Hmm... Foongus. Well, it is frustrating that Golett can not learn Taunt, but we'll have to deal with it. Start with Safeguard so we won't have to deal with that nasty sleep. Next you'll probably be safe, so nail it with a Psychic. If the Safeguard failed for some reason on the first action, go for it again. Finally you'll want to hit her with Psychic again (or possibly for the first time).

Both pokemon seem quite at odds with their arena; the icy rink sends a chill through Levijatan's spine (or lack-there-of?), while Mary simply shivers from cold. Still, despite their clearly unpleasant states, they both have to get on with the battle, and Levijatan is the first to do so.

The ghost waves its arms in front of itself quickly, tiny sparkles following its hands as it moves, and builds a semi-transparent protective shield around itself. The shield is more visible in the ice below the golett, reflecting as a sparkling barrier, whereas above the ice it's near invisible save for a few occasional shimmers.

Mary doesn't pay this much attention. Instead she shrinks down into the ice - unpleasant as it is - and pops up suddenly, growing much larger than she really is with the help of ghostly machinations. Levijatan jumps back in shock, stumbling on the ice and falling onto its behind; it quickly rights itself, somewhat paranoid the ice will crack under its feet. Mary's attack hadn't been very damaging, but it was pretty scary.

Both battlers were still more afraid of their arena than anything else, though. Levijatan gripped the ice below with its rocky feet and grasped at Mary's energy telepathically - Mary winced, feeling something strange, and all of a sudden her head seemed to explode in pain. She clung to the ice, the cold a sudden relief to her pain; whatever that was hurt, goddamit. And just as quick as it started, it stopped, although the pain lingered somewhat, reminding her that the ice wasn't the worse thing imaginable.

She sighed and rightened herself, spotting Levijatan again. She quickly shook herself, releasing dozens of tiny spores into the cold air and towards the golett. A sleeping opponent is a quiet one, much easier to beat up. But as the spores neared Levijatan, that seemingly harmless barrier it had created earlier sparked white on contact with each and every spore, dissipating them into nothingness. Levijatan sighed with relief, while Mary groaned in confusion and annoyance.

And then it happened again - that deadening pain. She shriveled into herself like a shellos being salted, but oh god, the pain, it just wouldn't go away. From the corner of her eye she could spot Levijatan poised with an arm raised in her direction, so she imagined it was the cause for her pain - not that anyone else could be - and she decided that yes, that golett must pay.

So when the pain stopped, finally, she was a tad disappointed that all she was ordered to do was grow. Especially when all she wanted to do was hide. Still, orders were orders. There weren't many nutrients for her in this place, but as a pokemon she could manage. She dug into her own energy stores and seemed to grow to double her previous size within seconds - not a huge feat, considering she had been so tiny before, and still was. Still, the growth gave her considerable boosts, and she felt more capable of taking on that golett.

Well that worked quite well now didn't it Levi?

Psychic is quite a sweeper right now, so I see no problem abusing it to full effect. Golett has an annoyingly limited moveset that can be used against Foongi (No Iron Fist + Telekinesis + STAB Dynamicpunch D:), so it's our best bet to use it for the first action. Next Chill to get some of that well needed energy back, and finally get that Safeguard back on the last action. Spore is nasty.

Levijatan shivers again as it raises an arm towards the slightly larger foongus, preparing to grab her with psychic energy, but it finds its target blocked - the psychic energy ripples useless against a protective shield erected by Mary, who grins devilishly. Although she's just as uncomfortable as Levijatan, she's still determined to win, and doing so means not being hit by any more of those damned psychic attacks.

Levijatan quickly stops its attempts to attack, instead focusing on a little resting time. Doing so is a bit difficult under the circumstances; the golett crosses its rocky arms and tries to ignore its location, instead pretending it's fast asleep on a comfortable mountain somewhere. It's hard, though, when the chill keeps creeping in.

It's even harder when it feels its life forces being drained away. Levijatan opens its eyes in shock to find green orbs flowing from it towards Mary, who still has that grin plastered on her red-and-white face. As more and more orbs leave its body, the pain grows unbearable, and Levijatan falls to its knees and grips the ice, similar to Mary's predicament the previous round. Mary, of course, is enjoying the attack, gaining sustenance from each orb that returns to her, until the last few have reached her and no more are left. Levijatan waits a few seconds to be sure the attack is done before returning shakily to its feet, now suddenly wary of its opponent.

