Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO, Rest, Attract, 1 instant recovery/pokemon, 5 chills/pokemon
Arena: Final Destination (based off SSBB)

Final Destination is the very definition of a classic battle arena. The arena is naught but a large square (35m x 35m) floating in an endless expanse of odd scenery. The use of Dig is not recommended, as you will burrow through the arena and fall. Falling means you take 5% Typeless damage and waste one action attempting to return to the arena (Pokemon that are Inherently Flying/Hovering are immune to this. Likewise, Pokemon that are Consentually Flying/Hovering may ignore the damage, but will still use up one action to return to the platform.). Also, when one Pokemon has at least 30% Health OR Energy more than the opponent, an invisible crowd will chant that Pokemon's name, and as a consequence, the Pokemon will gain a +1 to all stats as motivation. If one pokemon has 30% more Health but 30% less energy than the opponent, nothing happens. This boost does NOT count towards the limit of 6 boosts per stat. Therefore, it is possible to have +7 in all stats in this arena.

Other: If a Pokemon falls off at 8% or less health, the Pokemon is automatically unable to return to the arena and is considered KO'ed.

Signature Attribute: Psychic Power
It is a well known fact that Psyduck have psyduck have the psychic powers in part of their brains, usually unlocked when their headaches are at their worst. This is used as a last resort.

Medium was very interested in this Psychic power as a young Psyduck. He trained himself to harness this Psychic power better than any other Psyduck could. He suceeded, at the cost of having an exremely severe headache all of the time.

Effects: Psyco is part Psychic and Part Water Type. He gets all the resistances and weaknesses that this provides. He also gets STAB for Psychic type moves. However, due to getting a severly bad headache, he takes 3% damage at the end of every Round.

Signature Move: Headache Burst
Medium has trained for years with his trainer on perfecting his psychic ability. One day, he was fighting a Graveler, when it used a rock slide and a rock landed smack bang on the top of his head. He suffered a massive headache, but a massive burst of Psychic energy was released from his head.

He trained this power up after finding out about it. When he has taken sufficient damage, Medium channels all the pain into his head, creating a extremely excruciating headache. This, in turn creates a massive blue pulse of pure psychic energy, pushing anything in his path away.

Type: Psychic / Stat: Special / Base Damage: 15% / Accuracy: 90% / Target: All / Energy: 20% / Effects: If Medium takes more than 10% damage in the last action, he can release a powerful pulse of Psychic energy, damaging all other pokemon on the field. if there are any items that are not nailed down on the field (eg: rocks. scraps of metal) they will be flung about by the pulse. After the pulse has dissipated, he will be severely confused. Duration: 1 action / Usage Gap: 8 actions

Hmmm, lets go with Manzikert. He's probably the most versatile of my bunch.

I'll go with Justin, my Houndour.

Start off with Nasty Plot. After, that use Fire Spin twice. If he protects on either of the last two actions, use Feint.

Hmmm, alrighty Manzi, lets lead off with a Rain Dance to weaken all those moves, shall we?

Then, follow up with Water Pulse, lets hope for some confusion. Try to use the watery-ness to break the Fire Spin. If it gets confused on the first Pulse, switch over to Aqua Tail. That should do nicely this round.

Re: DarthWaffles vs Psymon

The referee stood awestruck at the edge of the arena, watching stars and oceans swirl about in the vortex of space before them. The two trainers stood on either side of her, probably just as astounded. It was an incredible sight to behold, and the referee hoped it wouldn't become a distraction during the battle. Wielding a voice-changing megaphone, she turned around and held it to her lips.

Two holographic platforms appeared perpendicular to the referee, one on each side of the battlefield. "Three..." bellowed a deep, male voice. Holographic portals opened up. "Two..." A Pokemon stepped out from each of the portals. "One..." The opponents regarded eachother and nodded. "GO!!"

ROUND 1

The two opponents held their positions at either end of the arena. Mazikert looked anxiously over at Justin, who had a most devious look on his face. The Houndour smirked but didn't look at the Sentret himself; he was looking off into space, with a twinkle in his eye. Oh, the ways he could tear the little ferret apart, he thought! Such a creature was no match for his all-engulfing flames... Should he cook the Senret in an open flame? Or perhaps rotisserie style?

Manzikert decided to ignore Justin for now and he began his setup. He stood up on his tail and spun around on its tip, waving his paws around in a comically mystic fashion. Summoning an atmosphere above the spacey arena, clouds gathered above their heads and a downpour ensued. Water built in the uneven parts of ground, while the rest ran off the sides of the arena into empty space.

