We should probably be enjoying the show. But instead we decided to have a Pokemon battle. Oh, how silly we are. Still, we get the cool effect of having the songs played affect the fighting.

A random song will be chosen and played at the beggining of the match. Each song has a set duration, and after that goes up, another randomized song plays. No song will be played twice. If all songs are played before the battle ends, the gig ends, but the trainers stay and finish the battle.

- All Nightmare Long (7 actions): All Pokemon are put to sleep and cannot cure this condition. When this song ends, so does the slumber.
- Cyanide (6 actions): All Pokemon are poisoned severely and cannot cure this condition. When this song ends, so does the poisoning.
- Damage Inc. (5 actions): All battlers take 10% of damage.
- Disposable Heroes (8 actions): No status moves may be used; all Pokemon act as though under effects of Taunt for the duration of the song.
- Enter Sandman (5 actions): All Pokemon have their abilities replaced by their Dream World abilities for the duration of the song.
- Fight Fire With Fire (4 actions): All Pokemon are burned severely and cannot cure this condition. When this song ends, so do the burns.
- For Whom The Bell Tolls (5 actions): All Pokemon are healed of status conditions and may not be afflicted with any new ones for the duration of the song.
- Master of Puppets (8 actions): All Pokemon gain a 10% Substitute at no price of health. When the song ends, any Substitute on field vanishes.
- Nothing Else Matters (6 actions): All opposite-gendered Pokemon become mutually attracted for the duration of the song.
- No Leaf Clover (5 actions): No critical hits may be scored and no secondary effects of moves will activate unless they have a 100% chance to for the duration of the song.
- One (7 actions): All Pokemon are struck by an Explosion and may not move until the song ends.

If any band member of Metallica is harmed by a stray attack, Metallica Fanboy will rip your fucking face off.
Other: Whether the teams are randomized or preset will be left for this challenge's accepters to determine.

Monopole, you’re up! Start calculating optimal strategies for combat.

(Also Squornshellous Beta, since we sent out first, shouldn't the others attack first?)

It's some silly attribute thing about... uh, having an ice cream bowl on your head or something.

Although that's completely irrelevant because I'm sending out Shitfucker.

Okay, first try to keep Megatherium from EQ'ing by using Telekinesis on it. Then, use Trick Room to use your lack of speed to your advantage. Lastly, use Inferno on your floating enemy, unless it protects/somehow you are unable to hit it, in which case use Flame Burst on Monopole.

As for you, Shitty...

Start with a Work Up, unless Megatherium tries to taunt Umbra (in which case, Toxic the little bastard) or you (in which case, get REVEEEENGE).

After that, double Vacuum Wave. Use Mud Bomb on Monopole instead if you're Tormented and he's not protected.

Work Up/Toxic (Megatherium)/REVEEEEENGE (Megatherium) ~ Vacuum Wave/Mud Bomb (Monopole) ~ Vacuum Wave/Mud Bomb (Monopole)

EDIT: ls WHY didn't you take taunt into account asdfgugfiwuctmwicmiwecmwe

Well, nothing like such a wide break.

Taunt Umbra to begin with. Now, in response to that, one Shitfucker will poison your stuff. How very nasty. Pummel him with a Facade barrage to show'em who's the boss.

Of course, there's always a chance Toxic will miss. A minor chance, but it can't go unaccounted for. If it happens, Focus Energy, then Slash the Shitfucker.

Pre-round Notes
Four trainers at a Metallica concert. What do you expect them to be doing? Yeah, I thought they'd be listening to Metallica too. But as it stands, they aren't; a short conversation and a call to the League later, they're preparing for a battle. A referee teleports in, wearing earplugs; she's the only one available, since all the others are actually at the concert and listening to the music. Trying to make herself heard over the screaming fans, the referee shouts for the trainers to send out; a Vigoroth, Metang, Croagunk and Litwick form. Just after the referee finishes arbitrarily assigning teams and team names, Metallica begin singing a song in the background.

Round 1 Begin!

The Pokémon prepare to move, excited about battling at a Metallica concert. However, something's odd about the situation. All the referee notes is that Metallica are currently singing the words "I can't remember anything / Can't tell if this is true or dream" before tuning it out, having ascertained which one it is. She stands well back from the battlers, a precaution that quickly reveals itself to be wise: an enormous fireball suddenly explodes from underneath the battlers, accompanied by an enormous sound that can be heard even over both the singing and the screaming fans.

When the smoke clears, the referee recalls the League Reuniclus, and the shield it had been maintaining to protect the crowd fades away. The battlers are clearly in a bad way, though. Not only are they covered in soot and giving off smoke - barring Umbra, who seems to have escaped entirely unscathed - but they're completely paralyzed.

The panic in the eyes of everyone but Monopole is extremely evident, since the only motion from the four combined is the flickering of Umbra's flame. It is clear that the situation is scaring them immensely, and even Monopole is displaying less machinelike calm than usual.

The referee counts the time away and soon enough, two rounds have passed with absolutely no motion from the battlers. The song seems like it will be ending sometime soon, though, and the referee hopes for something more interesting next time.

Round 2 End!

Explosion (Monopole) - 16% damage
Explosion (Shurinam) - 25% damage
Explosion (Umbra) - 0% damage

Notes
- Just for the record, it'd be a lot easier on me if you'd format your attacks as "Attack @ Target".
- Unlucky with the song there.
- I kind of merged the two rounds into one there. Wait, does that mean I get less money? D'oh.
- Just so I remember, the current speed order is: Vigoroth (90) - Metang and Croagunk (50) - Litwick (20)

Arena Notes
- Metallica are currently playing 'One'; the Pokémon are paralyzed for another action.
- This leaves All Nightmare Long, Cyanide, Damage Inc., Disposable Heroes, Enter Sandman, Fight Fire With Fire, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Master of Puppets, Nothing Else Matters, and No Leaf Clover yet to play.

Next Round
- Grass King attacks
