Negrek vs Kratos Aurion

Arena: Willow Town

Willow Town is a tragically quaint, pleasant sort of place, which explains how it manages to attract so many murderers, thieves, and really stupid trainers. Its main street is like something out of an old movie: broad and well-kept, lined on either side by little mom-'n'-pop stores, including a bakery, the delicious sents from which waft out into the road. Large willow trees, their dangling fronds swaying gently in an almost imperceptible breeze, run in line with the sidewalks, and the pedestrians strolling around greet one another with cheerful smiles and waves. There's almost no street traffic, so the battlers don't have to worry about getting squashed--unless, of course, something nasty goes down at the lab again and necessitates the intrusion of speeding police cars and ambulances on their way to see whether Professor Willow's managed to get out of this one alive.

Metronome x3

By the way, is chilling also banned? I don't really intend to even if it is allowed (where's the fun in that?), but just wondering.

Yeah. Actually, I couldn't really decide whether or not to designate this match no-energy or not... there's problems either way, really. This way, someone could get totally screwed because they pull up a tasty 25%-energy recover; otherwise, though, there are some attacks that have little/no use whatsoever... of course, those are kind of to be expected with a metronome battle, but eh.

Don't take that lying down, Silver. Retaliate with... metronome!

Metronome x3

(This battle is going to be such a waste if Willow Town doesn't end up in flames, partially flooded, and riddled with gaping fissures.)

Negrek and Kratos Aurion step onto a long, wide stretch of pavement, several metres away from each other. There are, for whatever reason, no vehicles in sight; it seems that most people are content to simply stroll on the sidewalks, enjoying the calm, cool day. Massive willow trees grow alongside the sidewalks, large green fronds dangling from the branches. Between the trees, small stores line the sidewalk, with friendly open doors and large windows displaying their merchandise. All in all, Willow Town looks like a friendly, welcoming place to be, and perfect for raising children.

Hopefully, by the end of the battle, at least half of it will be destroyed.

Acting suitably dramatic and enthusiastic for the opening of what may be the most destructive battle Kutho has ever seen, Negrek tosses a pokéball in the middle of the street. It splits open and spills out a brilliant white light, which forms the shape of what looks vaguely like an egg wearing a crown. As the light fades away and reveals the pokémon, it becomes obvious that the initial impression isn’t totally off; a togepi looks around, smiling cheerfully. A couple of teenagers by the side of the road glance at him and exchange stricken looks. They quickly walk off.

Most of the pedestrians, however, ignore the trainers and pokémon and go about their business, although a few with nothing better to do stop to watch the battle. On Kratos Aurion’s side of the road, a smoochum materialises. (At this point a young girl squeals over how cute they are, and several pedestrians lose interest, not interested in watching a battle involving two baby pokémon.)

After both exchange completely unpredictable and identical orders, a few of the bystanders start to catch on, feeling a bit unsettled. But that’s completely irrational, some tell themselves – there’s no need to assume the worst, when there’s so little chance of that happening.

Right?

.: Actions :.

Aldonza waves her stubby arms from side to side, slowly and carefully until she sets into a comfortable rhythm. Her arms glow a soft white, which quickly becomes clearer and more distinct as she continues waving her arms. A black liquid seems to trickle out of her mouth as she keeps waving her arms, but when the droplet falls through the air, it disperses before hitting the ground. She runs at Silver, jaw muscles suddenly feeling strangely powerful. It doesn’t change the size of her mouth, but she opens her mouth as widely as she can, and snaps her jaws on one of the spikes growing from Silver’s head. He squeals, flailing his arms, until she lets go. The bite marks are deep, and blood mixed with some black liquid leaks from the wound.

Aldonza spits on the ground, disgusted by the taste.

