definitely glad to be back on solid ground.

I'm officiall annoyed at this point, so let's semi-borrow Kusari's Safeguard strategy. If that Cleffa does anything to inflict a status problem on you, use Safeguard.

Otherwise, let's go with a Trick Room since we're slower now. Once you've done that, use Facade. If your health falls below 30% and you still have an action left, use Drain Punch. If for some reason any of those attacks won't work, use Psychic some more.

Trick room, hm? We're actually at the same speed, so it is no concern of ours. But it does have a secondary effect that I think you'll regret.

Let's take advantage of that ability of yours and strike him with all the power of a draco meteor, shall we? You should only need two double-edges to make him reach the damage cap, leaving us with a free action to do what we will.

... and I think minimising damage taken will do nicely. A 15% substitute should barely hold against two facades if he doesn't crit, and limit how much he can heal from a drain punch. Do that first, while he's wasting time on that trick room, followed by your attacks.

Perhaps just a bit disappointed to be creating more protective shields, Draco plucks some grass up by the roots, sticking it all together into a tiny little ball with dirt as the adhesive. Just to make sure it sticks, he spits on it, lobbing a big juicy slimeball onto the grass ball. Somehow his juice gets the grass moving - literally - in that it stands upright, using tiny little grassblade-feet, and somehow manages to see where it's going. It even looks somewhat like a cleffa, at a stretch - only somewhat though. Mostly it looks like a walking muddy grassball. It's good enough for Draco, though, since it'll protect him from most harm.

Hadrian's eyes the substitute, and then his eyes flicker; a warping light flows from him and shrouds the entire field, distorting everything within seconds - or what used to be seconds. Because everything seems to have changed. Time is going backwards, or maybe it isn't? It's hard to tell; events aren't recurring so much as fading; what's supposed to happen first is happening last, as is shown by the grass and the bush-leaves blowing backwards in the wind, and boulders occasionally blowing by backwards as well. Hadrian gives a satisfied nod, while Draco meteor stares at everything in wide-eyed shock. What the hell just... what.

Hadrian shivers with the sudden speed and motivation to move before his opponent again, but his muscles freeze up on him, as if spiting his new trick. The mime glares at Draco - his only way of showing his hatred. Draco blinks, but he's rather unintimidated by the tiny psychic, try as Hadrian might.

In fact, Draco's finally ready to attack. He grins wide, revealing pearly-white teeth, and the white spreads across his tiny little body, bright as the sun. He runs with all his might towards Hadrian, slams with all his might into him, knocking Hadrian back by several feet. The force tosses Draco back as well, but he's completely unharmed - the magical tendencies of the cleffa species means he lands just right, bouncing back up ready for more. Hadrian isn't so lucky; he's landed splattered on his back, heavily bruised from just one hit, wishing it was just more secret powers. He takes a moment to get to his feet, glad at leas that the paralysis has eased up - silver linings. Neither pokemon takes much notice as Draco's safeguard peters away, having been completely unused.

For the moment, Hadrian has to forget his bravado. He has to focus on his pain. And, oh, can he do that. He closes his eyes, whimpering a bit both at his brand new bruise and that gorram paralysis - and when he opens his eyes they're filled with rage. He runs at Draco, for the moment unhindered by twitchy muscles, and unleashes all his anger and tiredness on the cleffa - or rather, the cleffa's substitute, who jumps in to take the attack last-minute. Hadrian's beating is short lived by filled with enough rage to leave the substitute battered and torn, barely hanging on; it limps back towards Draco, who'd dashed away from the rampaging mime. Hadrian sighs, in too much pain to care that he didn't even take out the sub.

He does care that Draco's still there, and coming for him again. The cleffa glows bright, grinning again, and runs towards Hadrian, slamming straight into the mime. Hadrian tumbles away with a pitiful whine, barely remaining upright from the pain, whereas Draco toddles away to hide behind his substitute completely unpained. Hadrian's breathing hard, bruised all over and ready to simply call it a day - and Draco is more than willing to assist.

Rest until it works. Snore for the rest of the time. If for some reason, you absolute will not be able to Rest, or you wake up early, use Psychic.

Rest? Dear me, Mr Aethelstan, dear me.

Double-edge to start; you're at equal speeds, so there's a 50% chance you'll faint him. However, if he's already used rest, instead we'll take a leaf from res's book.

If he's used rest before you can double-edge, use dream eater - but target energy instead of health. Then, since he's so eager to lengthen this battle, softboiled to regain your own health. Finally, finish off with another energy-draining dream eater; it shouldn't be necessary, but with snore's flinch chance and the possibility that my calculations are off by a few points, let's not risk our victory.

If for some reason you used double-edge instead of dream eater on the first action but he's gone and managed a rest to heal himself anyway, replace softboiled with another dream eater. Either way, if he doesn't fall to double-edge, you're in for a tasty snack.

Double-edge / Dream Eater (energy) ~ Softboiled / Dream Eater (energy) ~ Dream Eater (energy)

Boring Field

Draco twitches, unable to contain himself, and gathers all his energy before Hadrian can blink an eye. Its seems the flow of time has turned in his favour for now, because while Hadrian's muscles aren't permanently frozen, he's definitely not able to outspeed - or move slower? - than Draco. As such, the cleffa's body glows bright-white and he runs with all his might towards Hadrian, slamming into him with the impact of a tiny, widdle adorable car. A strong enough car to toss Hadrian back several inches, and Draco as well, but as before he lands perfectly on his feet, whereas Hadrian - poor poor Hadrian - slams face-first into the dirt, skidding backwards to a halt. The mime twitches for a second, perhaps some electricity still left in his muscles, before he goes completely limp, unconscious.

Draco jumps into the air, gleeful like no one's business, while Hadrian is returned to his pokeball. He'll soon be replaced, of course, but Draco is more than pleased with his achievements so far! Yayayay~
