• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

I am in the last year of my undergraduate degree. I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life. :D Possibly become a palaeontologist. Or go into evo-devo. Most likely I will hang around Cambridge another year doing an MSci in history and philosophy of science, because it's fun and I...

Oh, absolutely creepy. Earth AU is a very apt way of putting it. Is the Creation Museum Ken Ham? Because, oh man, Ken Ham.

    Question about cultures

Okay, er, what. How is Russia currently panslavic? More to the point, how is Serbia panslavic (and, if you know Yugoslavia doesn't exist any more, why on earth did you mention it?)?

I've just spent my evening reading creation science papers. It is incredibly surreal. Some excerpts: "Since the Cenozoic was deposited after the Flood..." "First, the extinct human taxa are entirely post-Flood (Snelling 2009, chap. 94; Whitmore and Garner 2008; Wise 2005). They do not...

    A Survey of Favourite Things

Sofia Coppola! Sofia Coppola is fantastic and frankly that list is remiss to exclude her. And there are a couple other reasonably well known. I mean, yes, the situation is horrific. But there are a few women out there directing films, and I think it's getting better.

    Holiday wishlists?

Well, I just got a Wii U, which I suppose is a Christmas present to myself. My Christmas present to my mother is paying for my flights over to Japan to spend the holidays with her. :P All my other friends are getting poetry. :D

What T.V Shows are Nostalgic to You?

Hey, Animals of Farthing Wood aired worldwide, as far as I know, and is definitely one of my most nostalgic memories.

    Child Discipline

I really don't think people were discounting their opinions because of their age. Or rather, not because they thought their age made them incapable of making good points. But I don't think it's unreasonable to point out that it's strange that the only people in support of physical discipline are...

So I made my college's University Challenge team. I am probably way more excited about this than I should be.

Your Top 10 Favorite Albums, Take 2

I am going to do my very best not to just list albums by artists I like, but rather albums I like as a whole. And only one per artist or it would be about half Pink Floyd. 1. Wish You Were Here/The Wall by Pink Floyd; usually the former, but it changes. 2. Trans-Europe Express by Kraftwerk 3...

    Greatest Fears/Phobias

Not actually true. Venom delivery against large animals might be inefficient, but they are certainly capable of killing adult humans. (Though obviously children are much more likely to die of spider bites.)