Silver frowns at the throbbing and burning in his headspike, but he still determines that it’s not getting any worse. With a small pout, he waggles his own stubby arms back and forth rhythmically. His arms, too, start to glow, and Aldonza notes, with some satisfaction and questionable accuracy, that her Metronome-hand-glow was brighter. Silver’s eyes start to water and his throat burns suddenly; his mouth opens as widely as Aldonza’s did, and darkness spews from his mouth. However, unlike Aldonza, Silver doesn’t move, save for breathing out more loudly and powerfully than usually necessary.

Black smoke rushes out of his mouth, spreading outward quickly and enveloping both pokémon before anyone can register exactly what’s going on. Though not impossible to see each other through the smoke, it’s only made more difficult by the stinging and watering of their eyes. Coughing, Aldonza starts to wave her hands back and forth, trying not to let her coughing disturb the rhythm. It takes just slightly longer than usual to generate the usual white glow, clearly visible through the smoke, and Aldonza feels a great power welling up within her. She raises her hands dramatically, staring at Silver with wide eyes… and suddenly descends into a coughing fit.

Silver squints at her curiously, wondering if something is happening… but, after Aldonza recovers without spitting anything dangerous at him, he waves his arms back and forth, hands becoming two cones of slightly dimmed white light waving through the air. It could be almost hypnotic, if one was to look at it long enough – but Aldonza doesn’t get the chance. Silver charges at her, raising one tiny hand, and slaps her cheek with as much force as he can muster, or perhaps even more power than he could usually gather. That must be it, Aldonza thinks, wincing – there’s no way the stupid togepi could physically hit her with enough force to actually hurt.

Silver is the one to back off when Aldonza starts her own Metronome, watching the glowing appendages curiously. A bright spark pops off Aldonza’s arm, and she stops, closing her eyes. She can feel electrical energy building up inside her, some of it appearing as sparks or crackling tendrils on her skin; mostly, though, the electricity remains inside, ready to be unleashed at any time.

After another long pause where he once again expects a great attack that never comes, Silver waggles his hands back and forth until his hands glow. He continues waving them even as the smoky air seems to twist and morph strangely, although only Aldonza can see it; she squeaks when she thinks she sees a massive claw swiping at her, but once she blinks, it’s gone. She also thinks she sees fang-lined jaws snapping just short of her out of the corner of her eye, but when she looks, she sees that once again, she was just seeing things.

The dark hole opening up in the air near Silver, though, cannot be written off as imagination. Pure darkness spills forth, rushing toward her much like the smoke had, and enveloping her completely. Distant screams and haunting howls fill her ears, but when she looks around, it’s even harder to see than through the smokescreen – she’s totally blind. Panic begins to rise up within her, especially when she hears a low growl behind her. She whips around to look, but even if there is something there, she can’t see it.

Silver barely even has to look down at Aldonza’s body, being as short as he is, to see her sleeping on the ground. He smiles innocently and sits down by her side, waiting for his next orders and resisting the urge to mess up her hair.

As Aldonza continues to sleep, Silver waggles his hands rhythmically, entire body swaying with the motion of his arms. With Aldonza already right in front of him, he doubts he can miss even if he managed to summon a Horn Drill. The electricity coming off of her body make her more visible, too. As his hands shine with white light, an orb of the same light appears in front of him. It takes on a form not too different from the shape of his body, but much smaller. Then the egg floats down to the ground and topples over in front of him.

Silver picks it up, taps it against his shell to crack it, and peels off the shell. Then he bites into the egg, chewing very loudly, and continues eating it without fear of interrupted. He makes a point to pour all of the yolk into his mouth before finishing off the egg, and licks his lips. Then he sighs, content. Delicious! The egg was practically bursting with flavour! He doesn’t realise it, because he’s all but forgotten the pain in his head, but his wounds are closing.

He then glances down at Aldonza, confirming that she is still asleep, and uses Metronome once more. This time, when his hands start glowing, he sees something behind him glow too… but when he turns, there’s nothing there. Aldonza sighs and turns away from the light shining from Silver’s butt, causing Silver to turn around again in alarm – but Aldonza doesn’t wake up. Silver blinks, confused; he doesn’t notice anything happening. Except he does feel a little more energised, just a little bit stronger, but he doesn’t exactly know why.

