Based off of the Chao Garden from SA2B, this garden will be holding a Pokemon battle while under the temporary name, Chao Colosseum. Chao of all kinds will be watching, and some may interfere with the battle...
Every 3 turns, a Chao will make its presence on the battle stage. If it's a Hero Chao, it will randomly select a Pokemon to be healed by 5% in both Health and Energy. If it's a Neutral Chao, there is a 70% chance that the Chao will shield the the defending Pokemon from the attack of the Pokemon that moves first. If it's a Dark Chao, there is a 50/50 chance that it will either poison or take 5% in both Health and Energy from a randomly selected Pokemon. For each of the possible Chao, there is a 10% chance that it will be a Chaos Chao of that alignment. Hero Chaos Chao will instead heal by 15%, Neutral Chaos Chao have a 90% chance of shielding the defending Pokemon, and Dark Chaos Chao will either inflict bad poisoning or take 15% in Health and Energy.
A small group of Chao cluster around the mouth of the cave that leads outside of their garden, their shapes and dispositions many and varied due to the animals and people they've played with but all equally excited. They can hear someone coming and cannot wait to see who might be coming to visit them today. The two figures that walk into the garden, however, are not hedgehogs, foxes, bats, echidnas or portly old men in red (Santa :D!) of any sort; instead of their usual caretakers, Walker and Shining Eevee have stepped in to use the garden as an arena for a Pokémon battle. When the two competitors take their place and release their Pokémon--a female Venonat named Goggles on Walker's side and a female Ralts named Ema on Shining Eevee's--the assorted Chao dash off to the mountain ledges surrounding the small pond so that they can watch the proceedings at a safe distance. Ema, so in tune with the emotions of those around her, senses how excited and eager the strange little creatures are and comes away feeling confident; Goggles is a little less enthusiastic, not so pleased to be out in the open in broad daylight and ignoring the Chao in favor of figuring out the best way to get rid of the little helmeted thing in front of her as quickly as possible.
Round One: Begin!
Little purple hairs vibrating wildly, Goggles shakes her entire body as vigorously as she can manage. Millions of tiny bug-dust particles are released into the air in front of and around Goggles, so much that they begin to obscure the Venonat's body in a thick, smoke-like cloud. Goggles's eyes flash brightly as she looses a little psychic energy, collecting the floating dust particles in front of her and mashing them together into something that vaguely resembles a Venonat but would probably be more accurately described as a large dust bunny; her eyes continue to glow for just a little longer as she psychically shoves a significant amount of her life-force into the thing and then apparently winks right out of existence, leaving only the substitute Venonat behind.
Ema stares blankly at the big dust bunny target her foe has just presented her with. What a bummer; she was looking forward to setting the big purple bug on fire. Still, she needs something to do while the real Goggles is hiding in Nowhere Land... and she suspects that the Venonat-shaped lump of bug dust might be a little flammable anyway. Her eyes glow a dull but eerie blue, and a thin wisp of flame of the same color lights itself around the Ralts's fingertips. The flame snakes around her hand and then slowly slips away from her, slithers through the air like a wraith and then comes into contact with the substitute, spreading itself over its surface... and does absolutely nothing. Apparently whatever psychic energy is holding the thing together is too strong to allow the dust to simply burn away, at least due to something as small as a will-o-wisp.
The sun is shining down merrily on the arena, and while the largely nocturnal Goggles would much prefer to be battling out under the moon instead of in the sunlight, the warmth does feel rather nice. She hops out of her secret hiding place, makes herself comfortable behind her substitute and relaxes, taking in the sunlight and synthesizing it into restorative energy. If Ema were interested in getting back at the Venonat for leaving her stuck with this annoyingly non-flammable dust bunny, she might almost be able to manage it, given how uninterested Goggles seems to be with getting back to safety for the moment. The Ralts, however, is more concerned with prepping herself for the challenges that come--specifically, destroying the substitute and then the bug that thinks it would be funny to hide behind it. She also relaxes, but for an entirely different purpose--Ema focuses on meditating instead, letting her frustration at the failed will-o-wisp fade away and filling the space it leaves behind with calmness and a newly-heightened awareness of her surroundings and mental capabilities. While she concentrates, Goggles decides that she has had enough of the sun for now and, still noticing that she is currently safe from her meditating opponent, readies her next move.
Before vanishing off to safety one last time, Goggles decides to leave Ema another little parting gift. The fluffy bug hops over to her foe and, making several unpleasant retching and gagging noises as she does so, coughs up a nasty-looking glob of purple goo. Ema is no fool, however; as soon as she heard the disgusting noises her opponent was issuing, she scurried over to the side a little. As a result, Goggles's toxic goo simply splatters all over the ground a decent distance away from its intended target. Cursing her luck, Goggles spins around to see where the slippery little Psychic-type went... only to see her bright red eyes and horn glowing ominously. Goggles panics--she pops back out of existence again, more concerned with avoiding what looks like something very painful than about her poor aim. Ema frowns; wherever Goggles has gone off to, she appears to be out of the range of any psychic attacks. Not wanting to let what she's already set up go to waste, she unleashes the attack on the substitute Venonat instead. A gale of psychic energy much more powerful than the little bit holding the dust particles together tears into the doppelganger, causing large chunks of it to disintegrate and allowing the loosened particles to float away on the gentle breeze. Only a broken husk of the substitute is still standing, and Goggles, watching from her hiding place, fears that it won't be able to protect her for much longer.

Ref's Notes
-Toxic missed.
-Shining Eevee, I am assuming that by "turns" you meant "rounds" (turns are not a valid measurement of time in ASB). If you meant "actions", let me know and this will be taken into account in the next reffing. If you did mean rounds, then at what point/which action during the round does the Chao appear?
-I blame any and all typographical errors on the cold weather and the school's stupid Mac keyboards, just so you know.
-Walker attacks first next round.
