Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Barubu vs. ole_schooler

Yay, a ref! Thanks for that.

Ok, Sabriel, you're doing good! Just keep your head in this, all right? Firstly, if that bug decides to create more Double Team clones, I want you to do that Sand Attack trick again. It's okay that you can't hit his eyes; I just want yours to be clear. Now, if he's attracted to you at a given moment and not doing anything, just sit there and Chill. Assuming neither of those conditions is triggered, I'd like you to give him two love nips with Poison Fang, and end with an affectionate Double-Edge.

Okay Kaemelotte, start off with a Megahorn. Now, if that hits, use Close Combat. If not, use Megahorn again. If Close Combat hits, use Earthquake. If Megahorn didn't hit yet, use Megahorn again. If Megahorn didn't hit the fist time but did the second, use Close Combat.

One more round was poised to start. ole_schooler seemed to be playing it relatively safe with the commands -- specially in comparison to Barubu's choice of commanding a stream of extremely powerful and tiresome attacks.

Kaemelotte was rather eager to try his commands out. It looked like a perfect chance to finally impress his object of affection. The only part he seemed to be missing was that he was supposed to hit her, rather than just strike at the air to show off.

Unfortunately for him, Sabriel miscalculated her leap strike while he was firing of his speciality Megahorn. When he heard a loud thud and a painful yelp, he stopped dead and quickly realized what he had done. The heavily damaged Poochyena had been flung a long distance and was trying to nurse the area affected by the attack, which was dripping blood (albeit in a relatively light flow).

The Heracross wasn't even surprised when his beloved gave him an angry glare and then started running toward him (albeit not as efficiently as she should be), which culminated in a leap and a bite to the arm, which injected a minor toxin into the beetle's bloodstream.

Meaning to do no further harm, Barubu's Pokémon backed off and let the hyena be. Noticing that her foe no longer intended to move, Sabriel reluctantly laid down on the grass and rested a spell.

After a couple of minutes of total inaction, the referee gave the signal to end the round.

-----

The stigma from last round carried over within Kaemelotte. He was still deep in regret over actually landing that one Megahorn, and was not very eager to carry out yet another stream of violent moves. Even one milder Brick Break was still not about to convince the Heracross. Specially not considering that, at that moment, his opponent was adorably staring at his eyes and... Yawning?

Soon enough, the trick was in; the unusually colored bug was, too, starting to yawn. And a bit more tired. And then drowsier.

And then, just before he nodded off, he happened to catch a glimpse of his love, leaping at him with flames gushing out of her mouth, ready to try to bite his arm off.

Being sent into sleep with that image in mind didn't do very good for the maintance of his feelings for Sabriel. But, at this point, he was no longer able to act on it. Or on anything at all.

The round closed with another vicious, burning bite, just the way ole_schooler's Pokémon had been wishing for, for a long time.

Alright, Sabriel! That's the kind of fighting I want to see: tricky with a side of pain. Now that he's asleep, we can take a bit of a breather, though no doubt he'll try to sleep talk or snore you to death. Here's what I want: shoot off a Toxic. -----

When giving commands, ole_schooler mentioned something about a fighting style of being tricky with a side of pain. The Pokemon belonging to them could not possibly disagree more; she would much rather be painful with a side of tricks. Regardless, she was ready to follow her commands.

Barubu's envoy, on the other hand, would not receive commands normally. He was much too caught up in the fantasies the sleeping mind weaves. In his personal Dream World, the sweet fantasies from before were plagued by a dash of doubt. He could see his object of attraction, except she stood behind a barrier of flame. With nimble movements, he made to plow straight through -- which seemed to gather the fire toward his apparent spot of entry -- only to make a wild leap around the blaze and into his dear's proximity.

In the real world, predictably, Kaemelotte reenacted these moves. He made to strike, leading his opponent to take guard, only to follow iwth a sudden strike to the back.

Sabriel couldn't help finding it strange, how her enemy would only start fighting for real when sleeping. But, asleep or awake, she intended to maul. For the first strike, she pulled some fluids from various parts of her body, then spat the concoction into her target. The goo quickly reacted with the forest air, taking on a purple hue as it drilled into the veins effortlessly.

The painful poison, of course, had an influence in the Heracross' dreaming. Soon, the whole nondescript environment had taken on a purple hue. A violet-colored gargantuan blob approached, making monstruous noises. Its grubby roar was positively threatening. But the dreamer would not yield before it. He fought bravely, seeking to overturn the situation.

Little did he realize, his strikes also landed true in real life. His supposed object of affection was on the receiving end of them, for reasons that completely mystified her. She at one point tried to get his attention to intimidate him, as per commanded, but there was no negotiating with a gigantic sleepwalking beetle.