Probably just a Metronome thing, he decides, and uses it again to see what will happen next. A pink square suddenly appears before him, in between him and Aldonza. He blinks again, wondering what it is, and leans forward to poke it. It’s difficult, but not impossible, to stick his hand through, but it’s also a fairly slow process. It’s some sort of defensive move, then, he decides, and pouts. He wants to destroy something already!

Silver notices that there are no longer any sparks coming off of Aldonza’s body, at least so far as he can see through the energy wall, but doesn't really care. Mass destruction! He must have his mass destruction. The ability to potentially do anything means nothing if he can't destroy everything with it.

Silver, not quite sure what his trainer’s comment means, tries to turn around and look at his butt – an impossible task, as it turns out. Giving up with a pout, he turns back to Aldonza, watching her for signs of waking up. She’s in a slightly different position from before, but he can’t tell through the smoke, so he just waves his arms until they glow as brightly as his behind. His entire body glows red, and a strange, foreign feeling overcomes him. He raises a paw to examine the glow, noticing that he’s moving rather slowly, although he also feels a bit stronger. The glow fades, but the feeling doesn’t disappear with it.

With a yawn, Aldonza sits up, drawing Silver’s attention. She blinks, seeing nothing, but she finds Silver easily when she turns around – not only is he very close, but the light shines easily through the smoke. She also notices the barrier, but decides there’s not that much she can do about it barring chance, and waggles her arms in another Metronome. A light, cold breeze drifts through the street, and ghostly apparitions in the vague shape of humans and some pokémon appear all around the street. Then a strong wind blows through the street, howling eerily in Silver’s ears, tearing the smoke away as the ghosts charge at him, raging and trying to punch, bite, and claw at him. The ghosts scream at him, accusing him of killing them, but their flailing limbs just pass through him, and they each only get one chance, being carried away by the wind with the smoke. A few shout encouragements at Aldonza on before disappearing.

Silver blinks, wondering what they could have meant by their hurtful words – he doesn’t remember hurting any of them, especially not with glowing green meteors! They didn’t manage to hurt him, physically, but he wishes he knew what he might’ve done to them. It’s unfair for him not to remember doing something so awesome. Aldonza, too, wonders what the heck was going on – with the absence of smoke, she could clearly see that the spirits were angrier than usual. Even if they did fail completely at what she wanted them to do.

After a pause, Silver uses his own Metronome, hands glowing as usual. This time, though, electric sparks fly off his hands as he continues to wave them, and electricity leaps between his hands, crackling in his ears. The sparks are joined by more and more sparks of electricity, and the electricity that leaps between his hands continues to grow more powerful. Finally, a large bolt shoots from between his paws and through Aldonza. Aldonza twitches, falling to the ground in convulsions, unable to muster the breath to scream.

Silver smiles. Now that is more like it.

Aldonza weakly gets back to her feet, shuddering. The pain only lasted a few seconds but felt like so much longer, and for a second there she’d thought she had completely lost control over her muscles. Waving her arms again, she takes in deep, calming breaths. The rhythm of the Metronome is just as helpful. Green and blue flames surround her, swirling around her body, but they don’t harm her at all. She leaps at Silver, legs pushing against the pavement with more power than she’s ever managed, and the translucent barrier shatters when she strikes it. Even with the barrier absorbing some of the force, Silver is thrown off his feet when Aldonza crashes into him, blue flames scorching his shell.

Aldonza slides off of him, satisfied and eager to get out of such an awkward position. Silver needs a few tries to sit up, but manages and gives Aldonza an irritable glare. He’d be more mortified if he could see the hairline cracks in his shell, or the burn, but can only think of revenge. He uses another Metronome, then opens his mouth to spit out several tiny fireballs at Aldonza. Aldonza’s shriek when they hit her is more out of shock than pain, but the sting takes a little out of her satisfaction.

