Arena: Third Anomaly
The Third Anomaly is, as its name suggests, an Anomaly. Arceus only knows how the battlers got there or how they'll get out, but such is the way of the universe. Also unknown is how anyone can see, being as there are no visible light sources, but it is as bright as a typical midsummers midday. It is, at least to begin with, an infinitely large plain white platform floating in nothing. As the battle goes on, however, that platform changes to whatever is required by the battle - if, for example, there is a fish Pokémon on the field, there will be a large pond to swim in. There will be air for everyone can breathe. If Sandstorm is used, sand appears. And so forth. The gravity there is only half of Earth's, so each Pokémon is only half as heavy for things like Grass Knot. This also removes any energy cost that Flyers or Hoverers would need to fly or hover, be they Inherently or Consentually.

The most important effect of this Anomaly is that at the end of each round, both Pokémon in battle will have their moveset and ability replaced with that of another Pokémon. This can be any Pokémon in existence, including Legendaries. Also, the Pokémon are dazed and confused after this change, so as soon as the first round is complete and the first change has taken place, the Pokémon can't listen to any commands and their moves are selected randomly, similar to Sleep Talk.

Another of the major effects of the Third Anomaly is that at the end of every round, at the same time as the changes, both battlers' energy is restored to 100%. Not infinite energy, note, so if a Pokémon uses incredibly energy-intensive moves, it could, at least in theory, faint from energy loss. As though to compensate for this, if a healing move is used, it will fail.

The last effect of note is that at the beginning of every third round, a random object will appear. Any object, from sardines to submarines, and they can appear in any manner the ref wants. What they do is also entirely up to the ref. They vanish at the end of the round, again in a manner of the ref's choosing.

Minor doubt: are the new abilities and new movesets supposed to be both from the same species, or from different ones each?

Las viejas pesetas creen que:
- Squornshellous Beta envia a un Pokémon primer
- RK-9 envia a otro Pokémon y después le da comandos
- Squornshellous Beta da comandos a su Pokémon
- Yo hago la (el?) arbitraje

Different species each.

A couple more questions.

Are Dream World abilties rollable? And are fake Pokémon rollable?

Use Swords Dance dance once, then use 2X BRICK BREAK COMBO. If you're hit with a physical during when you break the bricks, use Revenge instead. If you are tormented for Brick break, use Toxic.

"Gee, thanks a lot, Arceus! But, say, how do you even do this stuff?"

"Apparently, I'm the only one who's supposed to know that."

"Well, anyway, I'll send you back to Karkat after the match is over."

"Actually, there was an ord-"

"Oh, hush, you silly creator deity. Back to the Pokéball you go."

As the legendary Pokémon was recalled, each traveler met the Third Anomaly with a different reaction. Squornshellous Beta wasn't surprised at all; it was as though she was used to places of this sort. Metallica Fanboy scanned the area a bit, trying to gather whether the presence of light was due to a proper source or juggalo magic. RK-9 seemed rather impressed with the place, although he seemed to be expecting no short of what he was seeing.

Deeming the search for answers useless, the referee read the rules aloud, and then signaled for the Pokémon to be sent out. At that point, a quadrupedal creature that seemed to have plenty of both fur and scales, both at unusual colors even for the species, took the field. In response, a humanoid Pokémon with blades all over his metallic body was sent out.

With another proper signal, the match began.

Both Pokémon closed their eyes and began to focus deeply. The first to break from this initial sendout was God, who slowly began to perform spinning motions that slowly evolved into faster-paced, wider movements -- perhaps, even, more violent.

After the elegant Swords Dance had run its course, its user, much more focused now, finished with a somersault. However, he quickly noticed that the ground he landed on from that was no longer unnaturaly plain white, but rather, rocky, with a dangerous crack running through it. He tried stepping out of the way, but was just short of time as a bright yellow blast of energy broke from beneath, flinging him straight upwards and into another landing, this time less elegant and more painful.

