Barubu vs. ole_schooler

(I think Sabriel has no chills left now. And sorry for the boredom I'm no doubt causing!)

Alrighty. Boring round time over; it's make or break, pup. Double Team as many clones as you can, then Fire Fang it up. You can doooo eeeeet!

Sabriel grinned as she anticipated the onslaught she had finally been allowed to rain down upon her foe. However, as always, there has to be a boring errand beforehand. Putting all the energy she'd recovered the round previous to use, the began sprinting as fast as she could. Of course, it wasn't too much -- even after their legs fully develop (i.e. when they evolve), Poochyena remain only averagely swift, comparatively. Still, she could at least reach enough velocity to appear as triple to any outside viewer.

Of course, there wasn't much for the intended target to see yet. Because his eyes still lay shut tight.

Not that it was to last. The first one of the brutal, burning bites left him only half-awake, but the second one was better than any splash of cold water in the morning could to wake somebody up. Not that I recommend setting yourself on fire or biting yourself in the morning. In the afternoon, well, maybe.

Kaemelotte woke up to a world of even worse terrors than those that ailed his dreams. He was being dealt a maelstrom of cauterizing fangs, and he couldn't even tell which direction it was coming from. It was obvious that his -- now quite instantly former -- beloved was the source of the fiery punishment, but there was suddenly more than one of her, so, it wasn't much help.

The multiple bites had left the Heracross quite badly battered, but, Heracross are one species that fight far harder when the push comes to shove. He began to irradiate an intense acid green glow that forced any beholders to cover their eyes. Filled with determination, he called upon the powers of the swarm.

Boring finale ahoy! One Venoshock shouldn't kill you (unless there's critical hax) so take a well-deserved Rest, then Sleep Talk twice. If the attacks don't kill him, the poison or energy deprivation will. (I hope...)

It was a decisive moment, and both battlers knew it.

Kaemelotte caught a lucky break to start with. There was a good chance for his first attack to miss, given the illusions. However, when he unleashed the globs of solid venom, they happened to land at the correct Sabriel. It didn't do too much damage, but it did shed the clones.

Smirking, the Poochyena prepared to pull off what at the time seemed like not a table-turning move, as she was already on top, but rather, a flipping the goddamn table twice over move. At first, she just sat in place and relaxed. The referee nearly stepped in to remind ole_schooler of a certain move restriction, but quickly noticed that it was something else being used. The hyena Pokémon began to irradiate a faint blue glow as her body rushed to heal the several wounds gathered along the battle...

... Only it rushed too hard. Sabriel lacked the energy to go through with it the whole way. The shine suddenly disappeared as the exhausted battler began displaying absolutely no sign of movement.

Her opponent could hardly believe what he was seeing.

- ole_schooler sends out a new Pokémon and then commands first next round.

...Dammit. This is what I get for using the previous round's energy value instead of this round's. And not looking at the restrictions. I am the foolish.

Well, let's avoid as much time warpin as possible and send out Tomas. Shock Wave until he's down. If he's dug or is Protecting, use Charge until he's accessable.

As I went about commencing to referee this round, I realized that I miscalculated stuff last round and Sabriel would have been able to Rest without being energykilled in the process. Sleep Talk would nonetheless have sealed it, most likely; still, do you guys want a redo?

I would like a redo, as well. (I mean, there's about a 1% chance Sabriel takes Kaemelotte out with her, but it's still a chance, right?)

The hyena Pokémon began to irradiate a faint blue glow as her body rushed to heal the several wounds gathered along the battle. While appearing to be relaxing, the process was actually very taxing, leaving her near exhausted.

The Heracross was quite daunted, but didn't stop fighting, just following up with another round of toxic pebbles. It didn't amount to much, against the completely healed body. As a counterstrike, Sabriel drew from every last bit of power she had left, unleashing a bright blast of pure energy that struck the target dead-on, downing him but not yet defeating him. Unfortunately, the obvious price to pay for emptying the reserves was run out of them -- the Poochyena collapsed still in her sleep.