Her attack was much stronger, though, so she feels totally justified in sticking out her tongue.

Aldonza waves her hands rhythmically in another Metronome, and as usual, white light emits from her hands. As she continues to follow the rhythm, her eyes close, and a strange calm seeps into her mind. She lets her body sway with her hands, feeling a deep power well up – perhaps not within her, but she feels a deep connection with it. She can feel it supporting her, comforting her, even though she doesn’t need to be comforted. With this, she thinks, her victory is certain, even more so than it had been before.

Silver looks at her blankly, not noticing anything really happening, so he decides to just attack, hoping that whatever he calls up won’t be too tiring (unless it’s awesome, in which case that’s okay). He uses his own Metronome, but the results of his attack are much faster. His hands glow white, then he runs toward Aldonza, a tiny hand raised.

O mighty Arceus, Aldonza thinks, still swaying, come to my aid. She slowly opens her eyes, staring up at the heavens. Destroy my enemy.

A chill runs through Silver even as he leaps and slaps Aldonza with as much force as he can muster. Although she feels a sudden sting, however, Aldonza barely takes notice – the sheer power she can feel expands, filling every particle in her body. Her eyes glow, and Silver freezes mid-step, in the middle of backing away. He cannot move. It’s as if an irresistible force is pressing down on him, weighing him down, and fear pierces his heart. Her eyes bore into him, stripping away all of his thoughts and feelings and exposing his true self.

“Unworthy,” Aldonza says in a voice too deep and menacing to be her own. The pressure suddenly vanishes, and her eyes slowly return to normal.

A thick white beam of energy suddenly strikes the middle of the road, tearing through the pavement and the road underneath. Silver jumps and turns to it, finding a hole with several cracks spreading out from it. He then looks toward the sky, but doesn’t see the source of the attack.

Then another shaft shoots down, shattering a willow tree, fragments flying everywhere. A man screams as a piece of wood is embedded in his eye, scrambling backward while holding his eye and falling onto the road. His scream is followed by many others as more beams of energy from the sky shoot down, one tearing into the bakery, collapsing much of the ceiling onto the bakers and families inside. Another demolishes the wall of a clothing store, throwing shards of stone and wood onto the street. Two pierce through the roof of the store just beside Negrek, one of them continuing through the wall of the adjacent store. A fifth, sixth, and seventh, piercing through the street yet again. But that’s only the beginning—a mere taste of what’s to come. The beams come quicker with every second, five of them striking down as many stores between them all at once, and countless more.

The beams fall like rain, striking people and their newly-released pokémon alike, riddling the roads and sidewalks and stores with gaping holes. The pokémon have a better time of it than the humans; though the pokémon, generally, are filled with so much pain they can’t remain conscious any longer, the humans are ripped apart from the force of the attack. They trickle out of stores, take a single look at the battle, and flee along with those already on the streets, but their quick action doesn’t save them all. Some who aren’t struck by the beams themselves are instead trampled to death.

Aldonza remains unmoving in the midst of it all, while Silver can’t do anything but watch, eyes wide. He can’t think, can’t pick anywhere to run to – the beams destroy anything in their path, and there’s nowhere to hide. He instead gives his trainer a pleading look, imploring her to return him to the (relative) safety of his pokéball, but just then a single shaft of light pierces through him, shattering the pavement under his feet.

Screaming, Silver falls to the ground, covered in deep burns throughout his body. Cracks spread all over his shell, pieces flying off with the impact of his fall. But, to his surprise, he realises that he’s not really that hurt by the attack, not as much as he expected. It still hurts to move, but he is able to slowly get back onto his feet, though a few more shards of his shell fall to the ground.

With that one last beam of energy, the shafts of light suddenly cease.