Justin was quickly taken from his happy place after getting soaked. He shook out his fur, though it didn't do any good, and he stood up. Taking a deep breath, he spewed a corkscrewing stream of fire from his jaws straight for Manzikert. Steam seemed to rise over the entire length of the arena as the raindrops made contact with the flames, and by the time the fire reached the Sentret there was not much of it left. The flames twirled around Manzikert, singed his fur a bit, and then promptly fizzed out.

Soaked and covered in soot, Manzikert splashed into a puddle and squealed with all his might. A large sound wave sped across the surface of the standing water in the arena, carrying a wave of water with it. The high-pitch noise filled Justin's sensitive ears as he was doused forcefully with water. His head began to ache, but he could handle it.

Trying in vain to shake out his fur, the Houndour growled at Manzikert coldly. How could such a tiny ferret already have the advantage? Justin angrily threw his maw open again, sending the Sentret's way more twirling flames. Just as before, the thin stream was nearly put out by the time it reached Manzikert. The Sentret shook away the flames easily, sprinkling more water around as he did so.

Determined to take advantage of Justin's acute sense of hearing, Manzikert gave another high-pitched cry into the water, sending yet another high-frequency wave of sound and water crashing into the Houndour. The noise drove into Justin's head like nails being driven into his ears, and the throbbing pain was taking its toll on his focus. Everything around him seemed to pulsate like the aches in his head, and he wasn't quite sure where Manzikert was anymore, or just how many Manzikerts there even were.

Re: DarthWaffles vs Psymon

Hmm, that was a good round, wasn't it Manzi? Yes it was. Let's keep that up.

Simple, use Aqua Tail for all three actions.

Also, use Focus Punch if the opponent confusionfails or doesn't use a directly offensive move. Never use Focus Punch twice in one round though. If you have used it twice in one round, use Toxic.

Aqua Tail/Focus Punch ~ Aqua Tail/Focus Punch ~ Aqua Tail/Focus Punch/Toxic

EDIT: How much longer does the rain last?

Re: DarthWaffles vs Psymon

Probably about three more actions or so. I figure actions = in-game turns when it comes to figuring out how long weather lasts...

Re: DarthWaffles vs Psymon

Ah. Not gone so well, has it. Start with Sunny Day. After that, use Double Team for 5 clones. Finish off with Flamethrower.

ROUND 2

Manzikert bobbed about gleefully on the end of his tail, celebrating successfully confusing his foe. Justin, on the other hand, decided to give up trying to distinguish the Sentret for now. He bowed his head low, concentrating the fiery energy within himself. The Houndour threw his head up and howled, breathing a great flame into the air. The clouds above dissipated and the atmosphere surrounding the floating battlefield took on a sunset orange hue.

Temperatures quickly rose and the standing water of the arena began to evaporate, leaving very little for Manzikert to work with for his attack. Realizing this, he quickly sought out the puddle nearest to Justin. The Sentret scurried to the puddle and whipped it with his tail, swishing it to splash water upon the Houndour and slap him with the tail. Justin growled, annoyed by the wet slap. It still stung, though admittedly it hurt much less than it would have in the pouring rain.

Justin shook the water off and stretched his neck out, feeling the warmth in his fur. This would be a great time to use Double Team! The Houndour crouched briefly, muscles tensed, readying the dash to create his clones... and as he took off he slipped in the puddle Manzikert had just used to strike him with Aqua Tail, and fell flat on his face.

Manzikert took a moment to giggle at the Houndour's flailing before closing his eyes to compose himself. Concentrating all of his energy into his tail, the Sentret's eyes flew open and he lashed out at Justin, with every ounce of musclepower concentrated in the end of the tail. The Houndour flew back and landed with a damp thud. Whimpering, the hound struggled back up onto his feet.

Startling everyone, disembodied voices echoed from the deep space. Enthusiastically they cheered a name: MAN-ZI-KERT! MAN-ZI-KERT! MAN-ZI-KERT!
The Pokemon to whom the voices were addressing felt greatly empowered, his fur bristling with anticipation.

Justin was infuriated with this little ferret now that the crowd was cheering his name. Snarling, he brought the flames within his body to a fever pitch, then threw his jaws open, sending a grand tongue of fire hurtling into Manzikert. The bright flames engulfed the Sentret, burning him much more severely than the fire spins from before had.

Manzikert cried out in pain, desperately seeking a puddle with which to put himself out. Finding one at last, he sprung into it and rolled, dousing the flames. That was going to leave a mark. Readying his final attack, the Sentret swept his tail through the puddle and struck Justin in the shoulder. Justin whimpered and squeezed his eyes shut, anticipating pain... but it didn't hurt nearly as much as he had expected it to.

Re: DarthWaffles vs Psymon

Ok, let's stop this guy now. Start off with Overheat, then use Super Fang and finish it with Reversal. If he tries to use a water move on you on action two, use Protect instead.