He wasn't about to let that slide. His Bisharp superior in the wild taught him not to let such slights go unpunished, no, sir. With a few leaps, he quickly began moving towards his enemy. In advance, Trogloxene managed to set up another patch of earthy explosion; however, it didn't burst in time to stop the incoming foe from moving in and delivering a combination of literally sharp, two-handed blows to the head followed by a quick kick. As he backed off after performing his move, however, he walked right into the trap, and was struck by another surge of Ground-type power.

Smirking at the eventual success of his move, the Deino made sure to set another one up before his foe started to attack again. What followed next was little more than a repeat of the previous action, with the Pawniard delivering a powerful Brick Break, only be to be caught up on another blow from Earth Power. While the Dark and Dragon type didn't quite appreciate all the skillful blows he was being put through, he could figure that the opponent couldn't be in really good shape from the armor-piercing bursts.

And then, the monochrome ground of the Third Anomaly flashed twice. All but the blind Trogloxene and her already aware trainer were puzzled. And when it settled, the puzzlement could only grow. Said Trogloxene was suddenly floating! And it seemed to be that her aerial movements were fast beyond her control. She was also brimming with unusually powerful Dragon-type energy. God hardly seemed to change much, although his serious, focused expression was replaced by a mischievous grin.

Neither Pokémon had the slightest idea of how they could use these newfound traits. They could only do one thing: use, and see what happens when they do just that.

Until the next time something's sent out, you mean. Commands are given as normal first round after something's sent out.

Also did I misunderstand your question? The movepool and ability for easch side come from the same thing (Trogloxene should have either Levitate or Marshtomp's movepool). I thought you meant are the battlers calculated seperately.

Seems to be.

Oh well. I'll coin flip to decide what gets kept, and then I'll edit the reffing accordingly.

The two battlers focused for a while, and then readied to unleash their newfound energies.

God began flapping his arms wildly back and forth, as if he was trying to fly. And, as though to reward his valiant efforts, a warm gale hefted from the Third Anomaly, allowing for him to shoot up skyward. He detested the heat, but, he got to perform a series of manouvers while airborne, which redirected the heated wind towards his opponent, with much more force. As a Dragon-type, she was far more comfortable with heat than he was; however, the whole current focused in one spot at her head, causing a localized burn.

But that was no match for her newfound healing powers. With a brief pinkish flash, Trogloxene focused on the burnt spot, letting her natural systems, allied to a mysterious power, do the talking. The healing was so fast, it was visible -- one could see the reddened scales quickly fade to their original color.

The Pawniard's indirect arsenal was not yet over, however; he did take upon a kind that's better geared towards supporting the leader of the flock. He somehow withdrew a leaf from the ground, crunched it, and then coughed a few chemicals up into his mouth (mouth?), quickly spitting the virulent mixture. It was a tough shot, what with the floating opponent, but it landed right on the leg, easily spreading across veins and arteries.

For the Deino, that was about it. There was little point in just sitting there healing up. Remembering her moves from the previous round, she unleashed a massive surge of legendary power straight into the ground of the Anomaly. But the outcome was rather different. That time around, there was no explosion -- just powerful tremors.

The blades sinking back and forth into the unstable floor reminded the target of the Earthquake attack of one of the most painful things known to Steel-types: the fury of Earth. The less sturdy suffer much less when it comes. Of course, it could still be very annoying to them, as the trainers and referee could tell while they completely failed to retain balance.

Once it was over, RK-9's Pokémon felt quite vengeful. And as though to give him a suggestion, the Anomaly summoned a pack of unrestful souls. Gathering Ghost-type energy at the tip of his right blade, he converged the ghosts, unleashing them in a concentrated, ghastly dash. Scary as it might have looked, however, it was highly attenuated by the target's elemental resistance.

The cave-dweller then proceeded to perform a pointless series of suggestion mind tricks. She caused his opponent to feel a reckless desire to give away for a brief while, except it had been holding nothing that it could give away.

Having used that psychic power extensively, however, Trogloxene came into mental contact beyond levels a Dark-type like her should know, and her sense of self faded as the Third Anomaly shone again. By the time her powers changed, she felt a powerful pull towards self-destruction. Meanwhile, her opponent's hunting instincts took over, and he began to scan the area for shadows he could hide in. Not that there were any around, of course.

