• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

I know for a fact that poison damage at least does count towards it.

If we go by body type though, we still have bugshrooms attracting crabs and the like.

Other? Maybe split that into a couple of others, as well, rocks and something else? I don't know.

How about only a mammals/fish/plants/birds/reptiles-amphibians/other kind of division where only those in the same group could work? It'd be less restrictive than egg groups but still restrictive enough to nerf Attract. Or at least it seems like it'd work to me, anyway.

Sounds like a good idea and it would save me from writing tons of corny Attract dialog

Correct. The evolution screen has an ability drop-down.

Doduo and Dodrio are highly adept at jumping, hence them being able to learn Fly (Sky Jump in Japanese), but they probably shouldn't be able to fly.

And in the anime too, actually. And Musharna ought to be the same, for the same reasons.

    Yeah, that's not too likely.

DW abilities were allowed in the Isshu Exchange thread, since is was a special occasion. EDIT Ninja'd for the first time ever.

With the 'Dex Registry closed, what do we do to submit fakemon? I have two completed battles now so I'd like to get mine approved. Or has that feature been removed?

So come March 4th (6th?) when B/W are released, will we get the Beautiful Scale to evolve Feebas, or will it just stay as it is?

Doublepostderp Will Basurao have Rock Head as a usable ability? I ask only out of curiosity.

No. Evolution items, for all intents and purposes, take effect when the Pokémon is sent out, and the items return to their original trainer at the end of the battle.

At the end of a battle, is it the referee that tags it with 'Completed ASB Battles' and so on? If it is, as I assume, what are the criterion for the different tags? Some are obvious, like 'Ref: whoever', but some, like 'Come from behind win', are more difficult.

Pokéon know all moves they are able to learn through any means, provided it can be transferred to an english main series game. That includes old TMs, Tutors, events, and etcetera.

Will we get to change the abilities of our Pokémon if they get new ones in gen. V? Possibly for a fee or something, I dunno. Also will we get to add new moves and abilities to our ASBdex things in the vein of normal Pokémon? Seems like they'll be considerably disadvantaged if we don't.

And ditto for the case of abilities that cause immunities, I guess. Like my second-favourite ability ever Flash Fire.
