• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Happy Birthday, Butterfree (and Negrek, too)!

Re: Happy Birthday, Butterfree! Happy birthday both of you :)

    Ageism

Yeah, but that kind of generalisation is hurtful, and it's especially silly on the internet. If people's (voluntarily listed) ages weren't displayed on this site, people would have to judge a person's posts purely on the quality of their argument, rather than how old they are. Anyone who's...

    Ageism

I'd argue that being able to make your own decisions was a privilege. I get that you think that kids should be listened to when they try and talk about things happening to them, but not everyone does. Pretty much everyone I've ever talked to about being bullied as a child has said that adults...

    Ageism

Refusing to take someone's experiences seriously because they're a kid is a kind of scummy thing to do. From what I've seen of Social Justicing, the cardinal rule seems to be 'don't inflict your privileged experiences on people - listen to what they have to say', and yet everyone does it to...

The QUILTBAG Club (formerly the LGBT club)

But how can lesbians have proper sex? If sex doesn't involve a penis, it doesn't count! If it was good enough for Queen Vic, it's good enough for us! Seriously though, this is also why there's no age of consent for lesbians, and I'm pretty sure British law doesn't recognize non-consensual sex...

The QUILTBAG Club (formerly the LGBT club)

Wheeeeey, that's great! :D We're actually a whole bunch closer to marriage equality in the UK now; the bill passed through the House of Commons with a pretty big majority the other day. It's actually really strange, because lots of the Tories I have a special dislike-chamber in my heart for...

    The "Fwee" Thread

Got through a phone interview today! :D I don't have the job yet (there's a couple more tests then an in-person interview), but I successfully got through the part combining the terror of an interview with the awfulness of talking to a stranger on a phone*, so I'm feeling good. *the job I'm...

    Pokemon X/Y

Maybe there'll be a new Girly-type and then all the icky pink and/or flowery Pokemon can be grouped together under a banner, and all the proper (not-Girly) Pokemon can be all the other types!

    Pokemon X/Y

Only so I could breed the everloving heck out of it. When I get one (either gender), I'm going to call it SwirlyDave.

    Pokemon X/Y

The French name is something from 'nymph' which sounds a bit Bug-y, but probably more faerie-y. By the gods, I've missed wild mass guessing like this :D

    Valentine's Day

My best friend and I always send each other valentine's cards and/or presents, and I'll send cards to other friends if I have the time (I basically invented Galentine's day before Leslie :D). The two traditional romantic-gift-giving times of year (valentines and anniversary) fall right around...

    Ageism

The thing that springs to mind for me is that I am super, super pro lowering the voting age to 16. Or maybe even younger, but it's ludicrous that you can be old enough, in the eyes of the law, to work/pay taxes/join the army/die for your country and yet not have a say in how the country is run.

Would you like to have children?

I dunno. Kids are expensive, yo. (as in, to keep, rather than obtain. Although, thinking about it, obtaining them would actually be really expensive as well. Boooo)

    Pokemon X/Y

The more I think about it, the weirder it feels that there's a frog starter. I know Pokemon designs and evolutions aren't a shining example of sense or logic, but frogs are the final stage of actual, real-life closest-thing-to-Pokemon-evolution. Maybe it'll evolve into a giant, badass tadpole.

    Problems with America

From what I've read, two of the worst problems affecting America - obesity and lack of heathcare - intersect in horrible ways. Not only do people who have one of the many obesity-related diseases not get medical help (especially since, like Datura said, those worst affected by obesity tend to be...

    Epic Pokemon Screenshots

I don't have a screenshot, but I always thought that Sailor on the SS Anne who accosts you as soon as you walk into his cabin with 'I like feisty kids like you!' was super creepy. Although not as creepy as this guy:

People insisting on saying 'I could care less'. And institutionalised racism.

Do You Like To Wear Shoes?

I have excellent boot-slippers that I love wearing around the house because being barefoot is rubbish :( Barefootedness is especially bad in winter because the kitchen and bathroom floors are so cold, but even the rest of the time you might kick a table leg or stand on lego and who wants to take...

What do you look for in Video Games?

Aaaaaaah Butterfreeeeeee play the Zero Escape seeeeeries :D I like my games different for different things. I like to have some pick-up-and-play games on hand for when I'm bored in a waiting room (Tetris/Theatrhythm), I love a good multiplayer that's fun for all without requiring an insane...
