Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

1vs1 Set
DQ: Standard Week
Damage Cap: None
Banned Moves/Pokemon: Anything but Metronome, so anything that can't learn it isn't allowed; self-KO moves cannot be called
Other: Pokemon start with 150% energy
Arena: Times Square

Times Square is a major intersection in New York, and an important artery of the city. Having existed for over a century, it has become an icon and is a symbol of New York. Many businesses and other landmarks exist here, and the New Year's ball drop also calls this place home. At the center of the square, traffic is heavy as always, and somehow even busier than most other streets. However, judicious string-pulling has allowed a Pokemon battle to take place there. A small circle has been cleared off for the purposes of the battle, and eager spectators ring the arena. Elsewhere, life moves on as usual, albeit with noticeably more traffic police present.

Well, Kecleon's the only Pokémon I have that can Metronome, so Warlock, hit the square!

Don't have to list the sig move since I won't ever be using it

...And Abra's the only one that I can use, so Kine shall take center stage.

Anyway, have at that ridiculous lizard with Metronome!

Metronome ~ Metronome ~ Metronome

Allrighty, let's go! Hopefully, there will be Judgment like Kratos' metronome battle.

Round One: Begin

Thin streams of black billow out from the tips of Kine's spindly, twitching fingers, some tendrils snaking back and coiling around his arm while others stretch outward and twist themselves into wicked-looking talons of ghostly energy. The Abra lifts himself up from the asphalt and floats toward the waiting Warlock; the Kecleon balks and throws up his arms in a defensive posture, but the hefty swing that drags the ghost-claws across his chest leaves him unscathed. The shadow claw passes through Warlock's body with no effect, not even a change in color or elemental affinity and fizzles out as a frustrated Kine pulls back.

Warlock wastes no time in setting his own fingers a-twitching, jerking them back and forth to the catchy jingle looping ad nauseam in his head. After a few seconds of repetitive ticking the chameleon's body takes on a dark aura and the music in his head gives way to an inexplicable feeling of anger and irritation--he has come to the sudden realization that Kine has done something, something that he needs to be punished for. The problem is, he can't quite figure out what that something might be; the only attack the psychic-type has attempted so far doesn't seem to have done anything, after all. Still, might as well rough the little punk up some. He's got to be planning something, and that's worth at least a mild beatdown, right? Warlock's fingers cease their twitching and curl into fists and he runs forward, colliding with Kine and pummeling his body with a series of rapid-fire punches and kicks. Each impact, combined with the dark energy still cloaking the Kecleon's scales, leaves a few black burns and bruises on the Abra's yellow skin.

A now wide-awake Kine retreats quickly, levitating a few feet off the ground and hustling back a safe distance. When he is certain that he is well out of the Warlock's reach he settles down, extends his fingers and begins wagging them to and fro a second time. He shuts his narrow eyes and rattles off a quick prayer under his breath, hoping that luck will be a lady tonight and give him an attack that will let him pay that pesky lizard back in full; luck, unfortunately, decides to remain decisively snide and un-ladylike, drawing only faint sparks and a golden glow from the Abra's fingers. Kine's hair stands on end as a brisk charge runs through his body, but other than that the metronome produces nothing of any consequence.

His frustration and disappointment fades somewhat, however, when he sees the brilliant orange lights waving around Warlock's fluttering fingers. The light spreads to his yellow lips and he opens his mouth, revealing a swirling ball of fire; a flick of his tongue sends the fireball sailing forward, across the dark pavement and straight for Kine. Tongues of flame stretch out into five long arms as the projectile draws closer to its mark, finally forming a great, blazing kanji character right as it collides with Kine's chest. The electrical charge still coursing through Kine softens the blow somewhat, but the fire blast still leaves even more dramatic black marks on the psychic-type's body--no serious burns, but a lot of heat and painful hair loss for sure. Any and all requests for the favor of Lady Luck go out the window as the Abra snarls vehement curses under his breath. Warlock sits back and watches him fume, literally and figuratively, with a grin on his green face. He likes this metronome thing.

Kine's fingers twitch and jerk faster now, the Abra willing giant meteors or volcanos or a massive thunderstorm to burst free from his hands. The fury inside of him builds higher and higher as his fingers move faster and faster, boiling up from his tail to the tips of his ears until he just can't take it any longer--the puzzled pedestrians gathered around the police tape all cringe as a wild, primal howl of rage rips out of Kine's throat. Even Warlock is startled to hear such a fearsome noise coming from the mouth of such a sedate, mild-looking creature, and the howl almost puts him off of his game. When the screaming stops and Kine realizes that his howling has only resulted in a bit of an adrenaline rush and not in Warlock's fiery death, however, his sour mood returns with a vengeange; the chameleon, sensing this distress, smirks and resumes twirling his little claws. His wide eyes glow a furious red, and Kine flinches, expecting more fire; all that comes shooting his way is two simple beams of scarlet light that sweep harmlessly over him. His nerves tingle slightly as the red light tugs gently at his skin, but all in all the foresight has precious little effect. Kine sighs, relieved to have come away from this latest exchange unscathed.

Ref's Notes
-Kine's attacks: Shadow Claw, Charge, Howl
-Warlock's attacks: Payback, Fire Blast, Foresight
-Sorry for the lack of semi-interesting introductory paragraph (and lack of semi-interesting description, for that matter), but I am busy and uninspired and so in the interest of actually getting this started for you I just glossed over it.
-MurrMurr attacks first next round.

Late DQ warning for MurrMurr; I'm pretty sure the absence sheet post he made doesn't apply anymore. 24 hours.

...not that Prettzel seems to be around either... >|

MurrMurr is disqualified and the match (if you can call it that ><) goes to Prettzel. No one gets any experience, Prettzel gets $8 and I get $5. Bah. I know I was running on a tight schedule, but this looked like it was going to be fun. Thanks a lot. >|