Aldonza blinks, looking around at the destruction around her. The street and buildings in the immediate area are torn up, there are a few less trees than before, and it’s mostly clear of living people, not including those obligated to remain here. The referee, trainers, and Aldonza are completely untouched by the attack, but the same cannot be said for, really, anything else. She giggles. She did this! She did this!

Still giddy, Aldonza cheerily uses another Metronome, hoping for something else nearly of that calibre. Instead, though, sparks appear around her glowing arms, and a thin tendril of electricity shoots from her hands and through Silver. Silver twitches, and attempts to take a step to stabilise his footing, but he finds himself unable to move his legs at all.

His hands, though, are mostly fine, for now. He waggles his own fingers, able to set up a rhythm even though his arms sometimes move later than he’d like or freeze for a second. It’s enough for his hands to glow, the signal that whatever he’s doing is working.

Several glowing, teardrop-shaped objects appear floating in front of him, the glow fading to reveal seeds. With a slight, jerky movement of his arm, Silver commands them to form into a small ball. Another wave sends the ball of seeds flying, smashing into her stomach. Aldonza doesn’t even have time to scream before the seeds split and plants shoot forth from the seeds. As if in an explosion, the plants throw the other seeds away from themselves, throwing Aldonza onto her back with them. She thinks she hears something crack when her head hits the pavement, but Aldonza isn’t sure.

After fighting off a sudden wave of dizziness, Aldonza slowly gets up. She wishes she could rub the back of her head to soothe the pain, but her arms can’t reach. Instead, she goes for the revenge route, waving her hands until they glow. Again, sparks crackle around her glowing arms, and an orb of electricity grows between her hands. It expands, blindingly bright and trying to expand and break away from Aldonza’s hold over it. It keeps growing until Aldonza feels she can no longer keep hold over it, and she releases the sphere.

The electric ball rockets toward Silver, knocking him over. Electricity shoots through his body, and he flails on the ground, muscles spasming out of control. He suddenly finds himself having even more difficulty moving, unable to rock himself back onto his feet. But once again, after a bit of struggling, he finds himself able to move his arms. That’s all he needs for his next Metronome, and the paralysis doesn’t get in the way before his hands glow white.

He stares toward the sun, feeling its warmth all over his body. But he’s suddenly more aware of the light against his skin and shell, and the abundance of energy the sun provides. He closes his eyes to get a better feel for it, and reaches out for it mentally, drawing it into his body and directing the energy to his wounds.

His skin darkens considerably (save for his glowing butt), and his numerous burns are quickly replaced with new flesh. All of his broken shell regenerates, but not before Aldonza can see the freshly-healed skin beneath. She gapes, watching all of her work get undone in less than a minute. She grits her teeth, glaring. It’s not fair! Only the fact that he still can’t move appeases her a little bit – but even so, she would’ve liked to see some injuries on him that stayed there.

Around the outside regions of the arena, there are some fresh corpses and fainted pokémon.
- Young plants growing from seeds are scattered all over the road. There are also many shell fragments.

Next Round:
- Kratos Aurion attacks
- Negrek attacks

Okay so that Synthesis totally sucked but the point is hah! Judgment! I destroyed Willow and I should automatically win just for that.

Metronome x3

WHAT. Aldonza pulled off a judgment, and you went with pound? Don't you want your share of the carnage?! Also energy use uh kind of not good, but hopefully paralysis will help us out with that. Good work with the synthesis, though--despite the fact that it kind of didn't help much with the energy.

Anyway, keep it up, Silver!

.: Negrek vs Kratos Aurion :: Round Five :.

