Arena: A field in Holon
A flat, almost completely so, green, thriving field in a supposedly fictional region. Encircling where the battlers will be are odd glowing stones, of a hue of every colour imaginable. Strangely, there are only seventeen stones, though these shift colour every now and then.
There is a legend in Holon, about Pokemon that are not the types they should be, like Psychic Vileplumes or Electric Pidgeots. For a while, this has been only a legend, until such Pokemon where actually found. In Holon, this field is a national park, though small, so destruction is frowned upon, though for whatever reason, Trainers may come to battle, or watch battles here every once in a while.
Not a very smart idea, on the government's part.
Every round, there is an 80% chance of the battling Pokemon spontaneously changing types. Their weaknesses, resistances, and STAB are not the only things that change, however, the Pokemon is coated in an aura of the colour of the type they have changed into, red for Fire, for example, that has a 20% chance of doing 1% damage of whatever type the aura is on contact. These changes fade at the end of each round, though the next round there is still an 80% of a type change. What type the Pokemon changes into is up to the referee.
On the side, there is a small pond for aquatic Pokemon, about twenty feet square and seven meters deep.
Based on the TCG.

Once again, before either Pokemon could make a move, the stones began to shuffle their colours so fast that anyone watching the spectacle would surely get a headache. After a few seconds half the stones were greenish-blue, while the other half were a pinkish-purple. Ed was enveloped in an aquamarine aura and suddenly felt the absurd urge to roar and flap his non-existent wings. At the same time, a fuchsia glow touched the water as Sarae became enveloped in the same colour.
Noting the curious, pulsating energy surrounding him, Ed decided that he had indeed changed type. But his trainer ordered him to ‘get the hell out of the water’ before attacking… The piranha shivered at the thought of flopping about on the ground again, but he pushed his fears out of his mind and steeled himself for a magnificent jump.
On the shore, Sarae was debating on how to attack Ed with a Brick Break when he was still in the water. She could jump in, but that would make her a sitting duck for his own attacks – ahhh. With a throaty roar and splash, a roughly spherical shape rocketed out of the water in a streak of blue, red, and yellow. Ed’s landing was far less spectacular, though, and by the time Sarae had trotted up to him, he was working his gills desperately to draw what oxygen he could from the air. The Sheebit gave a smirk before clenching a paw and bringing it down hard on Ed’s gill. Evidently she had hit a particularly tender spot: the piranha immediately began thrashing about in pain and his eyes, filled with agony and worry, rolled to the general direction of his gills. Sarae didn’t come away unscathed, however: the blue-green aura around Ed had lashed at her when she executed her attack. Ed took no notice and hissed, drawing natural power from the area around him, the force gathering in his open maw and turning into a lime colour. His eyes narrowed into a glare right before the light green orb in Ed’s mouth shot forward in a compact beam, hitting Sarae full on in the face. The light of the attack blinded her momentarily and she squeaked in pain and surprise. Unbeknownst to her, some of the chartreuse colour turned purple before seemingly sinking into her skin.
As the beam died down, Sarae felt a burning claw dig into her insides and winced. She didn’t dwell on it, though, and forcing all protests about her commands, sat back on her haunches with her paws tucked underneath her. She opened her eyes wide, trying to look as unthreatening as possible, and squeaked flirtatiously to get Ed’s attention. And get it she does: the piranha looked in her direction, his expression close to one of wonder. Sarae resisted the urge to scoff at how easily he fell for her feminine superiority. However, when the Sheebit turned her back on Ed for a moment, the fish glared suspiciously at her. First she was pounding away at him in all sorts of excruciating ways, and now she was Mrs. Nice Person? He shrugged and flopped his way to Sarae’s side before lacing his body with a black aura. When his form was completely shrouded by the dark-type energy, he pounded haphazardly at the Sheebit’s body, using fins, teeth, everything he had at his disposal. Sarae squealed in shock and hastily backed away from the raging fish, but the blows were rather half-hearted, the aura not as wounding since nothing had dealt it harm. However, the black energy bit sharply at the pinkish-purple aura around her, causing her to wince and cringe periodically.
As Ed’s onslaught died, the fish resuming his frantic gill-flapping, Sarae looked around her. The glowing stones seemed to be good candidates for a Rock Tomb, but when she extended her supernatural powers she found that they were rooted deep into the ground. Meanwhile, Ed had been charging another yellow-green beam in his mouth. This time, though, the energy wasn’t as intense since part of his concentration was spent studying his opponent’s features.
She’s actually kinda cute, Ed thought, even as he let the beam fly and slam into Sarae’s side. The rabbit-like Pokemon squealed in surprise and focused on the firmly packed ground underneath Ed, intending to rip apart the ground to encase the fish in the earth.
Suddenly, a red flag flew through the air and bonked Sarae on the head. She squeaked in surprise, and losing her concentration for the attack, glared at the referee. The Sheebit then raised her paw in preparation for another Brick Break, but the referee cut her off with a reiteration of the arena’s rules as well as some random rules that nobody cared about. All in all, the tedious monologue took up close to ten minutes.

Brick Break was a critical hit.
Secret Power takes its short-grass form in this arena.