Even when the canine Pokemon managed to back off, her foe kept bashing away at the air. And when he got around to doing that, he started doing it while letting out a scent. It started out bad, then the horribleness escalated until it was offensive to the nose.

The smell was so profoundly disgusting, it drained Sabriel's concentration. She could no longer take the time to figure her way around all those conditionals. So she did exactly what she wanted to do: violence, and violence now. Ramming straight into somebody who's socking the air has predictable side effects, but, in the end, the Poochyena did manage to strike a solid blow before the round ended.

Sabriel stared fiercely at her slumbering mess of an opponent as the seventh round started.

All of a sudden, it started raining muppet ass. Each one that landed on the ground exploded with grandeur. Soon, the arena was engulfed in flames that switched colors fast, giving both trainers and the referee severe seizures.

Taken down to the wire, Kaemelotte and Sabriel both accepted their fate with a mutual nod, then spontaneously exploded as well.

A deep-pitched laughter began echoing from the skies. The end of the world as humanity and Pokemon alike knew up until that day was descending upon the world as humanity and Pokemon alike knew up until that day.

With a sharp sound, saucers shot up from the horizon and crowded along the skies, quickly painting it gray with their numbers. When they unleashed the massive pink beam, all life on the planet suffered.

It was the end of the world as humanity and Pokemon alike knew up until that day.

-----

April's Fools is over; this time, the real thing was going to go down, as usual.

But, let's start by the unreal part. The one wherein a large blob tried to strike the two battlers. Kaemelotte had been trading blows with it for a long time, and now it reared back, preparing for a powerful strike. In turn, the Heracross made preparations himself, but on the defensive side.

Still a little shaken from the smell, the real Sabriel watched her foe take defensive position, and thanked goodness for the fact he didn't continue his barrage. She was getting really tired of his problematic sleepwalking. And that was actually a good thing. The sheer despise she had taken to that move wasn't very hard to turn into a ghostly power, one that would make his movements sluggish and difficult to go through with whenever he used that particular move again.

And use it again he did. Having managed to barely avoid his nightmare foe's attack, he prepared to counterstrike. Once he began to move, however, he, for some mysterious reason, felt his body stiffen up as though refusing to pull the attack off. Shaking it off, though, the large beetle did his best to suceed at rushing up and stabbing the blob with horn.

In reality, Spite took its toll on his movements. This being his first time dealing with the move's effects, he had a hard time getting the motions right. Thus, his thrust was easily avoided by the would-be accidental target and effectively countered with a sharp, burning bite.

The true target in the untrue plane, however, was hit dead-on. Its reaction was nasty, though. It started to grow, taking a form even more monstruous than before. Seeing no alternative but escape, the unusually colored insect quickly but efficiently fashioned a decoy to distract the beast as he took his lover and made a hasty escape.

A similar decoy was fashioned out of the arena's soil and a considerable amount of life force in the realm of the awake. Much to the hyena pup's annoyance, this decoy had a penchant getting in the way. It bravely took the Fire Fang that was meant upon his master's arm, allowing for its own arm to get bitten away savagely. So brutal was the attack, said arm was easily torn from the body. Nonetheless, being crippled seemed not to affect the steadfast lifeform.

-----

It took the referee a long goddamn time, as usual, but the next round commenced.

In dream world, Kaemelotte's decoy bought them not much time. He needed more. And as such, the next decoy would have to be himself. He told his beloved to flee ahead of him as he bravely steadied up to withstand the goo's long-range attacks.

No such attacks, close or long range, were coming about in real life. Because the decoy was doing better a job at that plane, and the bracing up needn't have been done by the Heracross himself. Some for of bracing was needed, though, as Sabriel attacked fiercely with burning bites.

Back within the surreal plane, as no attack came to him as he bought time, he got to escape unscathed. But when he sought his beloved again, he could find her no longer. Oh where, where could his baby be? Why would she leave him? He repeatedly stomped the ground in frustration.

Of course, in reality, his beloved had never left. And in fact, she happened to be just where his furious stomping was. And while a poisonous bite wasn't all that effective against an animated clump of dirt, it certainly was a fine form of stress release.

Even after stomping so much his foot began to throb, the large insect wasn't satisfied. So, he proceeded to bang his head against the wall. This gesture, again, wound up striking the reason for his headbanging, only in a different plane of existance.

Specially with the enormous horn factored in the equation, the headbutt put the Poochyena out of rhythm for a moment. Still, she recovered fast, and eagerly bit the head off the soil decoy. Next round, she intended to do the exact same things to the real deal, from biting off the arms to biting off the head. And maybe even taking the horn as a prize.
