Metallica Fanboy vs Kam

Hrm.

No point in wasting energy dropping him in the lava, and he can't use Earthquake... so we'll just kill him off with STAB, k?

Besides, he's confused. He can't do that much damage; a pair of super-effective STAB Flash Cannons with a boosted special attack should kill him off.

Use Flash Cannon unless you need to use Charge Beam instead due to Torment; Chill if he (successfully) protects. Easy commands are easy.

Flash Cannon/Charge Beam/Chill x3

Who needs Earthquake when you have 3+ Attack, Sunny Day boosted Fire Fang? If you manage to not hit yourself, smash Zero with that. See if you can maybe dodge the Flash Cannons as well, but prorize striking.

At the third action, try to fly out of its range. If you're alive that is.

Dexterous attempts to focus, ignoring the bright flashing lights spinning around him and setting his mind to the battle. He shoots a burst of flame in to his mouth, covering his teeth in it and turning his mouth into a raging furnace of sharp pointy death. Lunging forward, he clamps Zero's appendage in his maw and bites down hard. With a metallic groan of pain, Zero lifts his other appendage, which starts glowing with silver spheres of energy that converge into a huge glowing orb. It suddenly catapults at Dexterous, smashing into his head with tremendous force and dislodging Zero from his mouth. The fossil Pokémon screeches in pain, tumbling several feet away from the force of the energy blast and struggling to his talons.

But Dexterous hasn't had quite as much of a taste of Zero as he'd like. Once again he ignites his mouth with a breath of flames and dives towards his foe. Zero, too busy charging another beam to pay much attention to his opponent, doesn't have the time to dodge, and is tackled ruthlessly to the ground by Dexterous, who wastes no time in biting every square inch of Zero he can reach. Suddenly a tremendous zap! is heard, and the Aerodactyl is once again flung off his opponent, with a dazzling flash of yellow light. The Aerodactyl picks himself up as the miniature pseudo-sun hovering above them abruptly shrinks and burns out.

Zero picks itself up off the floor furiously, still crackling with electrical energy. Dexterous eyes his opponent warily, clearly having been worn down by Zero's assault; his rocky skin is littered with cracks, and his breathing has become laboured and ragged. Though not in much better shape himself, Zero is still confident he can wipe this pathetic old-timer out with ease. But not on my watch, Dexterous thinks as he fans his wings in the air and pushes off with his talons, taking flight and carrying himself straight up the spout of the volcano. Zero hurriedly prepares an attack but Dexterous is already far out of his reach. The Bronzong half-heartedly flings his Flash Cannon skyward, knowing it'll never reach its target; sure enough, it slams into the side of the volcano, exploding in a flash of light some way beneath. Dexterous gives a loud, obnoxious chuckle, taking care to ensure it can be heard in the volcano pit, but it soon tails off into wheezing.

Hm. At this rate, things look no short of lost. So let's go out with a bang -- at least you damaged it considerably, as opposed to the cherry tapping that it was given that one time when you were the one winning.

Lash out with a combination of Flying down and Fire Fang.

If he Protects on the first action, Curse up for extra Attack, then pull the combination off.

If full confusion stops you from performing the combo on the first action, try it out on the second, unless Zero found a way to stop it from being damaging (Substitute not counting), in which case, just Rock Smash around to see if you can get its Defense down. Likewise if anything bereft you of the conditions required to pull the combo off, or if you're still up for the fight after the combo.

Fly (Down) + Fire Fang/Curse/Rock Smash ~ Fly (Down) + Fire Fang/Rock Smash ~ Rock Smash

If he confusion-fails on the first action, start with a Rain Dance, followed by Trick, and finally Flash Cannon.

If not, Trick, Protect (or Flash Cannon if he confusionfails), and finally Flash Cannon.

Circling the spout of the volcano, Dexterous gazes down on his opponent and decides to squander his near-unhittability in exchange for a devastating aerial attack. Preparing the flames in his mouth, he flaps his wings faster, plummets toward the crater and- gets his vision blocked by another flash of light from the earlier Confuse Ray, panics, and smashes headlong into the wall with a loud CRUNCH. His body drops like a stone to the bottom of the volcano pit, makes another painful noise on impact, and lies completely still. Dumbfounded, Zero and all three trainers present just stare at the limp, unconscious Aerodactyl before Metallica Fanboy wordlessly recalls it.

I guess that makes Megatherium the team's official killing machine.

By now I'm screwed anyway. I'll just send Safetymouse out.

They're underestimating you, Safetymouse. Let's kick their expectations in the nads. With safety and stability.

