Arena: Professor Lab
Who's the said professor is not really important. It is a generic Professor Lab were starters are given away and where new trainers begin their journey to become the new Pokémon Champion, then register on Smogon and realize they suck and have their dreams shattered. Oh well. Said Professor (Actually let's just call him Prof. Said) left his town and lab for two trainers to battle, and he might regret it but anyways a bit of reconstruction work is a fart for the Almighty Prof. Said.

Anyways, the battle will take place outside the lab, because we want every move working, you know (There's also a stream for Surfing convenient isn't it). Since starter Pokémon will feel quite at home here, all attacks that match their type have their damage boosted by 2% after all calculations for 2% less energy. Besides that it's pretty much it.
Arena status: There are seeds all over the ground.

-----

Very little that didn't already appear in previous rounds showed up on the battlers' commands as they delved into more and more decisive territory.

In Kin's muttering, once more, much to her foe's deep annoyance, more seeds rung out. However, instead of bouncing off with high impact, they opened and attempted to spread tendrils... Only to discover themselves planted upon something they can't dig through, and nor can siphon from: Grass-types. They dropped off to the ground, now merely adding to the mess on the floor.

Shinrin then proceeded to do the worst thing one can possibly do to a sleeping opponent: emit extremely loud noises. Trainers and referee alike flinched as the gecko Pokémon's microscopic hooks slid through a blackboard that had been hanging around outside the laboratory. His foe was, too, shaken by the horrible sound, and started blinking slightly at that point.

Her wake-up call was yet another energy draining punch to the face. In spite of being enough for an awakening, however, the impact was by and at large inconsequential, as the attack really targeted loose energy around the body.

Recalling her commands, the Shroomish proceeded to what would have been a middle finger to science if she had any of those: photosynthesis. Taking energy from the sun the way mushrooms actually don't, she rapidly restored numerous wounds. While not healing completely -- it would take much more intense lighting for such -- it was remarkably close to reaching that.

After that, the fungal Pokémon concentrated on her next attack, once more spitting up a foul Sludge Bomb. The starter Pokémon's mistake was to happen to have his mouth open when he was hit. He accidentally swallowed a considerable amount of the spluttered sludge, which not only left a terrible taste in his mouth and made his breath really bad, but also started wreck havoc within his bodily systems.

At that point, such was Shinrin's condition, that his hidden starter power kicked in, giving him a bright green glow that made him seem slightly larger in size -- or perhaps it was no illusion? Regardless, he spat out a one-liner about real plant power (although his case is even worse, since he's technically an animal), then stretched out his hand, draining more energy away from his enemy, who could at that point clearly tell that all of that shiny regained health wasn't going to be engaged all too early.

While the power renewed flowed strong within the Treecko's body, the harm done from the poisonous sludge sloshing around was undeniable. The pain was severe, and the taste was really, really annoying.

-----

Each move was decisive as one of the battlers neared exhaustion. Neither trainer was willing to be the first to get a knockout on their team.

Much the same way his foe did earlier, more or less forgivingly towards science depending on your point of view, Shinrin also kicked a photossynthetic process, converting solar energy and using it to stabilize bruises and poisoned spots alike. He irradiated an intense light during this process, but became less shiny after it, seeing as his hidden reserves of power settled back into waiting.

At that point, Kin approached and, with a leap, heabutted the Treecko on the belly. It was only a glancing blow; what mattered was a Fighting-type pulse emitted with the contact, which drained the gecko Pokémon's energy the same way he'd been doing it the previous round.

Feeling slightly provoked over the mirror move, he returned the motion, delivering it the old-fashioned way: through an actual punch. He even threw in a joke about actually having arms (it was kind of cruel).

The two battlers kept exchanging energy-sapping blows until one of them went down, completely exhausted.

The fallen Shroomish was, by arena determinations, replaced by a Fire-type -- although that move would have been benefitial on normal circumstances as well. The replacement was a canine Pokémon of bushy, red-brown fur, with a deeper cluster of cream-colored fur around the incessantly barking and snarling muzzle.

With absolutely no warning beyond the beggining of round signal, Fu pounced, ripping multiple wounds in Shinrin with fierce, vengeful claw attacks. The whole display severely daunted the Treecko, but he knew just what he had to. Seizing a good opportunity, he delivered a sharp punch in between the the slashes, then proceeded to break out his own combo, dealing a series of minor cuts.

The two backed off from one another for a moment, but neither was intending to give any quarter. The gecko Pokémon put his hand over his mouth, dredging up a couple of strange seeds. He hurled them at his opponent, expecting them to grow into a beautiful energy sapping parasite plant that his next teammate would sure appreaciate.

But the Growlithe would have none of that. His fur shot aflame as he dashed forward for his next attack, completely obliterating the Leech Seed. When he was within range, he leapt, delivering a straightforward ram as well as flames. By pure happenstance, these were delivered into the Grass-type's belly, leaving scorches all over as well as severe pain.

