Still, it's a nice enough place to fight - the entire roof is flat and just rough enough to avoid slipping, and there are few if any distractions. The rooftop itself is quite sturdy, so it won't collapse even under the force of a meteor or ten.

A hastily-built but sturdy fence prevents casual fatal falls and surrounds the entire rooftop, though it appears it was erected within the last several hours.

Alright, Patty, Euclid, hit the scene! Haha, first doubles battle. Hope this goes well.

Patty, you start by targeting Wheatley. Start with Flame Charge. If it tries to Protect against it, then speed yourself up with Agility. Either way, follow that up with Flamethrower twice.

Euclid, you're gonna start by softening up that little pink fuzzball. Thunder Wave it, and if he Protects that, Work Up yourself. If you got to paralyze him before, then start to go on the offensive with Dark Pulse. If you used Work Up before, try paralyzing him now with Thunder Wave. Either way, use Dark Pulse again.

The pokemon take a moment to take in their surroundings, most notably the strange, distant hum of a song - Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around since I was born - too distant to hear clearly except for a few words. Draco bounces to the sound, apparently hearing it better than everyone else, and sings along even. Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother, you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive! Wheatley tilts a bewildered eye at its teammate, hoping the music won't have any strange effects on him.

Patricia clicks her beak, not caring for the singing, and wraps herself in a flurry of fire before kicking off the hard brick roof, slamming into Wheatley's metal exterior. The flames lash against the metang, burning its otherwise impervious shell, and it twists around to face its attacker head-on, clearly displeased. Patricia bounces from claw to claw, heated up from her fiery attack. Wheatley doesn't hesitate any longer; its eyes glow green, and a shimmering light ripples around itself and Draco, protecting them both from any incoming harm. Draco halts his singing for a second, checking out his new glow - cool.

Euclid tilts his fluffy head at Draco's noise, homing in on his target. Sparking electricity flows from his dark fur and thins out in a wave towards Draco; the cleffa doesn't stop for a second, unworried as the thunder wave's sparks die out on the green protective lights surrounding him. Euclid can't see it, but he senses somehow that his attack failed - damn.

Draco grins, singing louder;

Well, now I get low and I get high
And if I can't get either, I really try
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes
I'm a dancin' man, and I just can't lose

and he drums his tummy with the beat. His grin widens; the drumming hurts, but the energy rushing through him dulls him to the pain, and he just doesn't care at this point. He stops drumming, the energy flowing through him so strong by now that he can't push it any further. Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive...

Wheatley twists to face its teammate, zoning in on the energy flowing through him. It takes only a few seconds to mimic his boosted powers, and just as quickly Wheatley feels invulnerable, able to tear down the building it's floating on with a single hit. Unfortunately, it has nothing to shield him from Patricia; the torchic inhales, then exhales a flood of scorching flames, toasting the poor metang. Wheatley vrrrp's in pain, blue-metal turning reddish and crispy under the assault. Patricia soon runs out of air and the flames stop, leaving her to face a glaring metang. She twitters in agitation, hoping Wheatley goes down before she gets to feel its wrath.

Eustace glances Draco's way, unsure of his attack options. The thunder wave surely failed, but it would fail again if he tried it. Likewise he didn't work up before... He groans and decides to dark pulse, if for no other reason than that it's something. A dark, rippling wave of energy flows from him, spreading outwards Draco's way - but it's just a few feet off, and ends up hitting the fence surrounding the roof instead. The fence shrivels, melting under the energy as if it were acidic. Euclid frowns, quite sure he missed his target.

Draco grins, bouncing through the air towards Patricia. A bright white glow spreads across him and he smashes into the torchic, knocking Patricia back onto her side; Draco likewise is twirled sideways through the air, but he manages to straighten himself, still grinning. Patricia meanwhile is groaning from the hit as she picks herself up - that'll leave a bruise.

Draco pauses his singing, turning his attention to Wheatley. He erupts into cheerful banter for his teammate - you go Wheatley, you show 'em! Wheatley's eyes flash with a hint of pride; yes, it can show them. It smashes its clawed arms into the roof; energy flows from it downwards and the roof erupts, shaking into life with enormous energy. Patricia is tossed upwards and sideways, simply unable to stay on her feet, and Euclid likewise, though the expression of sheer pain on the torchic's face; she catches herself momentarily only to be thrown aside once more, head banged on the ground, pieces of roof flailing into her. Euclid manages to straighten himself finally; when the roof quiets, Patricia is laying down, breathing heavily. She takes a moment before getting to her feet, completely bruised over and covered in dirt. She breathes in, calming herself, focusing; and then another burst of flames is sent Wheatley's way. Wheatley whirrs in pain, drifting lower to the roof, unable to stay upright under such an attack; when the fire fades the metang thankfully manages to float back to its normal position, glaring Patricia down.

Euclid focuses - he must hit his target now. More dark energy flows from his dark fur, stretching out towards Draco - and this time it hits. It smacks into him quite suddenly, shockingly, and the cleffa yelps, halting his song in utter bewilderment at the pain. He twists to stare at Euclid, made suddenly aware of the deino; damn, that hurt.

Draco Meteor, you're going to start off with a nice double-edge at Patricia; if you can't do that, aim for Euclid instead, or if you can't target either, light screen that first action and just go for the double-edge on Euclid otherwise. However, if Euclid tries to taunt you, magic coat it, unless you're meant to use helping hand that action and Patricia is not using protect/detect; if you are successfully taunted, just double-edge Euclid.