First things first, since Zero is so patetically slow you're on the lead in what regards speed, I need you to wait for it to attack. Take that Psychic. See if you can mentally brace yourself or something so you can minimize the incurring damage. After you get hit, Disable Psychic. You're not using Protect, so, Zero should be held in absolute stupor at this point.

Follow it up with Rain Dance, and finish it off with Thunder.

Disable (Wait) ~ Rain Dance ~ Thunder

Having called back his mighty prehistoric beast, Metallica Fanboy decides the best course of action now would be to rely on a small rodent thing. He releases Safetymouse into the centre of the volcano pit, and she spends a few moments being overcome by the heat before noticing her opponent; a huge, floating lump of metal. Zero seems rather amused by his puny aggressor, but Safetymouse won't have herself taken so lightly as she gets ready to kick some arse. Or whatever bells have.

Psychic/Future Sight ~ Psychic/Future Sight ~ Psychic/Future Sight

Despite the fact that the nimble rodent is clearly faster than Zero, Safetymouse doesn't even attempt to attack; the Bronzong puts this down to either the heat or Safetymouse being too terrified of it to move, and decides if she won't attack, then it will. Lifting its appendages over its head, Zero's body becomes coated by a light blue aura, which also begins to envelop Safetymouse. Before she can register what's happening, her body is suddenly flung into the air; a strange force starts pummeling her into the walls and floor over and over as the Nidoran squeaks in agony with every impact. Eventually the force releases her, flinging her tiny, bruised body up into the air and letting it drop to the ground with a rather painful-sounding thud. As soon as Safetymouse recovers enough to stagger to her feet, she springs into action... or she would if she knew how to use Disable. Seems like something she might be able to use in the future, but...

Smiling deviously, Safetymouse uses her speed to its fullest and immediately launches another move, beginning to skip and shuffle around rythmically until a crash of thunder can be heard echoing down from the surface. Gradually, rainfall starts to descent into the volcano spout, slowly growing heavier until a veritable torrent of precipitation is pouring into the volcano. Granted it all evaporates the instant it hits the ground, but Safetymouse is certain she can still use it for some purpose. Zero, infuriated by its opponent's theft of its weather-based superpowers, decides to teach her a lesson, but Dexterous' criticism echoes in its mind, and his ego is still too bruised to dare using the same move twice in a row.

Again using her speed to its full advantage, Safetymouse decides it's time for some payback for the first action. She tilts her head up towards the gloomy, cloud-filled sky at the top of the volcano spout and gives a shrill, vicious cry to the heavens, and suddenly a streak of lightning rushes down the spout of the volcano and slams into Zero. With a flash of light and a massive explosion, Zero is flung back by the force of the blast and slammed into the wall behind it. Dazed, Zero gathers its wits and picks itself up from the ground, and with its qualms about using Psychic lifted, gives Safetymouse another psychokinetically-assisted trip into the wall.

Much as I'd love to have more damage on the mouse, Nidoran can learn Disable by breeding as early as Gen. II.

Also, I thought Torment wore off already?

Oh. I just noticed Bulbapedia doesn't list every generation's moveset separately any more. How inconvenient >:c

Correcting the figures and stuff but too lazy to change the reffing. And Torment doesn't wear off, except by switching out the affected Pokémon.

A&A says otherwise.

The user taunts and jeers at the opponent the opponent, lowering its self-esteem and making it too dejected to take the same action twice in a row. This effect fades with time unless torment is renewed.

Uh, fuck.

...tell you what, we don't need a new reffing that much-- just have Zero use Psychic ~ Future Sight ~ Future Sight in the end and ignore the description.

See Meowth this is why you check that damn guide

Just so this entire battle doesn't have to be redone let's just say it wore off this round. I'll be a better ref in future, honest. D:

(also Zero can't have used Future Sight, since you specified it should use it only if Safetymouse protects.)

Very well.

Assuming I'm not reading shit wrong, at this point, a second Thunder will drop Zero. Last round, they didn't change the fact that you're faster, or that it's raining. At this point, there are only two ways they would ever get priority over your attacks, and that's by either Protecting, or Enduring. We'll be preparing for both probabilities, obviously.

Chill for any time Protect is used. Even if that means you'll be Chilling all round long; this would actually be advantageous, seeing as there would be absolutely no escape for them next round. Of course, once its guard is down, zap it good.

On the occasion of Endure, Thunder away anyway. But, if Zero is at the very last point of its health and not Protecting at any point, Pursuit it to its surefire doom.
