Arena: Hearthome's Foreign Building

Though no longer in the early stages of construction (if there was such a thing - the building seemed to spring up overnight), Hearthome's Foreign Building, a place of peace and serenity, is still incomplete. This, of course, means that it is still perfectly fine to tear it up with blades and flame, and that is exactly what the irreverent visitors from Asber intend to do.

The entire building seems to be made of a single massive pale stone, carved out with beautiful and intricate designs on the walls, inside and out. Looking closely, one can see thin embossed vines creeping up the walls, and the entire design is meant to play with one's eyes and perspective. A lone chandelier, surprisingly difficult to remove from its perch on the ceiling, lights up the building far more effectively than the sunlight streaming through the windows; looking up, it appears fairly standard, if a bit of a fire hazard, but given the building's height, one would realise the chandelier must be massive. The candles are truly large torches, and between them is enough space for several braviary to perch without issue.

Cartoonish stone druddigon are carved into the walls, near the ceiling, and peer down as if watching the battle. Like the walls of the building, however, they apparently cannot be damaged.

The stained glass windows portray various scenes, and a large painting at the front of the church, the subject of a young lady's stare, depicts light descending from the heavens. These, too, cannot be damaged.

This does not mean the church is entirely immune to the effects of pokémon attacks, however. There are two stone statues of pokémon in the corners, not fully embedded in the ground, and the stone pews aren't nailed down, either. The floor appears to be standard dirt, not at all holy, and destroying it probably doesn't matter, given that there is talk of actually putting down some sort of flooring in the near future. However, there is little else in the way of decoration or furniture.

Several people, unflappably serene, stand or sit around the building, apparently unfazed by the battle. If talked to, they will freely talk about the grace of life, of supernatural abilities, of balancing spirit and nature, but will otherwise remain respectfully, and creepily, silent.

Additional rules: No fully-evolved pokémon. As stated before, it's a double battle where Pathos and I are allies; our opponent(s) can decide whether or not to fight alone. Sending out will be done by PM.

If our opponent is a single person, for the purposes of attack order Pathos and I will be treated as the same person (AAB/BAA); if there are two opponents, attack order will be ABAB/BABA.

Alrighty, Kalona. I want you to start out by using Substitute to set up to take a hit from one of them, make it a 10%. Then use Aqua Jet on Ling Yoa, then I want you to use a nice Brick Break on Zerzin. Pretty straight foreward commands here...

Substitute (10%) ~ Aqua Jet @ Ling Yoa ~ Brick Break @ Zerzin

Mmk then, Zerzin. Commands are pretty simple; if you can't discharge for some reason, check your Hidden Power against Bachuru.

Magnet Rise ~ Discharge / Hidden Power x2

Alright Bachuru. Use Spider Web to trap Zerzin to one of the statues. Then use Disable and try to get rid of Discharge on Zerzin. Then use Protect to survive the last blows.

Spider Web @ Zerzin ~ Disable @ Zerzin ~ Protect

Hm, interesting.

Right, then, Ling, this might throw a wrench into our plans, but it won't be too hard.

We'll start with a swords dance, because we'll need it to destroy the substitute to make way for Zerzin's discharge.

Next will depend on the effects of spider web. Since Bachuru's really small and Zerzin's floating above her with or without magnet rise, chances are, even if spider web is shot with a large amount of force, gluing Zerzin to a statue won't work and will instead just ... cover it in web. But let's not risk it.

On the second action, I want you to use earthquake, assuming Zerzin won't be harmed by it. However, if Zerzin has successfully been glued to a surface that would render it vulnerable to earthquake, use a thunderpunch on Kalona's substitute instead.

I don't know if Bachuru will automatically wait until after discharge to disable it or if she'll move first as speed allows which would just get rid of magnet rise for actions in which no one cares about it anyway, but either way, delicious electricity is coming your way. Still, pay attention to it.

If discharge is disabled, use a focus punch against Kalona. Also use focus punch if it wouldn't go past 5% over the damage cap and wouldn't be ruined by discharge (since you're immune to it, but it's, er, bright).

If discharge is not disabled and you believe focus punch would either be disrupted by a discharge or it would be rendered useless by the damage cap, use feint on Bachuru. Even where bugs are the cutest things ever, they shouldn't be allowed to feel too safe.

Swords Dance ~ Earthquake / Thunderpunch @ Kalona ~ Focus Punch @ Kalona / Feint @ Bachuru

.:Pre-battle:.

The building itself was able to take the breathe away from many who enter it, mystified by the beauty of it. With its grand design and attention to detail, many would feel sorry if it ever got destroyed by some unneeded force. Sadly, that was the plan of four trainers as they enter the building, their starting pokemon at their sides. A fifth member trails behind, looking a little frazzled do to computer problems at home and looks at the trainers, apologizing for being late.

Taking their places, they command their starting pokemon to start tearing the building apart as they fight.

~Round one~

Kalona wastes no time is preparing for the incoming assault on his system. He focuses his energy, feeling a portion of his very soul slip from his body, his energy leeching form him and creating a golem of himself as a form of protection. Looking his doppelganger over, he nods when he finds it capable of the task at hand. He looks over to his partner, sizing the miniature spider up curiously and wonders what she would have up her sleeve for the battle. With no time at all, Bachuru knitted a web from her own silks and tried to fling it at the floating magnet in hopes of trapping it and rendering it unable to move. Sadly, the thrown net didn’t have enough force to push Zerzin back to stick to anything in the room, which in turn only made Zerzin sticky with the web hanging off of it like a shroud.