1vs1
DQ: Standard week
Damage Cap: None
Banned Moves: Everything but metronome!
Arena: Willow Town

Willow Town is a tragically quaint, pleasant sort of place, which explains how it manages to attract so many murderers, thieves, and really stupid trainers. Its main street is like something out of an old movie: broad and well-kept, lined on either side by little mom-'n'-pop stores, including a bakery, the delicious scents from which waft out into the road. Large willow trees, their dangling fronds swaying gently in an almost imperceptible breeze, run in line with the sidewalks, and the pedestrians strolling around greet one another with cheerful smiles and waves. There's almost no street traffic, so the battlers don't have to worry about getting squashed--unless, of course, something nasty goes down at the lab again and necessitates the intrusion of speeding police cars and ambulances on their way to see whether Professor Willow's managed to get out of this one alive.

.: Actions :.

Encouraged by her trainer’s reaction to her most devastating attack yet, Aldonza quickly waves her hands, settling into a faster rhythm than usual, hoping that it’ll make her attack come faster. It seems to take the same amount of time as usual before her hands glow and she puckers her lips and contorts them in a strange shape. Her lips continue to grow outward, vaguely resembling a beak, and she runs at him, leaping into the air and pointing her pseudo-beak at Silver. She spins like a drill and dives at him, boring into his shell. Silver can barely let out a squeak as tiny fragments of shell go flying and cracks spread out from the smoochum drilling into his stomach; his body won’t let him. Her beak tears through his flesh, splattering tiny droplets of blood everywhere.

His muscles loosen just as Aldonza’s spinning slows down and she pulls her beak out of his body, pushing off of him and rolling onto the street. Her lips soften and return to normal, and she kisses the air several times to make sure it’s really the way it should be. She can’t stand the thought of them being malformed somehow; as soon as possible, she absolutely must check out her reflection just to make sure.

Still lying on his back, Silver’s arms twitch, and he waves in the air, hands starting to glow. Though his feet and body in general still feel stiff and unyielding, he manages to sit up and stand, even bracing himself against the pavement before opening his mouth. Water rushes out of his mouth, slamming into Aldonza and throwing her through the air several metres away from him. Quickly the water slows to a trickle, and Aldonza falls onto her back with a grunt. She winces and stands up, water dripping out of her hair. She knows this must have ruined her appearance, in addition to how much her stomach hurts now. Her hair is being plastered to her face, at least the small bit she could feel – who knows what happened to the rest of it?

Oh dear… she has to end this fast so she can fix it!

She waggles her fingers as usual, and electricity crackles around her body, sparks flying off of her. She can feel the energy rushing through her, building up inside of her, and it keeps growing and growing until she doesn’t think she can hold it in any more. Electricity rushes out of her in all directions, most of it just dispersing in the air before it can reach anything significant, but the electricity shoots through Silver and nearly knocks him onto his back again, if not for the fact that he finds himself incapable of the involuntary movements that would make him lose his balance. He can’t move at all, not even his arms, and even beyond the discomfort of being trapped in his position, all of his muscles hurt. And he can hardly breathe.

Aldonza uses another Metronome, and her hair becomes shinier, passing through what might be considered a beautiful, healthy shine until it almost seems to glow in the sunlight. Then she angles her head, trying to direct a blinding beam of light off of her head and into Silver’s eyes. Although he squints at the brightness, he doesn’t react in pain or anything; as her hair loses its lustre, Aldonza can only assume she angled it wrong.

Silver sucks in a deep breath, suddenly able to breathe – and he doesn’t know how much longer it’ll last. He finds he can move his arms too, so he moves his arms in his own Metronome. The air all around him shimmers, and a shiny golden dome fades into existence around him. He can see through it, though it makes everything look yellower – not unlike that wall he’d put up before, but this one surrounds him. The only real problem (beyond the lack of the destruction and death his trainer ordered) is that he can feel it draining at his energy… and he feels so tired already. He’d really like to take a rest, but he knows he can’t yet.

Okay, Silver, hang in there! It's down to the next round or two--you can do it!

Yeah, Silver, you can do it. Go ahead. Call Draco Meteor. It'll hurt like hell but watching you keel over from exhaustion will be worth it, I think.