Barubu's Pokémon seemed to be about to get up again, when a sharp sting got the best of him. It was the venom coursing through his veins. There was absolutely no way his body could keep fighting it in that weakened condition. Some medical treatment would be in order as quick as possible... But first, there was a match to decide.

Second verse, same as the first, a little bit more effective and a little bit worse! (For purposes of XP, would both pokemon get 2, or 1, for the double KO?)

Tomas, it's a go for you. Pound out a Charge Beam with a Thunderbolt chaser. If those both hit, sit back and chill; otherwise, go for a quick 'n dirty Wild Charge. If you hear your foe Fly out of range or feel the emptiness of a Protect/Detect bubble, swap to Chargeing while he's unhittable.

Both Pokémon were withdrawn upon the one-after-another knockouts. Aware that the battle was now to be decided by the last two, both trainers made new sendouts, a tad nervously.

Barubu went with a teeny-tiny bird Pokémon of brown feathers, well known by anybody who has ever been to forests in Kanto or Johto. ole_schooler's response was a canine critter with excessively bright green fur that seemed to cast a bit of light into its surroundings. His eyes seemed unnatural, as though they didn't quite belong to him.

With the referee's signal, the match commenced anew.

A tad startled by his opponent, Charles rushed into his commands, letting out a mixture that might not even have been a toxin to start with. The recklessness of the attack threw its aim, and it landed harmlessly on the grass. The intended target barely seemed to realize something was going on.

After a long round of sniffing, Tomas seemed to catch a whiff of how his foe was moving. He began with a swipe at the air that unleashed a quick jolt. For him, it was but a warm-up, whereas the target was heavily affected and could barely fly properly upon being struck. But that was just the beggining of his problems, as the Electrike sent a more serious amount of electricity his way.

The second blast of voltage sent the flying Pokémon, well, flying backwards, causing him to land awkwardly on backside. Getting up was a struggle, and even when he managed, he could hardly take off again, as his muscles responded to external signals and, as such, hardly responded.

Now a little more focused, the Pidgey actually gathered a proper mix of substance in his beak, spitting it up with great difficulty. It was headed for a spot just in front of the target. It would have been a miss... Except said target's wandering snout found its way into the trajectory. When it landed, the Electric-type freaked out, taking quite hurried steps back and rubbing his nose with his forepaws. It was futile, however, as the toxins easily sank into his bloodstream. Accepting this much, he sat back and took a break.

Little did he know, this let his much slowed down opponent approach. His sharp hearing made sneaking around impossible, but all Charles needed was a slight bit of proximity before he could turn his pain into anger, going into a vicious rampage against which there was very little defense. This degree of overexertion would take its toll right after, but until then, it was unstoppable.

Both battlers were panting heavily as the round ended.

You know, with the length of this match, I'm a bit surprised there have been no eraser attacks. Admittedly, there's only a 22% chance of a single hit within 12 rounds, but it's getting closer and closer to the point where, statistically, somebody's gotta get hit. (Okay, so it only gets to 50% by the twenty-third round, but that's statistics for you.)

Anyway, Tomas, you're all full of energy now, so dance the magic dance. Rain Dance, that is. Follow it with a pair of Thunders. Uncreative, I admit, but next round I promise to tell you things that are more fun and interesting.

Surprising that you brought that up, because I'd been forgetting to roll for a long time now, but I remembered last round and made compensatory rolls. Not a single one hit the mark, though.

Also, these statistics don't add up -- the chance of a 2% roll being successful in n tries remains 2%. Not to mention, previous results don't affect the current chance -- there's only a 1 in 1296 of rolling a certain number in a six-faced dice four times in a row, but if you roll a certain number three times, the chance of rolling it a fourth time isn't 1 in 1296, it's 1 in 6.