Holding back a laugh, Ling turns his attention away from his teammate and waves to the opponents with a wide grin. Both Kalona and Bachuru wonder how he could see them with his eyes closed, but are not too concerned when Ling starts to dance on the spot. Falling silent, they watch as the little Riolu dance a hazardous looking dance, spinning on his heel and creating shards of light that resemble swords spinning around him. With a final jump, Ling lands with his arms folded behind his back, his grin never waning. Zerzin, not pleased with the shroud of sticky goo, wobbles in the air a bit. Annoyed, he focuses on his move, sending off a unique magnetic force that pushes against the ground to lift him upward off the ground more. With a glance to Ling, he wobbles again that could be mistaken as a nod if his kind were able to express that action.

Kalona folds his arms, not very impressed with the floating magnet and a dancing jackal pup. Rolling his eyes, he sets his sights on the dancing king and starts to encase himself in water. Falling into a dead run, he launched himself at Ling, covering himself with more water until he looked like a aqua arrow aimed at the poor Riolu. Crashing into Ling, he flashes a triumphant grin as he jumps away from the sprawled out mutt. Bachuru chuckles, skittering around to avoid the drops of water that went wide from Kalona’s attack. Clicking under her breathe she looks at Zerzin and glares at him with venom in her eyes. How dare he shrug off her web and not get stuck to a wall, then insult her more by floating further from the ground! She focuses on Zerzin’s only eye, willing her anger into his mind to lock the last move he pulled. Only after she locked away his Magnet Rise did she realize that her trainer wanted her to lock away a move that hadn’t happened yet.

Ling, shaking water off his fur, looks at the opponents with a slight pout and folds his arms behind his back again. He can feel the Electirizer his trainer strapped to him, shifting it a bit so it will stop digging into his back. With a sly look, he chuckles at the enemy as he sets the item into a comfortable place. He leaps up into the air, making both Kalona and Bachuru think he was starting another dance move. Upon landing however, the ground shook as vicious tremors rippled and tossed both Kalona and Bachuru into the air before crashing into the far wall. Just as Kalona was about to hit the wall however, his living golem lept up from its place and forced itself between the wall and its master to cushion the blow to spare Kalona the pain. Wearing a grin, he folds his arms behind his back again and nods to Zerzin after seeing that the action before had spared him from the ill effects of the earthquake. With little time, Zerzin started to spark and snap, charging and collecting as much electricity as he could and holds it in. With one final loose spark, he releases the pent up charge and lets it wash over the arena. Bachuru yips a bit, finding it annoying, sadly though her partner let out a sharp cry as his body quivered violently from the electric current coursing through her. Ling on the other hand grins as the wave of the discharge is absorbed by the item on his back, giving him a soft jolt to loosen his joints and making him feel more limber.

Kalona shakes himself out, rubbing his arms to make sure nothing had locked up. Pleased to find that his body was still under his control, he set his sights on the devil that caused him this pain. With a growl, he lunges at Zerzin, using a nearby statue as a spring board to force himself higher into the aim to deliver a fierce blow to Zerzin’s body strong enough to break bricks. Falling back to the ground after landing his hit, he flips himself in the air and lands back on his feet with a smirk. Glancing over to Bachuru, he notes the faint shimmer in the air around her that forms a single shield to protect her small delicate body from harm.

However, Ling wasn’t going to let a simple bubble of near-impenetrable specifications stop him. He darts toward the shielded spider, leaping once more into the air with nimble grace and focuses his fighting spirit into his attack. To Bachuru’s horror, her small bubble of protection wasn’t able to stop Ling’s fist from entering her personal space and striking her with enough force to send her to crash into the side of her own shield. With the impact, her protect shatters and leaves her defenceless to the world once more. With a soft clicking, she cowers in place as Ling jumped away from their side and folded his arms behind his back once more sporting a wide grin. Zerzin let off a soft hum of static to congratulate his teammate, turning back to Kalona and Bachuru. Yet again he collects the electric currents coursing through him, holding the power tight in his core until it was too much to contain. Discharging the force, Kalona screeched again in pain, falling to one knee as the foul energy zipped through his again. Bachuru let out a soft squeak as she is yet again hit with the annoying discharge of electric currents. Shaking if off, she whimpers as she catches the smirk on Ling’s face as he yet again stands unharmed from the discharge. Ling draws his arm out and studied it, liking the feel of loose limbs with every electric current sent to him.

You referred to Zerzin as a he throughout the reffing, and should probably mention that Zerzin has the ability Levitate for the moment, as well as Ling Yao's Motor Drive.

1) Sorry if reffering Zerzin as a 'he'. At the time couldn't think of many pronouns for a genderless pokemon. If you prefer something else, just tell me.

2) Riiiiight, I knew I forgot to mention something.

Blah.

Okay, spam discharge, set up a substitute for 15% of your health first chance you get where buizel isn't attempting to focus punch. If neither of your opponents are hittable (protect/detect, dig, something), chill, unless you haven't created a sub yet, then do that.

Substitute (15%) / Discharge / Chill x3

Alright, I think we are done here. Team Risembool Rangers has lost due to DQ. Now to see if I did the prizes right...

Winners: Miniskirt Army= $16 dollars each
Losers: Risembool Rangers= Nothing becuase you both are disquilified.
Ref: I think...$10?
