• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    Mass Crossover Planning Thread

It would be possible to have a mix of canon and original characters. Some things just lend themselves towards original characters in any case. I think for the most part we've used some sort mix and it's worked out fine. I'm all for something in-between like Raikou said. It doesn't sound like...

What do you call sugary, carbonated, unhealthiness?

A common conversation in this part of the country: "I want a coke." "What kind?" I myself use the term soda, though.

    Mass Crossover Planning Thread

I like where we're going with that. We should be vague about the disaster itself. Maybe even go for the old trope of figure out what happened. In any case, I like the idea of having to put the pieces back together after whatever happened, happened. How would the world be structured, though? How...

    Mass Crossover Planning Thread

I don't know either, however I think it's got a good chance as long as there are enough people who are familiar with it. This is why I did not limit my King of Fighters crossover RP to only fighting games, I did not gauge how much people were aware of them and assumed that it was not well known...

    Mass Crossover Planning Thread

About every six months or so (more or less, I think it averages out), we at this forum attempt another mass crossover. The cooldown is close to running out, and since I don't have much left to do this month, I figured I'd get together another one. There has been a planning thread for Smash Bros...

    Idea Center: Part Deuce

If I can squeeze some time in after finishing up the other final things I've got this semester, I'll put one up. If it's not up by this weekend, assume I have given up.

    Idea Center: Part Deuce

Winter break is coming up and I just finished a major paper. I've been lurking around here and it doesn't seem like much is going on. I kinda feel like starting something. Reading old RPs for the umpteenth time has given me an itch to try and restart one of my old ones. If anyone remembers them...

Trying to get a new desktop

Dual core is cheap enough that I'd call it a near industry standard for prefab computers nowadays. My $400 laptop from 4 years ago has one. Running TF2, Minecraft, and Portal can be run on good settings on a $400~ desktop that you build yourself. Graphics cards are especially easy to...

    Your Favorite Anime?

Aria (the Animation, the Natural, the Origination). There hasn't really been many shows quite like it. I am pretty sure this is a genre-definer for slice-of-life shows. Beautiful, pleasant, just great for taking a load off.

Playing the original GB games just don't feel right...

N64 emulation is pretty sad. I was thinking of selling mine too, my stack of games isn't too bad. I have still Banjo-Kazooie, didn't think it was particularly rare.

Playing the original GB games just don't feel right...

The only one of the GBC generations I've got left is Red in cartridge form. I've emulated Crystal (never owned it before) and all I can say is, we humans put a lot of value into touching and feeling things, this is definitely a case of that. Luckily, I've still got my GBA (not SP even!)...

    Sasuke/Ninja Warrior

I used to watch it a lot, but now I don't have cable or satellite... Ever seen American Ninja Warrior? The format is a bit different, but it's got a lot of the same stuff.

    Magic: the Gathering Club

I went 4-1 at the prerelease I went to, playing Selesnya. My pool had 2 Selesnya Guildgates, 1 Azorius Guildgate, 1 Hallowed Fountain, and 2 Transguild Promenade, along with a Selesnya and Azorius Keyrune, so I had my colors super fixed. I opened an Isperia to act as bomb #2. The meat of my deck...

    Magic: the Gathering Club

Probably going with Selesnya at the prerelease. Haven't really been brewing new deck ideas, so I'll just see what I can add to G/W humans. Fencing Ace might be worth a shot now that we have Rancor again. Vraska looks amazing. Got the gears turning in my head over a new Junkwalkers deck (W/B/G...

    Magic: the Gathering Club

You pose a good point. But then that got me thinking, since Magosi bounces itself, why not just play it twice in one turn to accelerate the process? Cards like Ley Druid let you untap it as soon as you've put a counter on.

    Magic: the Gathering Club

Magosi is great because Wizards tried their hardest to make it not work, and it really doesn't except through convoluted processes. Along with all that, you need some way to play extra lands, otherwise you won't really go anywhere. Exploration is way out of your budget. Walking Atlas, perhaps...

    [Open] Lavani Devoured

Name: Velian Kolar Species: Human Gender: Male Mana Colors: Blue, Red, Green Appearance: A thin man standing around 5' 10", with frizzled, graying hair, and dark blue eyes. He looks aged, yet still energetic. He is usually still seen wearing an Izzet outfit, a red and blue robe adorned with and...

    Magic: the Gathering Club

Just note that Vintage and Legacy are both rather expensive formats to get into. (I talked a bit about my own forays into Legacy in my opening post) That is, if you want to build a deck that can actually beat someone. If you just want to mess around without having a thousand dollar collection...