Once you get off a successful double-edge, start using helping hand, dropping light screen.

Wheatley waits only seconds to see what its main competitor will do - and upon seeing the torchic kick off into a run, the metang wastes no time following it. The two speed around the rooftop, racing to see which one can outspeed the other; Patricia kicks dust into Wheatley's face and gets ahead for a moment, only to be passed quite easily by the hovering pokemon. Wheatley whirrs and spins around swiftly, bringing the torchic to a skidding halt, and the metang twitches its claws in preparation for its snack. Patricia twitches uneasily - crap. She's still not fast enough.

Definitely not fast enough to dodge the incoming Draco Meteor. The cleffa burns bright like his namesake, tumbling down upon the bird and smacking her into the asphalt roof. Patricia caws in complete pain; the cleffa weighs tonnes more than he should, and she landed on her own talon, having it shoved into her chest most uncomfortably. She's bleeding on herself - double crap. She gets up somewhat limply, glancing at her teammate - dammit, he's hiding behind a shield. That's why the cleffa came after her. Dammit, dammit, she's not going to last long like this.

She takes a breath ands steadies herself. Spread her talons into the optimal position to take incoming attacks. Deep breath; inhale, exhale. Calm. She can do this. As long as Euclid doesn't keep hiding, she can do this. She notices Draco cheering out of the corner of her eye - not for her, surely? No, it's for Wheatley. The metang gets a rosy blush to its bluish sheen, perhaps fond of its teammate, and it turns on Patricia again. No...

Euclid's no where to be seen when the metang's solid arms smash into the roof, twisting to get extra life into its attack. Patricia balances herself, determined to live through this as the ground below her talons shakes to life - she doesn't flip into the air like last time, digging her claws into the cement and sticking tight, but she can't stop the chunks of roof from flinging into her body and her shaking knees from hitting each other, and no matter how much she holds on, when the roof is done its shaking she falls down, all but unconscious. Only a tiny blaze within her heart keeps her going; so tiny but so strong, so determined.

Euclid is glad his orders don't require movement: trying to get around on this cracked and tortured roof would be rather dangerous. He glances around; it would be risking falling through a crack and to his death, surely. Instead he focuses on Wheatley, picking up on the metang's increased speed and power, and takes both for himself.

Draco doesn't waste time; he continues his for cheers his teammate, quite impressed by the damage Wheatley managed already. Flushed with pride, Wheatley doesn't hesitate before slamming its clawed fists into the roof. The cracks stretch and split the roof into slices - not quite cut off from each other completely, but nearing so. The shaking and quaking shakes the building so much that one more attack would surely bring it down. It's easily enough to bring down poor Patricia.

The torchic moans as the flame within her proves to be too little to keep her awake; her eyes close and she falls over, unconscious. Quickly, a red beam flashes and returns the torchic to her pokeball, leaving Euclid to fight alone.

The roof is in very good shape it's time to jump off. A small part of the fence is burnt off. The roof is massively torn apart; cracks stretch across it so thick that one might fall through if they attempt to pass over them. Another earthquake might just tear the building apart.

• I wasn't originally gonna let the changed orders slide, but I lost my first reffing draft so, eh. first draft actually had a better outcome for Sunflower eh eh eh
• Double edge was a critical hit.

Draco Meteor, dragon slayer though you are, we can't let the opportunity to tear the building apart pass us by. What we can do, though, is mock the little dragon with its futility, followed by heralding the end of the battle with great cheer.

Wheatley's fist crusts itself in ice before the deino can mourn his lost companion; even faster, Wheatley slams its fist into Euclid's furry side, solid ice shattering on impact and the tiny deino flying across the roof. Euclid grabs hold of a still-solid part of roof, clinging to it with all his might so as not to fall off even as his entire body shivers in cold and pain and cries out to him to let go, let go, go to sleep. He whimpers pathetically; he really does want to join his teammate in a good rest.

But there's no time. Half-heartedly, he checks around for a safe way to reach the floating Draco Meteor; he manages to spot a probably not safe route over torn rubble, but certainly one that will reach his destination. He jumps to nearby roof - another jump, solid asphalt behind him tumbling down to the floor below, would have been him if he hadn't jumped - and another jump - and finally into the air, towards the cleffa, claws and teeth bared and -

- he smacks into something hard and bounces back onto the roof, hitting his back and staring up at the cleffa. Draco grins at him, beaming and safe: hah! But how? How did he... Euclid shakes his head; his mind is swimming inside his skull, as if he were drunk, still from the pain of the ice punch and the earthquakes. Exhausted.

A shimmering light flickers across the cleffa, perhaps something being pulled up to shield him or being let down, or maybe just lights dancing across the deino's shaky eyes; but then Draco continues to cheer on his teammate, and Eucline remembers what happens next. He scurries to his feet, runs to get a foothold on something, anything - grabs onto a piece of fence, but it's too late, the metang is slamming onto the roof - and everything falls apart.

Euclid remains conscious only for the start of it; the roof rising upwards all together, collapsing in on him, and something smacks him in the skull and his eyes dim and he's gone. A red light returns him to safety before the entire building shudders, the floors underneath buckling in all together and everything collapses down in a torrent of sand and asphalt. Wheatley and Draco Meteor manage to float above it all for a moment before the pull of gravity brings them down; they float down to observe the destruction, Wheatley passively and Draco with a monstrous grin across his face. Yes, this will do.
