okay who wants to fight me?

3 vs 3 single
DQ: Standard week
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO's, 5 chills per pokemon
Arena: Awesome Land

Awesome Land is a small area in the vast forests of northwestern Orre. There is a medium-sized pond for water pokemon and water moves, soft soil and rock walls for ground and rock pokemon and moves, and lots of trees for any pokemon good at climbing. However, this area is very high up, and its western side is a huge cliff overlooking a 200-foot drop to the forest below. All the pokemon involved in battle are given a parachute to use as a held item (along with any other item they might bring in), so they will be safe even if they fall off the cliff. However, pushing your opponent off the cliff counts as a KO. It is called Awesome Land because of the scenic view.

Other: No flying type pokemon may be used, due to the unique nature of the battlefield.

Alright. Julian, use Magical Leaf, Protect then Ice Punch. That should do you for now.

Awesome Land sits high above the rest of Orre, its woods, ponds and comfortable, open clearings overlooking the emerald green Agate Village and the sweeping deserts and wastes beyond. A light breeze blows through the trees as Julian the Ralts materializes from his trainer's Pokéball, and the small Psychic-type allows himself a moment to enjoy the scenery and fresh air before his opponent makes an appearance and the ruckus begins. Said opponent, a Trapinch named Mr. Pluck, does not keep him waiting long. The Trapinch glares and snaps his big jaws shut on nothing a few times, hoping to appear intimidating. Julian is not particularly impressed with the display; he has turned his thoughts from the scenic view to his opponent's heart and mind, searching them for something that might prove useful. Of particular interest is the ant lion's level of comfort with the arena. Sure, Mr. Pluck is a little leery about the height and how solid the ground is, but he's confident that he can maneuver well enough to get to the Ralts and keep him in place. Julian synchronizes Mr. Pluck's confidence with his own; he's sure that, since he's faster and less... poorly-balanced than his foe, that he'll be able to make far better use of the ability.

Round One: Begin!

Some of the leaves on the trees surrounding the battlers are plucked neatly off of their branches by some unseen force, zipping away from their fellows and coming to a stop levitating around Julian. The leaves glow a bright green as the Ralts imbues them with a mystical energy, and with a shout he sends them spinning right in Mr. Pluck's direction. Even if the Trapinch were agile enough to duck out of the way of most attacks there would be no avoiding this one--the leaves home in on the Trapinch's body and slice right into his large head, scoring several nasty cuts across his face before losing their glow and fluttering harmlessly back to the ground.

Mr. Pluck scowls and winces; his face stings pretty badly right now, and he's pretty sure he can feel it bleeding just a little. Unwilling to allow Julian to score any more hits like that, the little ant lion stumbles forward as fast as his short legs will take him. He stops short in front of Julian and scuffs his forelegs against the earth as hard as he can, kicking up a decent amount of dirt that gets under the Ralts's helmet and into his face. Julian coughs and backs away with his hands up, trying to shield himself and wipe the grit out of his eyes simultaneously, but the damage is done for now.

Anticipating some nasty retaliation and not too sure he can aim very well at the moment anyway, Julian's red horn sparkles briefly and a wall of translucent green energy appears in front of him. Mr. Pluck sighs, smiles slightly and shakes his head. No sense wasting any time or energy attacking him, then. The Trapinch lies down and simply stares at Julian, relaxing and not terribly bothered. The little rest doesn't do him much good, as he's still feeling quite gung-ho and energetic, but it's kind of funny watching his opponent wait for an assault that isn't coming.

Julian lowers his protective barrier, sighs and resumes scrubbing at his face with his hands. He is able to clear away a little of the dirt clouding his vision, but not much. Still, it'll have to do; he needs to hurry up and attack before that weird dirt bug thing can take advantage of him. He blinks furiously a few times and then runs at Mr. Pluck, tiny fist drawn back and glowing light blue. The temperature around his hand drops suddenly, and by the time he swings it in Mr. Pluck's general direction--and lands a lucky hit right on the nose--it is uncomfortably cold. Mr. Pluck squeals and loses his balance, falling over onto his side with his legs flailing in the air. Julian backs away to a safe distance as quickly as he can so that he spend more time wiping his eyes.

Mr. Pluck wriggles furiously as he tries to get his feet back underneath him. By the time he finally manages it Julian is some ways away, and he is forced to run after the Ralts again. He'd rather be moving around in soft, shifting sand, where it would be easier for him to keep Julian in one place... he knows that wishful thinking will get him nowhere, though, and so he presses on as quickly as he can. Julian doesn't notice Mr. Pluck until it is too late--he's still preoccupied with the dirt in his eyes--and so can't react in time when the Trapinch's massive jaws snap shut around his side, tooth ridges dripping dark energy. Mr. Pluck crunches down a few more times for good measure before finally letting go, leaving his foe with a huge bite mark on his chest.

-I apologize for the delay and also apologize for any typos that might be in here; I'm having a little trouble seeing out of one eye at the moment.
-Capitain Jay attacks first next round.

Alright, Julian, you're doing well so far. Now, for your first action, I want you to use Flash. It'll be nice to share your current disability, wouldn't it? After hopefully blinding that damn Trapinch, I'd like you to use Icy Wind, and then finish off with another Magical Leaf.

Flash ~ Icy Wind ~ Magical Leaf

Zeta Reticuli has been disqualified and may not accept or make new challenges until December 27th, 2008. Capitain Jay is the winner. He receives $8 for winning and Julian gets 1 exp. Zeta Reticuli receives no money but Mr. Pluck gets 1 exp. I get $5 for reffing.