Overheat ~ Super Fang/Protect ~ Reversal

Re: DarthWaffles vs Psymon

See Manzi, even the crowds loves you! Let's not let them down. We're protected by the cap, so..

Simple, use three Brick Breaks.

Brick Break x3

Unoriginal commands are unoriginal.

aaaa thanks for pointing that out Darth. I better fix that. I knew something wasn't quite right... basically Justin hit the damage cap around action two.

ROUND 3

Manzikert stopped in his tracks. Why didn't that last Aqua Tail hurt Justin? He took a step back, eying the Houndour with suspicion. Something wasn't quite right, here. The area around Justin appeared to wave, not unlike a mirage in the desert, as he stared Manzikert down furiously. The Sentret took another step back, becoming uncomfortable in the searing heat. Without warning, Justin unleashed a cry that echoed into the empty space, a great wall of fire ripping loose from his jaws. Manzikert had no time to react as he was completely swallowed by the white-hot fire. Justin watched the creature burn with grim satisfaction, though the outburst had left him drained and panting.

The flames finally extinguished, and the Sentret lay outstretched on the floor, fur singed almost completely black. Manzikert struggled back onto his feet, suspecting that perhaps the sun was around the temperature of that Overheat. Justin would get what was coming to him, though, the Sentret was sure. Not giving his opponent a chance to catch his breath, the ferret launched himself at his opponent with his tail, giving the Houndour a left hook to the face, then a right, ending the combo with a front-flip to strike with his thick tail. Justin's head had been pummeled into the ground, his skull-plate dented and his right eye beginning to swell.

The Houndour growled, prepared to strike back. Using his front paws to propel him, he leaped for Manzikert and trapped the ferret in his maw, crushing him with his teeth. His eyes gleamed murderously as Manzikert thrashed and squealed in his grip. Justin's fangs drew blood from the Sentret and just when Manzikert thought he wouldn't be able to withstand the agony, the pain stopped its exponential increase. It still hurt, yes, but he was still conscious.

It was apparent that Justin didn't plan on letting Manzikert go. Deciding to get a handle on the situation, the Sentret used his tail to batter Justin in the side of the head. Wham! Bam! Crunch! The Houndour was forced to loosen his jaws, and Manzikert fell to the ground with a damp thud.

Justin growled at the pile of fur on the ground, blood dripping from his exposed gums. Taking Manzikert by the tail with his teeth, he slung the Sentret into the ground forcefully. Manzikert, however, was simply perplexed, for he couldn't feel a thing even though he knew his body was being slammed against the floor.

Taking advantage of the situation, on the next upswing the Sentret planted three clouts to Justin's ears with his little fists. The Houndour cried out, spitting Manzikert back onto the ground. He landed on his feet and turned to face Justin defiantly, tail swishing.

As the two opponents stared eachother down, the atmosphere around them cooled and the space around them returned to its original deep blue color.

ROUND 4

Justin glared at Manzikert, turning his head to spit some blood from his mouth. He wasn't going to go down without a fight! Tensing his muscles, the air around him began to heat up again. The Sentret took a step back, knowing this time what was coming. Not a moment later, the Houndour shot out an explosive ball of fire, which quickly engulfed Manzikert in flames. The Sentret flailed around a bit, trying to get the flames put out.

Manzikert had an easier time extinguishing the fire this time; it was significantly less hot than before. He launched powerfully forward, applying his three-punch volley to Justin's head. An awful crunch sounded as the third blow cracked through the Houndour's skull plate, causing him to yowl loudly. Justin doubled back, whining piteously. He wasn't going to be able to handle this for much longer...

Justin was heaving, unsure of how much damage he would do this time. Taking in a deep breath, he flared himself up again, spitting out a somewhat smaller ball of flame. The Sentret set fire again, but it went out much more quickly this time, and it was evident that poor Justin was burning out. Manzikert took this opportunity to maul the Houndour some more, slamming his body to the ground.

At this point Justin could barely move. Bruised, bleeding and broken, he attempted to choke out one last Overheat, but it appeared to not affect his opponent at all. The flames somehow were simply repelled from the Sentret, who approached him slowly, swinging his tail. With a spin he gave the Houndour a final thwack, and Justin blacked out instantly.

"GAME!!" the referee shouted through the voice-changing megaphone. "And the winner is... Manzikert!" As the trainers returned their Pokemon, the referee went to each trainer to hand out their prizes, as well as a remote control each trainer could use to leave the Final Destination. Giving the two trainers time to shake the hand and exchange "gg"s, the referee then punched a button on her own remote and blipped away from the arena.

The winner, Togetic, wins $8. Psymon wins $3. And I receive $5. Manzikert gains two EXP, and Justin gains one EXP.

Good battle, guys! Short and sweet. I have to say this didn't turn out like I originally thought it would at the beginning.