And all of a sudden, the protective shield surrounding the golett shimmers away, noticeable only because it sparkles as it disappears. Levijatan frowns, but raises its arms quickly to replace it; within seconds another shield is formed, near-invisible as the last. It seems unnecessary, though, since all Mary is interested in doing is relaxing. She finds it just as hard as Levijatan did - the cold is getting to her as well. She frowns and shivers, but as Levijatan did, she pretends she's somewhere else - somewhere really really sunny - and manages to relax a bit.

Whoa, didn't expect Giga Drain to do that much damage. Well, super-effective STAB is annoying.

Simple closing your eyes on the first action should suffice. Flash is vision based, so I see no problem there. Next she'll be growing again, which is getting a slight bit annoying. Take the opportunity to get a Psychic in. Finally, let's try something different. Try and create a Substitute. You may have to punch the ice to get the materials for the attack, but that won't matter much. Make the Sub 15%.

Instead of attacking - or doing anything, really - Levijatan simply closes its eyes, somewhat worried by its orders. A moment later a brilliant flash spreads throughout the hockey rink, illuminated even further by the ice, but all Levijatan can see is a slight brightness through its eyelids. Mary frowns, disappointed, but no big loss.

Levijatan opens its eyes and raises a fist towards Mary, intent on doing damage after last round. Mary yelps as the same crippling pain spreads throughout her body, numbing her to the cold and instead reminding her that that damned golett isn't as friendly as she'd hoped. She lets out a pitiful whimper before Levijatan finally lets go, and then she takes a huge breath of relief. Hopefully that will never have to happen again.

For now, though, she's going to concentrate on doing more damage. More future damage. She closes her eyes and draws from whatever store of energy she'd drawn from before, pulling from it and growing larger - she's still small, but she grows considerably. Most noticeably though, she feels even stronger, and definitely more capable of dealing pain.

Perhaps even more wary now of the foongus, Levijatan decides its best course of action would be for it to avoid damage. It waves an arm in front of itself, much like it had done the previous two rounds to erect its safeguards, but this time orbs of energy flow from itself outwards and form another golett - a rubbery, fake-looking one, but a golett nontheless. As the orbs flow together, the golett comes to life beside its creator, who looks considerably worse for wear after creating its protector.

And unfortunately, Mary doesn't plan on letting it live long. The foongus grins and lowers her mushroom-top, forming a greenish ball of energy above it; the ball grows to a massive size, aided by her own growths, and she bumps it with her head, sending it launching towards the goletts. The fake golett takes the hit and erupts on contact, unable to sustain the damage - it simply collapses, all the life force Levijatan had put into it fading immediately into the air like a balloon being popped. And to make matters worse. Levijatan's safeguard chooses that moment to fade into nonexistence, petering out with a tiny sparkle. The remaining golett whimpers; it's cold and pained and tired, and is definitely not enjoying itself.

*sigh* I was hoping the Substitute would survive the Energy Ball. Ah well, I'm being owned so far. And I guess I should've assumed that closing your eyes does not take up an entire action.

Safeguard again to start. If we don't keep that force field up, you'll be asleep in no time. Next I want a Double Team, I assume with your speed you'll be able to manage three clones at the maximum, so go with that. However, if you were attacked last action, use Ice Beam. Use Ice Beam on the next action, unless you used it on the second action, then use Double-Team.

Already fearing the loss of its safeguard, Levijatan raises a fist and waves it around, conjuring more sparkles. Quick enough, another barrier is formed, easing the golett's fearful mind. Unfortunately, while Levijatan was protecting itself, Mary was doing the same - or as much as she could. She scooted around on the ice, sliding around as fast as she could, which wasn't very fast. Slowly enough, though, another foongus began to appear behind her as she slid faster and faster, until finally she skidded to a stop, with one more friendly foongus bouncing around next to her. This only added to the paranoia in Levijatan's mind, as Mary had, of course, expected.

