As soon as the Round began, all three trainers standing in the room felt a small pang of nausea. Ampharos gasped, and recognizing the effects, checked his watch. Yep, the second hand was running backwards, time had been reversed. God was the first of the Pokemon to feel the strange effects, and realized with a burst of robotic happiness that he was now faster than everybody else in the vicinity, meaning this round would be very good from his standpoint. He began by accessing his vocal processors, and in the same matter as how he would speak normally; he began to broadcast the sound of a recorded voice singing. The tune that emanate from him was a very happy and energetic tune that really got everybody feeling happy. At least on sreservoir’s side. RK and Smugleaf were putoff by the joyful tune, and they narrowed their eyes. Narya recognized the tune, it was one that most Pokemon knew, and she began to join in, a fox-like smile on her face. The sound was now reverberating through the arena, even though no walls were present to echo the sound. Smugleaf was now covering his ears, the sound horrible loud. RK-9 could do nothing but wait for the sound to end. The Substitutes were also not taking it very well. The power of God’s Round was enough to destroy them, making the Vulpix’s tune hurt the two Pokemon themselves. Though the turn order had been reversed, the same effect that had been intended was what happened, making God and Narya quite happy.
RK-9 was not exactly happy that the slow little Porygon was able to attack faster than him, but he was secretly enjoying the fact that he was outspeeding his partner. Smugleaf of course, was not taking the time change very lightly, and like the trainers he was feeling nauseous from the change. RK-9 raised his head to the white sky/ceiling/whatever that was positioned above him. RK-9 was now starting to feel slightly claustrophobic, as he looked up, unable to see the moon that was always there. Not even a silhouette far off, still visible in the light of the sun. He whimpered as he realized that the Trick Room was messing with him more than he thought. He was attacking, wasn’t he? Yeah, he supposed to be hurting Narya, right? He ran forward, and promptly tripped over, well, nothing. He hit the ground hard, and whimpered as more damage flooded into him. He backed up, realizing that he had failed. Smugleaf really didn’t want to attack at that point, wishing that he could just sit down and let this horrible arena effect wear off. And yet he was forced to, and so he charged forward, almost drunkenly, and at the same time sharpened the leaves on his tail. As he approached God he did a half pirouette that made him feel oh so manly. The spin caused his tail leaves to swing out, badly cutting the Porygon. God backed away as he felt the first bit of damage from the entire battle.
God was once again given the opportunity to attack first, and of course he took it. Now he was to attack the Growlithe that had just attempted to get an emotional boost. Of course, the poor confused thing had failed, and now he was going to make him feel even worse. He tapped into a secretive power that he had learned in his days in Hoenn many years ago. An attack that relied much on the current terrain, God couldn’t really see it changing much in the insanely unnatural area they were fighting in, and so he fired off the normal version of the attack. From his polygonal body a brilliant white beam, seemingly lighter in pigment than the room itself zoomed forward. The powerful beam struck the discouraged Growlithe, to which the animal whimpered once more. The beam hadn’t paralyzed him, quite luckily, but he was still depressed. He decided to retaliate, but not against the one who had just hurt him. He decided to let the Vulpix feel what it was like to feel pain from a Growlithe. He rushed forward, at this moment not afflicted by the haze in his head. He opened his jaws wide, and let dark energy flood into them. When he got close to Narya he sunk them deep into her flesh, producing a small stream of blood. The Vulpix yelped as the pain dug into her, but she bit back the tears and shook the Growlithe off. That had hurt, and she was going to get her revenge.
Smugleaf took small joy in the fact that he was outspeeding the pesky Vulpix in the current situation. He once again took the opportunity to harm his Proygon opponent. He charged forward, tail leaves bristling, having finally started to master the crazy reversed time dimension. Thus he didn’t look quite as intoxicated, and he was able to run with his old vigour, or at least close to hit. He jumped up and spun once more, letting his razor sharp tail slice right through the “skin” of God. The Porygon let out a low buzz to show his displeasure, and the Snivy took the hint, backing away to avoid any serious injury that might occur. Narya now finally got the chance to attack, having waited a while between the Round and this next attack. She crouched down and squeezed her eyes shut, searching around the mental airwaves for a sign of Smugleaf. As she did this she started to feel more and more dizzy from the Trick Room. She was unable to find Smugleaf’s signal very fast, and when she did the Snivy had prepared himself, making the walls of his mind impenetrable. Narya returned to her own mind dejectedly, knowing she had failed.
God knew he was going to miss the ability to attack first, and so he decided he was going to make the best of it. Sadly, he wasn’t being ordered to blow somebody up or something along those lines. Alas, one couldn’t always get what they wanted. He began to use his psychic powers to increase the gravity in the arena, the same effect that all of the competitors had recently experienced. However, as hard as he tried, he couldn’t seem to do a thing. He looked over at the ref, who though now looked very pale and sickly, was holding up a flag, meaning that the move God was attempting to use was not going to work. God sighed, his trainer wasn’t exactly displaying fountains of intelligence, considering res had found the arena and should’ve known the rules that were in place. RK now saw his opportunity to get another attack, his opponent having been stopped by the referee. Once again he couldn’t attack the Porygon, his partner was dealing with that, so he ran forward at his other opponent, the Vulpix who also wasn’t accomplishing much. His mandibles opened up once more, and he could feel dark energy coat them and stick like glue. He dug them into Narya once more, and once again the Vulpix cried out, visibly stricken from the horrible pain she was suffering from. She then hissed, and RK-9 happily backed off.
Smugleaf rejoiced at the fact that he was finally going to be able to attack normally after this last action, meaning his Leaf Blades wouldn’t be as clumsy. He worried that he might be attacked by another mental assault from Narya, and he didn’t know what that had been meant to do. He charged forward for the last time in the round, now tired of tightening up the leaves that stretched behind him. He decided not to waste the energy by jumping this time, so he simply turned around once he reached God, whipping his leaves so that they struck God once more. The Porygon was now infuriated, as his partner had failed to stop the assault on him. Narya was now attempting to make amends, though she was no longer targeting Smugleaf. This time when she closed her eyes looking for mental signals she worked fast, and she was able to find RK-9’s aura almost immediately. She made her way in quickly, no walls able to stop her in time. Soon she found the data in his brain that made him use Crunch. She quickly blocked off this data as well as she could, not letting the Growlithe use it again any time soon. She returned back to her body just as she felt time return to normal, the world running smoothly again. That was a relief.
