Oh gog, will these two ever settle their gogdamn problem? Well, it's more fun if they don't. And to celebrate this being the fifth match, they'll fight using only Gen V Pokemon, in a five-colored, V-shaped platform. Each round, there's a 45% chance a Pokemon whose name starts with a V (listed below) will randomly attack one of the battlers with an (effective, so no Dream Eating awake Pokemon or using Swords Dance or one of the banned moves) attack from their movepool, and a 55% chance that one of the active Pokemon will turn into one at the end of the round (this effect ends after three actions). Pokemon with names starting with a V are: Vanillish, Vanillite, Vanilluxe, Vaporeon, Venipede, Venomoth, Venonat, Venusaur, Vespiquen, Vibrava, Victini, Victreebel, Vigoroth, Vileplume, Virizion, Volbeat, Volcarona, Voltorb, Vullaby, Vulpix.

Pre-round Notes
There's nothing these trainers seem to like more than fighting each other. Indeed, they've just been discharged from the hospital after their disastrous last attempt - and they're still hiding from Doctor Kaminko. To that end, and to continue their rivalry, they've Teleported into this bizarre place, apparently in a seperate dimension. They're on a very large, grey platform, which vaguely reminds the referee of a Victini. As she approaches the edge, she notes that there seems to be some kind of invisible barrier preventing anything from falling over the edge. Wandering away just in case, she signals for them to send out; a Larvesta and a Sawk form, the Larvesta noticably giving off light as they do. Just in case there should be another explosion she sends out the Reuniclus, and then signals for the battle to begin.

Round 1 Begin!

Looking around in a way that somehow gives the referee the shivers that bad grammar brings her, Hella Jeff locates and glares at his opponent. Then, suddenly, he throws his arms into the air, and the ground under Sunstar begins to ripple. He looks down in concern and suddenly leaps out of the way, just before the ground underneath him explodes, disgorging what appear to be grey rocks which hurl themselves off the edges of the arena and into the void beneath. Sunstar screeches something indignant at Jeff, and then suddenly bursts into flames, apparently completely unharmed. As the referee stares on in disbelief at the flaming bug, it charges at Jeff at the fastest pace it can muster (not very) and headbutts him in the side, leaving him just slightly aching.

In an attempt to get Sunstar away from him, he throws his arms to the sky once more; the ground beneath Sunstar ripples and bubbles and, this time, he doesn't get out of the way in time. The rocks hurl him aside and land in a heap on top of him, leaving him unable to move. A couple of minutes go by where he struggles to free himself, until he finally manages to wriggle out; immediately afterwards, they fade away, leaving him looking increduously at the place where they were. Suddenly the referee notices for the first time that there's no hole or mark to indicate where the attack came from.

Leaving the ref to puzzle over this some more, Jeff once more dramatically throws up his arms. Once more, boulders rip themselves from the ground, leaving no disturbance; once again they bury the Larvesta, leaving him buried. This time, though, he manages to wriggle out significantly faster, and he once again bursts into flames; charging at Jeff, he headbutts him again, and then retreats to a safe distance.

Suddenly, as Jeff looks at his opponent, something very odd happens: his entire body takes on the same color as the arena, and begins glowing with that same-colored light. He begins to change shape, and within a few seconds he has a strange shape with some bizarre hexagon on the bottom. The glow fades away to leave a floating, yellowish insect-thing in his place. He - now she - looks at her new claws with some surprise: it would seem she's now a Vespiquen.

A superficial glance makes this look like a setback, but, YOU HAVE LIFDOFF.

Let's see some acrobatic pirouettes off the fucking handle. If for some reason you're prevented from landing Acrobatics but still can land Power Gem, well, land Power Gem. Switch to Power Gem if you're burned, as well. If they try lowering our accuracy or boosting their evasion, Aerial Ace.

If you hit Acrobatics twice, finish with Power Gem instead.

Round 2 Begin!

Sunstar glares at his newly-Vespiquenated opponent, then begins glowing an even brighter color. Within a few seconds he seems like a miniature sun, and then an enormous jet of flame launches from the front; it spreads out massively and engulfs Jeff, who screams. It seems like an eternity before the attack ceases, but cease it eventually does, and immediately Jeff flits up into the air. She swoops towards Sunstar, who tries to get away; he's too slow, though, and Jeff begins a series of darting acrobatics, slashing at Sunstar at the apex of each one. She's briefly interrupted by Sunstar's second Flamethrower, but when the fire dies away she continues, slicing into her opponent's exoskeleton too many times to count.

When Sunstar uses yet another Flamethrower, though, Jeff decides it's time for a change. When he eventually ceases his firey blast - and the glow begins to return to normal levels - Jeff zips backwards, then raises her claws to the gem on her head. She touches her claws to it and closes her eyes, and suddenly a beam of gemlike energy shoots forth, sparkling and dhimmering in midair; it strikes Sunstar headon, and he screams.

Suddenly, from underneath the arena, a Vanilluxe darts up, hovering in the middle of the arena. It stays briefly motionless, and then begins to inhale; sucking in air through the straw in its head it inflates and expands until it's comically round. Then, with a shocking suddeness, it explodes, engulfing the entire arena in a cloud of ice crystals. This explosion seems far less violent than other explosions the trainers have been subjected to, but it's pretty bad: when the blue cloud fades away, Sunstar is completely unconscious and no longer glowing, and Jeff, now once again a Sawk, is clearly about to drop. Karkat Vantas recalls his Pokémon as the referee - who was safely Protected - makes a feeble attempt to get rid of the Vanilluxe's immobile form.

After a few minutes and with the aid of the League Staraptor, she manages to heave the unwieldy lump over the edge of the arena, and then she signals for the round to officially end.

I know it looks like Blizzard, but that's just because I couldn't think of another non-firey way to describe it, and firey doesn't work with Vanilluxe in my head.

Round 3 Begin!

Jeff moves quickly, holding up his hands and allowing a green, flickering shield to form in the air around him. Vitamin C, the Ferroseed that Karkat Vantas sent out to replace his fainted Larvesta, begins spinning round rapidly, and suddenly a volley of spikes launches out from the spinning form. It dashes itself off the shield, as does the second volley; as she slows down, the shield fades away.

Suddenly, Jeff leaps towards her, his fist glowing a bright white color. He slams into her with massive force, a shockwave rippling out from the impact. He winces as her spikes embed themselves in his fist, and he jumps back; Vitamin C just lies there, aching. After a few minutes, she manages to pick herself up, and immediately launches into another spin; one last volley of spikes is launched at Jeff, this lot embedding themselves in his chest. With a pained cry, he keels over backwards.

As Metallica Fanboy recalls his Pokémon, Vitamin C suddenly glows that same grey color. Her spikes retract, her body becomes shorter and simeltaneously wider, and she becoes generally spherical. When the glow fades, a Pokéball-like creature sits in Vitamin C's place: a Voltorb.

Go, Bastard.

For one thing, make sure you seize any chance to maul dat Voltorb with an Earthquake. It's unlikely, she's probably going to use Magnet Rise, but, should the opportunity arise (or, in this case, do anything but arise), seize the hell out of it.

Otherwise, get your swag on until it sticks, and then, spike with Foul Play.
