Pre-Round Notes
These two trainers are always looking for new and wierder places to battle, aren't they? First a boat, then an MS paint document, and now this. Are they trying to kill themselves? Oh, whatever. Now they're in Antarctica, and the referee is looking like she's regretting agreeing to do this battle; even though she's more comfortable in moderate cold, this is Antarctica. Even despite all the protective clothing, her fingers are slowly numbing; she'd send out the League Charizard in her pack but she's pretty sure it would have its tail flame extinguished. Bah. Whatever. They arrived at the very south pole, where there was a full-size arena drawn out in the snow, presumably by the researchers working there. The trainers and referee take up opposite ends of the field and, watching the Piplup, Prinplup, and Empoleon strolling past, the referee signals the battle to begin. She then looks in shock at the Cubchoo and Beartic that have wandered into view - what are they doing there, this is the south pole not the north pole.

Round 1 Begin!

-273ºC is the first to move, her white skin and icy crystals blending in perfectly with the falling snow. She begins charging up an orb of bluish energy between her hand-ears and prepares to release it into the sky - but it fizzles out, disappearing. Puzzled, she tries again, to the same results; she looks confusedly at the referee, who helpfully reminds her that "Weather moves are banned". She growls and looks back at her opponent, who seems to be struggling to say something, stammering vaguely before he finally manages to say something to the effect of "you're very pretty". -273ºC looks at her opponent in surprise, as he continues to speak: "yeah... you have really nice, um, fur? Skin? I can't tell from here, but it's so smooth and shiny... hey, once this thing is over... would you like to maybe... go for a... an, um..." and trails off into silence. The shocked -273ºC begins stammering herself, trying to form a coherent reply, something to the effect of "well... that's very... flattering, but, um, I'm not... not really looking for a relationship right now..." and trails off into silence. Though really, the Ninetales is kind of cute... in a fuzzy way. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to weaken her attacks a little... that face is too cute for her to really hurt.

Now -273ºC prepares to use her next move, doing her best to avoid eye contact with Aureus; she launches a ball of plain white energy high into the sky, into the snowclouds, allowing it to pick up the freezing energy present there. She then directs the ball towards Aureus, who sees it coming far too late; it hits him in the side of the head, bursting into a shimmering cloud of snow. He shivers and allows his natural body heat to begin melting the snow, simeltaneously charging up dark energy in his body; as his face begins dripping, he releases the energy, which forms a solid ring expanding outwards in every direction. The ring strikes -273ºC and passes through her mostly-incorporeal body, burning her from the inside with the super-effective energy.

Once again, -273ºC launches the ball of white energy into the clouds, then guides it back down to strike Aureus; this one explodes on his back, showering him again with snow. And yet again, melting the snow, Aureus launches dark energy outwards in a wave, striking -273ºC directly and searing her from the inside out. Aureus glares at -273ºC, who does her best not to look back at him.

Round 2 Begin!

-273ºC opens up the round by hovering absolutely still, eyes closed, and muttering very slightly under her breath. Suddenly, her eyes snap open, glowing brightly; an aura of the same colour snakes out from her and reaches Aureus, where it forms a cage-like affair out of pure energy. The confused Aureus inspects it warily, then it suddenly shrinks very rapidly, disappearing inside him and sealing off a portion of his knowledge. Feeling that he has lost the ability to use Dark Pulse, he figures that this must have been Disable; his trainer ordered him to use Ember in this situation, yes? With some difficulty, he locates the snow-demon among all the hail (no easy feat, it must be said) and breathes out a small jet of flame, which melts the snow on its way through the air, striking -273ºC and hurting her to an incredible degree, causing her to feel as though she is melting.

Hoping to avoid this happening again, -273ºC begins flying around in small, tight circles, speeding up until she is naught more than a blur; when she slows down again, there are four identical clones behind her. Unfortunately, they flicker and vanish immediately, the falling hail having gone straight through them and caused them to disappear. Aureus snickers to himself before launching another jet of flame straight at -273ºC.

Angry now, -273ºC holds up her hand-ears and charging up a ball of ghostly energy between them, then freeing it and sending it at Aureus. It wobbles erratically on its path, but finds its mark eventually, slamming into Aureus' side with a thunk; he feels his skin being seared by the ghostly energy, and notes that that area of his skin now feels much more tender. He growls and breathes out another jet of fire, knowing by -273ºC's screaming that it has reached its mark.

Round 3 Begin!

For once Aureus is the first to move, his eyes glowing a shimmering green before a translucent dome of the same color appears in the air around him. -273ºC glares at it, knowing that her move is going to fail, but tries nontheless: she holds up her hand... ears, and a shimmering purple glow begins to extend from them, wobbling slowly through the air - pierced randomly and rather amusingly by the falling hail - and finally snuffing itself out against the shield. Aureus giggles as his shield fades away, its purpose served.

Muttering under her breath, -273ºC holds up her... appendages? once more, a bright blue orb quickly forming in between; she suddenly launches it at Aureus, who it hits and explodes in a mess of water and sound. Shaking his head to clear the ringing from his ears, Aureus looks up and, finding -273ºC in the snow, opens his mouth wide, then a massive burst of fire erupts forth. Even Aureus seems surprised, staring at the fire as it flies through the air, forming itself into a shape as it goes and melting the snow beneath, before it hits -273ºC. Reality itself seems to distort just for a second as -273ºC screams in pain, her ghostly powers obviously having some effect.

Panting, she floats down to the ground, and begins considering her trainer's orders - fifteen percent? How was she supposed to know wether she still had a full fifteen-freaking-percent of her health left? But as Aureus throws his head back for another Fire Blast, her thought process goes into overdrive - ohgodanotherofthoseissuretoknockmeoutwhatdoIdoooooooo - and, just as the Fire Blast strikes, she reaches a decision. As she collapses to the ground, unconscious, a purplish aura rises up from her body, then speeds over to and engulfs Aureus - he screams in pain, and collapses as well.

Muttering about anticlimactic endings, the trainers recall their Pokémon and walk over to the referee, who duly passes out both judgement and paychecks. The formalities over with, she sends out the League Reuniclus from her pack, and the various wild Pokémon watch in amazement as the three humans disappear in a flash of green light.
