Arena: Outside the Battle Arena

The battle takes place right outside the Battle Frontier's Battle Arena facility, out in the open air. The immediate area is covered in nicely manicured grass and a few flowers. The Arena building itself is surrounded on three sides by water and a small pond sits on the other side of the battlers, so water moves can be used and Water-types that need to swim can do so. The battlers cannot move away from the immediate area, so heading towards the plaza or another facility is forbidden. Maps of the general area can be found on this page.

Since this match is happening so close to the Arena, it seems such a shame not to follow Greta's rules... or, at least, a variation on them. As such, both battlers will send out their Pokémon and attack for six battle rounds (a total of 18 actions per Pokémon) before the ref calls a halt. After the six rounds both Pokémon are recalled and unable to continue in the current battle, and their current health, energy and status are noted for later. Both trainers will then send out their next Pokémon and continue for the next six rounds. At the end (which should be 18 total rounds), the health and energy of all Pokémon is totaled and whichever trainer has the highest score wins.

The following rules also apply:

-If a Pokémon has fainted, either due to HP loss OR energy loss, the battle stops right where it is (even if it has not yet been 6 rounds) and both Pokémon are recalled. Fainted Pokémon DO still count toward the final score, but as either their health or their energy is at 0% they won't add anywhere near as much.

-If, at the end of the 6 rounds, a battler is afflicted with a status condition, that condition detracts from their final score as follows:

Paralyzed, Burned, Confused: -10 points
Poisoned, Attracted: -15 points
Asleep, Frozen: -20 points
If the Pokémon has more than one status condition, only the first one they were afflicted with detracts full points; all others afterwards only detract five, no matter what they are.

Experience is determined like this: all Pokémon get the usual 1 experience point for being sent into battle, and if one Pokémon actually knocks another out it will get the 1 experience point as normal. If neither Pokémon faints at the end of three rounds, the one with the lower score is considered knocked out for the purposes of experience and so the one with the higher score would get the extra 1 exp.

Me uses Fordicia, then.

Mmk. If you're asleep, use Sleep Talk. Otherwise, Substitute for %10 on the first action that you can, and hammer away with Seed Bomb. If you're taunted, just stick to Seed Bomb

Substitute (%10) / Seed Bomb / Sleep Talk x3

Okay, Rook, begin with Fake Out. After that, you should Charm her, and finish off with Assist, just for the heck of it.

Round 1:

The two trainers stand on either side of the battle field. Whivit sends out Fordicia, its Female Turtwig. Meanwhile, Chiropter selects his male Meowth, Rook.

Rook starts off by rushing at Fordicia and appears to fakes an attack, which causes Fordicia to recoil in preparation for the attack, which never hits.

Rook acts very charming and cute, which makes Fordicia a little more reluctant to hurt him. However, Fordicia doesn't need to worry about hurting him this turn, as she forms a rough replica of herself out of the soil. She then channels small beads of energy from her body into the soil statue, which brings the vessel to life.

Rook's left paw began to glow in an orb of light, before a glob of intestinal juices suddenly appeared from within the orb. However the substitute jumped in front of Fordicia, preventing her creator from being hit with the juices. Fordicia then forms a dense ball of seeds in front of her, which then fly towards Rook at high velocity. The seeds bombard his body, as he closes his eyes.

Assist pulled Gastro Acid, which is learned by Ekans
Fordicia flinched on the first action

Okay, use Aerial Ace to try to get rid of that Substitute. If you manage to take it out in one attack, follow up with Hypnosis - if it's still there, hit it with Aerial Ace again. Then, if you successfully put Fordicia to sleep, use Dream Eater - if not, use Swift. If you didn't even use Hypnosis in the second action, do that instead.

Aerial Ace ~ Hypnosis/Aerial Ace ~ Dream Eater/Swift/Hypnosis

Hmmmk. Use Attract, Protect if Rook's going to use Hypnosis and Leech Seed otherwise; Protect if you didn't do so before and Rook's going to use Hypnosis now, otherwise Giga Drain. If you Protected on the second action, Leech Seed on the third action instead of using Giga Drain.

Attract ~ Protect / Leech Seed ~ Protect / Giga Drain / Leech Seed

Round 2:

Rook begins, by jumping into the air at blinding speed, before falling directly in the direction of Fordicia. White streaks of light begin to form behind Rook as he prepares his claws. Just before he can hit Fordicia, the substitute jumps in front on the Grass-Type, and Rook slashes it with his claws. Due to the intense power of the attack, the once living replica reforms itself back into a pile of soil on the ground. Fordicia forms a large golden heart in front of her body, before it suddenly separate into hundreds of smaller hearts, which rush towards Rook. Rook instantly falls for the Turtwig, and starts at her affectionately.