Clearly not enjoying being outnumbered, Levijatan took a tentative step on the ice, then another, until he was sure he wouldn't fall through. He then began to job slowly and carefully, faster and faster, letting the blur behind he build into clones like Mary had before him. Luckily for him he moved quite a bit faster than the foongus, and when he stopped moving, skidding a bit on the ice, there were four golett standing before Mary. Mary faltered a bit, unsure of herself; but she had to attack, outnumbered or not.

She took a breath, as did her clone, and green orbs formed on Levijatan's body - the actual Levijatan. He gasped in pain and shock, losing concentration on his clones, meaning they all faltered from existence. Mary grinned with renewed energy and more orbs flew from the golett towards her and her clone; Levijatan groaned in extreme pain, laying his hands on his knees, trying to support himself as his very life was flowing towards his opponent. When the orbs slowed, grew smaller and finally stopped, Levijatan looked like there was little life left to him.

Levijatan groaned and stood straight, staring Mary down. It began to form an orb of ice in front of ice, drawing energy from the cold around it, and suddenly the ice exploded towards Mary and her clone. The ice beam shattered against a protective shield, behind which both foongus took a deep sigh of relief, definitely not wanting to be hit by that.

Determined to get rid of that clone, whichever one it was, Levijatan formed another beam of ice before itself; the beam swerved towards one of the foongus, exploding on contact. There was a shrill screaming, alerting Levijatan to the fact that it had hit the right one - and immediately the second foongus flashed into nonexistence. Mary kept squealing as the ice coated her sensitive skin, but luckily when the beam faded, she wasn't left with anything covering her; though she was still shivering in extreme agony, she was not frozen solid.

She shivered again and shook herself, in more pain that she could have imagined. She'd get that golett back though. She lowered her mushroom-head and popped up suddenly, ghostly energy making her appear far scarier than she really was. Levijatan stumbled back in shock; with her larger size, the attack was more successful than it had been in the beginning of the round, and the golett fell on his behind, a chill running through him. That foongus was way scarier than it has imagined. It hesitated to climb back up, but it had to, in order to attack again.

As it got to its feet, the collective pain it had sustained throughout the battle was getting to it; it could barely keep itself upright. Still, it formed another ice beam, unleashing it onto the unprotected foongus. Mary tried to shield herself with her mushroom-top but it was pointless; the ice rippled against her, coating her completely, and this time when Levijatan stopped it, she was still covered in ice. Not completely, of course, but her top was definitely left with a shimmering reflection of ice; she continued to shiver even after the ice beam had stopped. Considering the arena, it would probably be a while before that melted.

She sighed, still shivering, and popped up, doubling her size again with ghostly energy. Levijatan couldn't help but gasp in shock, despite the repeated tactic, and he slipped and fell as before. This time he felt too tired and weak to consider getting up; he just hugged his legs and trembled in fear. Who knew foongus could be so scary?

Mary continued to shiver, but she still managed to built up an orb of greenish energy in front of her. She bounced it forwards with her head, sending it rolling towards Levijatan; the golett fearfully threw up a protective shield, and the energy ball bounced off harmlessly, sending its energy rippling into the air like green apple juice. Mary frowned; she was growing tired too, and was cold and wanted this to end. But Levijatan was definitely glad that attack hadn't hit. He knew he wouldn't last much longer.

Finally something happened in my favour. There isn't much left to do Levijatan, as you're going to faint from her absolutely destroying you, or fainting from energy. A tad bit more worried than it was before due to its commands, Levijatan forms another beam of ice and launches it at the already slightly frozen foongus. Mary shivers as the ice coats her, freezing her to core; she prays to the gods that it doesn't stick to the ice already coating her, because it hurts enough already. As before, Levijatan has little ability to make the ice last long, not that Mary is complaining.

A paranoid look takes over Levijatan's face. It somehow fears that this is its doom, whatever comes now. And it's wiser than it knows. Green orbs begin to flow from it towards Mary, and the orbs grow larger and larger, even larger than the previous times; and they don't seem to stop, even as Levijatan feels the last bit of health is being sapped from him; he kneels towards the ice, hoping he'll be left with just a teeny bit of health, but the world goes blurry and then he can't see at all, and his face smacks into the ice and he's gone cold.

Mary shivers again, but she feels as if that ice beam hadn't struck her at all, after all the health she's sapped. She grins as Levijatan is withdraw back into his ball, ready to take on whatever's coming.