Already the trainers realized that the battle was well out of their hands, to be decided by the shifty whim of the Anomaly. Of course, Squornshellous Beta had known that much all along. Nonetheless, at times, just watching it all unfold with no chance of interference could take a turn for the frustrating.

God felt very highly exposed without a cover to go by. If there was no darkness to hide in, then so be it, he would have to use his own energy to defend himself. Unleashing a surge of energies as unfamiliar to him as the fright he'd been feeling, he set up a defensive dome around himself.

Not that it was going to do much that round, as Trogloxene showed more interest in messing around with form. First, she transformed into her trainer, much to the utter puzzlement of everybody.

Undaunted by the bizarre swerve, the Pawniard sought the powers of the moon. There was no moon within sight, of course, so he did something that he could totally brag over later: he hung the moon. Well, the Anomaly put it there, but that's not as punny. Regardless, his attempt was doomed, as the moonlight mysteriously refused to empower him.

Having laid eyes on the moon, the former Deino decided that this would be a more interesting form to take. Man has been to the moon, but has man ever been the moon? Well, cave-dwelling dragon just got to that point.

For some reason, this fired RK-9's Pokémon right up. Who does she think she is, going around becoming the moon? That require immediate measures. Calling for the blessings of the real moon, he delivered a series of coordinated attacks, similar to the beatdowns he'd been delivering at the beggining of the match, but with less relying too much on slashing and more elegance.

No longer satisfied with being the moon -- it's so restrictive, you can't even move, all you could do is maybe be pulled around by some silly planet -- Trogloxene pulled out the final silly transformation card: she became her opponent.

By then, the Third Anomaly flashed again, replacing the enemy-copier's self-dissatisfaction with staggering hunger while God's mind raced, and he became unaware of the true lenght of his blades, feeling as though they had acorporeal extensions.

The oddest thing then, however, was that a swash of smoke rolled in as a mysterious humanoid form materialized from the haze. It was blue, and it seemed very muscular. A turban on its head cast shadow upon its creepy glowing eyes, completely mismatching the kind smile upon its mouth.

"Well, I see that you are in three. Or five." The genie spoke, revealing an Indian accent. "I will grant a wish upon each of you at a time, then. Ask away -- I will help in any way I can!"

Metallica Fanboy quickly stepped up, and wished for the genie to lock the trainers away from ruining the match with broken or insane wishes. And so it was. The other two would be granted a sensible call for the battle.

The other few wishes rolled in. Squornshellous Beta asked for her Pokémon to fight as a fierce-spirited, steel-willed warrior. As a Fighting-type, perhaps. Throh would be a good general idea, even. RK-9 was a tad more direct: he wanted some fucking Focus Blast flying around.

"Well, that's three wishes. Anything else?"

"Actually, if I may... GEENY AY WISH YOO FREE."

"Awesome! Thanks a lot!"

Free to roam, the genie petered away from the Third Anomaly, leaving the combat to resume.

God wasted no time putting the wishful power to use. He quickly concentraded a lot of Fighting-type energy between his blade arms, and then unleashed it with precision, scoring a straight blow on the target and hurling her backwards.

Undaunted, Trogloxene focused as a patch of solid ground suddenly materialized under her foe. By the time he realized, he knew what it meant, but it was much too late. A formidable shock wave wiggled the floor, scrambling the rocky surface and throwing him back savagely, causing him to land on his head. By the time he managed to pluck it out, his legs felt weak.

Not about to move around too much, the Pawniard (that was such originally) let rip a surge of almost-transparent energy, which traveled right through steely armour to cause a perfectly predictable degree of damage. In response, the Pawniard that was actually a Deino attempted to gatter her warrior spirits for one energetic attack. She reached for the powers lurking in her now fiery soul, and unleashed an array of bright red orbs, which did numbers to the enemy's armour.

Hoping to see the armour-denting go mutual, God went ahead with a straight lunge at the opponent's chest, leaving a notable chip at that part. However, just as soon as he did so, Trogloxene lashed out at him with a powerful uppercut.

After that, the Anomaly shone again. RK-9's Pokémon suddenly became highly alert and protective, scanning the area frenetically. And as for the other battler... She suddenly started playing the air guitar???

Holy shit yes.