Fordicia begins concentrates, as a semi-transparent half-sphere surrounds her. Rook, as much as it hurts him to attack his beloved, moves his tail back and forth, as rainbow colored rings fade out from the centre of his tail. However, due to the green-tint of the force field, Fordicia doesn't notice these rings, and reflected away harmlessly, before the barrier fades away.

Rook's tail begins to glow a very light yellow, almost white, before he swings it around, and the glow fades, but not before a large flurry of golden stars fly in Fordicia's direction. Rook feels a hint of guilt as his love winces in pain a little, as the stars hit her body before evaporating. Fordicia, although a little upset that the charming Meowth would hurt her like that, especially after he destroyed her substitute, fires a small seedling from the tip of the twig on her head. The seed lands on Rook's back, before it opens and thin vines wrap around his waist and his left arm.

Why's the attraction already mild? That doesn't make any sense. I didn't even use any damaging attacks.

Thanks.

Mmkay, Fordi. Giga drain whenever you can, sleep talk if you're asleep, chill if you can't do either of those for any reason.

Giga Drain / Chill / Sleep Talk x3

No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Rook, you are not going to let this battle degenerate into a soap opera! Not again, you hear me?

So... Begin with a Double Team. Once that's done, try Hypnosis again, then Dream Eater.

If you're still listening more to your hormones than me and don't use Double Team, I'll disown you use it the next action instead of Hypnosis. If Fordicia isn't asleep on the third action, use Hypnosis.

Round 3:

Rook runs around the arena quickly, allowed a little by the vines on his back. When he halts, there are two extra Meowth, with all three standing in a straight line. Fordicia, unsure of which to attack, tried to call energy towards herself from the left Meowth, but all that happened was the clone flickered out of existence. However, the Leech Seed activated, and small orbs of power, floated from the Meowth on the right, towards Fordicia, as the remaining clone vanished, since the illusion had been seen through.

Rook's tail begins to swing from left to right in time, as small hypnosis waves were released. Without anything to block these out, Fordicia's eyelids begin to become heavy, before she falls asleep. Fordicia mumbles something in her sleep. The grass behind Rook quickly grows, until it wraps itself around Rook's hind legs and pulls back, causing Rook to fall to the ground, before the grass began to shorten again. Once again, small orbs of power, floated from the Meowth towards the Turtwig.

Rook, although knowing that it was going to hurt his beloved, began to glow red. The same red aura appeared around Fordicia, as the red aura from Fordicia slowly moved towards Rook. Eventually the red aura disappeared, while Rook appeared slightly refreshed. Fordicia once again mumbled something in her sleep. Fordicia's leaves suddenly glow white. A greenish beam then comes out and hits Rook. Rook and the beam quickly change to a red glow. The beam then goes back to Fordicia and she glows. Then, even more orbs of energy floated from Rook to Fordicia.

Good job, Rook! Don't give in! Use Spite - that should stop any Sleep Talks in the near future - then use Dream Eater again unless Fordicia's woken up by that point, in which case chill. Chill for the last action; if Fordicia's awake at that point, use Hypnosis again, but stick with the chill option if she Protects or does anything else that would completely prevent you from putting her back to sleep.

Spite ~ Dream Eater/chill ~ chill/Hypnosis

Try to get in a Sleep Talk before you're spited, but if you can't, chill, or Substitute for 15% if you wake up. Chill if you're asleep or Substitute for 15% if you wake up, or if you already have a sub, Toxic. Finally chill if you're asleep, Substitute for 15% if you wake up, and Giga Drain if you already have a sub.

Round 4:

Rook, a little upset about Fordicia's last two actions, mutters an ancient curse in his own language. A ghostly aura appears around the sleeping Fordicia for a split second. However, instead of mumbling in her sleep again, she just lies still contently. She soon opens her eyes, and blinks to get used to the light, before standing, facing her opponent. The vines around Rook, then begin to drain a small amount of his health, and transfer it to Fordicia in the shape of small green orbs.

Unable to use his first choice of move, simply lies down, and begins to clean his coat. Fordicia, meanwhile, is pushing the soil into a mound. When the mound is of sufficient size, she begins to model the dirt into a crude replica of herself. When the replica is complete, Fordicia breathes out a green vapour, which is absorbed by the make-shift sculpture. The Substitute then begins to move its legs stiffly. Small droplets of energy are then transferred from Rook to Fordicia.

Knowing that the substitute would prevent anything unwanted getting to its mistress, continues to lick his fur clean. Fordicia's leaves suddenly glow white again. The same greenish beam then comes out and hits Rook. Rook and the beam quickly change to a red glow for a second time. The beam then goes back to Fordicia and she glows. Then, even more orbs of energy floated from Rook to Fordicia.