Barely holding on, Shinrin pulled out the last trick. He slowly ambled towards the blackboard, once more unleashing upon this heathen plan the infernal melody of the hooks with the slate. Extremely annoyed, the canine Pokémon angrily breathed a tongue of flames into both his opponent and the blackboard, respectively dealing more burns and setting on fire.

That will teach fellas something about irritating noises.

Fixed up the calculations; will deal with the reffing proper later. Preferrably once I'm outrunning everybody again.

Nice, thanks a bunch.

Now Shinrin, I'm pretty sure you guessed your job is pretty much over here, but leave with Fu as damaged as possible, to ease the job for Kazan. Just fire off Seed Bombs until you faint. With the attack boost, the defense drop, STAB, arena effect and Overgrow it should be powerful enough to make you forget the type resistance >:D

If he was to Protect or Detect or do anything that would prevent the attack from landing, just Chill. If you think he'll try to burn them off before they can hit, replace the bombs with a couple of rocks instead. You did very well, my friend!

Stay at a distance and Flame Burst him into oblivion. Keep him away by being as intimidating as possible, and moving away.

With one of the battlers about as battered as can be, both trainers already expected this to be a rather short round. Their commands stayed on the territory of decisive, offensive movement.

Shinrin had to ponder his commands for a while. Why was he supposed to do the thinking on what his opponent will do? Isn't that sort of thing kind of the trainer's job? He was pretty quick to come to a conclusion when he was struck by an exploding fireball, though.

With the last of his energy, he ripped a chunk of stone from beneath the ground, leaving a hole in its wake, dropping it on his opponent. He collapsed shortly thereafter, never getting to see the fearsome foe suddenly whimper in pain.

Lord of the Fireflies prepared to make his arena-determined sendout, while being distracted by the burning blackboard.

-----

What Lord of the Fireflies sent out next was a rather humanoid Pokémon, slung over his fists, shifting around inquietly. The flame on his backside was hardly noticeable in comparison to the fires consuming the blackboard nearby.

At the referee's signal, the eight round began.

Taking advantage of a moment of hesitation from the foe, Kazan quickly hopped on a tree, moving over it almost effortlessly as he spewed a series of challenges and underestimative statements.

Fu absolutely did not like his new opponent's way of absolutely not taking the battle seriously. Unfortunately, with him well out of range, there was no room for headbutts, bites or even frenzied beatings. There was only one alternative left: smashing against the tree until it dropped its fruits. The orange-furred ones that happened not to actually be in plural, specifically.

Atop the rocking tree, the Chimchar aimed some Rock-type energy at the stones curiously scattered about near a hole, shattering one of them into pieces, which he set up against the base of the trunk. He expected that to keep it protected from the slams.

While it decidedly harmed the Growlithe, though, the Stealth Rock did not prevent him from continuously banging on it, each tackle making it wiggle harder. The chimp Pokémon was helpless before that, as he had absolutely no idea what his next command was supposed to mean. Vomitting garbage? What the hell?

By the time the end of round was called, he was barely holding onto one of the branches placed highest. He should probably have gone with a sturdier tree rather than this wonky crap.

- Taunting and climbing the tree worked because Chimchar, as stated by the Pokédex, are agile and accostumed to climbing sheer cliffs; going up a mere tree while barking a couple of insults would be well within their ability.

SEREBII. WE'RE OVER, YOU STINKY LIAR.

ALRIGHT, MOVING ON.

Sorry Kazan, I really believed you were able to vomit garbage... Now, we're in a nice situation there, but the tree might be falling over soon enough, and the Stealth Rock might be a problem then. But as long as the tree is still standing we don't have much to worry about. So yeah, start with a Fire Spin to keep him well inside the Stealth Rock circle for the moment. If by the time you move he's too far away to get him in, just use Bulk Up. If you're still atop the tree and/or he's at a long distance for the following actions, use Natural Gift twice. If you're at his level, Thunderpunch. While you do, however, try to use it a bit like a Hammer Arm, keeping your electrified fist on him the longest possible, hopefully giving you a better chance at paralyzing him. Once he's paralyzed or if the thing just couldn't work / you don't know how to do it / he has a Substitute, you can use Natural Gift instead. If he Protects, Detects or tries to use Counter, just Bulk Up. Finally, if the tree is about to fall down, jump down and roll, as far as possible from the Stealth Rock. Good luck!

Anyway.

BURN IT ALL DOWN.

Flamethrower first, and try to hit the tree as much as you can to burn that sucker to the ground, and bringing him with it. Then, when he's down with you, Crunch onto him and don't let go, then Thrash him around - Try to hit him on some of those rocks if you can, too. If you can't reach him, though, toss your own Natural Gifts at him.
