• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    Regional Lockout

Get three to a GAME shop! I don't know how much they'd be selling Lites/base DS consoles for, but I got my PSP there for £30 and I think the 'aaaaaah we're probably being shut down!' sale is still sort of on, so I doubt it'd be too much. If nothing else, having a GBA slot for uploading Pokemon...

    Regional Lockout

Not nessesarily even untranslated - there are some games that are freely available in the US but never made it to Europe so UK gamers can't play it even though it's already in their language. This was most frustratingly done with Tales of the Abyss for the PS2, but happily it's been rereleased...

The QUILTBAG Club (formerly the LGBT club)

It is. Wouldn't advise anybody to look at the comments unless they want a headache though. I agree hugely in prinicple - decreasing ideas about gender sterotypes, especially in kids, is a wonderful idea, but I'm not sure how much I can get my head around "stopping free playtime".

    Voting USA 2012?

Aah, Marine Le Pen. Slightly less mental than her father. (she only wants to bring back capital punishment, rather than deny the Holocaust happened) Still, I think their system is preferable to ours. ETA (literally in the couple of hours that've passed between me posting this): The scummiest...

    Voting USA 2012?

Mmm, and in fairness, the LibDems did try the vote reform. Which failed (in no small part because the Tories and Labour threw their full weight into telling everyone that it would cost more money than has ever existed), but my family and I were watching coverage of the French election that's...

    Voting USA 2012?

I have a similar thing in my local election. My constituency is almost 50% Conservative and 50% Liberal Democrat (The Tories are in at the moment, but got there by a margin of about 400 votes). I voted LibDem because a) our local LibDem MP is actually pretty cool, and b) I hate the Tories and...

The QUILTBAG Club (formerly the LGBT club)

I think situations like this are an awful, horrible balance between feeling allowed to be who you are, and feeling safe. I'm not a brave person, so I think I'd probably hide until I wasn't dependant on my parents (well, your dad) anymore and try to get away from home as early as possible. I...

    Doctor Who Club

Ahaha, me too. I have a friend who knows some people who were just chillin' in a cafe in Cardiff one afternoon a few years ago, when someone from the BBC came in and said "We're doing a scene for Torchwood just down the road; if you fancy it, you get to run around screaming for a bit" so they...

Oh my gosh, the Doctor Who Experience is the most fun, isn't it? I'm so pleased that when I went it wasn't a school holiday or anything so there weren't lots of kids, so I didn't have to give flying the TARDIS over to them or anything, because I probably would've fought them for it :p My...

    Voting USA 2012?

I've had this knocked into me by my parents from an early age, but even if you disagree with both/all candidates, it's still important to go along and vote, even if it's to spoil your ballot. It's so important to have a say in something like a national election that 'none of these people...

    Avatar is back.

The two episodes I've seen are absolutely brilliant and I love them and can't wait for more... but I cannot and will not get over giggling like a ridiculous person every time I see the intro-thingy. BENDERS AND NON-BENDERS LIVING IN HARMONY. It was pretty funny in Avatar (called Avatar: The...

    Pet Peeves?

I was too busy raging about drivers before to notice this, but while we're politely pointing things out, even 'flattering' racial stereotypes are incredibly harmful. The social conception of black men, that they're sexually aggressive, predatory, and out to rape white women is hugely damaging...

    Pet Peeves?

This. aka THE ENTIRE (car driving) POPULATION OF CANTERBURY. They also seem to not understand that, at a zebra crossing, you are legally obliged to stop to let a pedestrian cross. It's not Europe, it's not a suggestion, a place where pedestrians may choose to wait for a gap in traffic. If...

    Hunger Games Discussion

I've only seen the film (I have plans to read the book(s) while lying in the sun in my hammock over the summer), but I'd agree completely with this. The handheld camera bits annoyed me an awful lot. I really enjoyed the film itself, but didn't like a lot of the direction.

    Parental love.

I know adoptive parents who're absolutely excellent and love their kids every bit as much as parents with biological children. People are great and 'doing stuff because our genes tell us to' is rubbish. It's likely I won't be biologically related to any hypothetical kids I may have, but I'd love...

    Doctor Who Club

Yeah, I was pretty unsurprised by the revelation that she's played by a pretty, skinny, white young British woman. I hope she's from another time/place, and I'd quite like her to be unrelated to the Ponds. Also, there's a rumour going round that Moffat's planning to cast a woman to play the...
